    Analytics Associate

    Mission Statement for the Role: 

    Telling data stories to move an audience to action!

    Role Summary: 

    As a data storyteller, the Analytics Associate will analyze and interpret data to create compelling narratives that inform, inspire, and drive business decisions. This role contributes to Poa's growth by supporting various teams with actionable insights.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Analyze customer data, monitor performance, and generate daily analytics reports with actionable recommendations to improve business outcomes.
    • Conduct deep dive analysis on poa! customer segments to improve poa's understanding of who our customers are and to inform operational improvements in collaboration with Research and Design teams.
    • Develop customer renewal profiles and predictive churn models by analyzing delinquency and churn data, providing data-driven recommendations to reduce churn.
    • Build user-friendly Power BI dashboards for management and operational teams, leveraging transformed data from the data warehouse.
    • Deliver 99% of routine and ad-hoc analytical reports within agreed timeframes to support data-driven decision-making across teams.

    Key competencies required for the role:

    • Exceptional ability to tell compelling data stories that drive action.
    • Strong proficiency in business data analytics tools (Excel, SQL, Power BI).
    • Experience extracting, transforming, and loading data from data warehouses into BI tools for analysis and storytelling.
    • 2+ years of experience in large and complex descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive data analysis.
    • Experience with data collection and survey tools (preferred but not mandatory).
    • High attention to detail and ability to focus on all aspects of a project or task.
    • Growth mindset—proactively seeks feedback, adapts, and learns quickly.

    Academic Qualifications Required:

    • Diploma or Degree in a relevant field

    Mandatory Requirements:

    • Proven experience owning end-to-end data projects, from definition to data storytelling.
    • 2+ years of experience as a data analyst working with large datasets.

    As a Data Infrastructure Specialist, the Analytics Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, optimize data models, write sueries to create reports, and enhance Poa's data warehouse efficiency. This role ensures seamless access to reliable and actionable insights that drive impactful data storytelling and decision-making.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Scalable Data Pipelines: Design, implement, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to process large datasets, reducing data latency by 30% and improving query efficiency.
    • Cloud Data Integration: Leverage Google Cloud Platform tools (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Data Fusion) to implement integrations for enhanced data processing and accessibility.
    • Data Warehouse Optimization: Improve SQL query performance, reduce query execution time by at least 20%, and ensure cost-effective storage.
    • Data Governance & Reliability: Maintain 99.9% uptime for data pipelines and implement data quality checks to reduce inconsistencies by 90%.
    • Support Advanced Analytics: Develop infrastructure to support predictive analytics and churn modeling, ensuring seamless data access for business users.
    • Training & Mentorship: Train and mentor Analytics Associates on data modeling and transformation best practices in BigQuery, ensuring at least 80% self-sufficiency in writing queries and optimizing datasets.

    Key competencies required for the role:

    • Expertise in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries for data transformation and reporting in BigQuery.
    • Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform tools, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Cloud Data Fusion.
    • Ability to extract, transform, and load data for analytics teams, supporting insightful data storytelling.
    • Strong communication skills to collaborate with analytics, research, software, and product teams to ensure accessible and valuable data.
    • Ability to handle ambiguity, prioritize competing tasks, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
    • Understanding of data security, compliance, and governance best practices.
