    Regional Sales Representatives

    No of Positions: 4

    To further stimulate the growth of Storymoja, we are currently seeking to recruit talented, progressive and team-oriented individuals to fill the position of Regional Sales Representatives in the regions outlined below;

    1. Mountain: Embu/Kirinyaga
    2. Nairobi: Thika Road
    3. Nairobi: Dagoretti
    4. Rift Valley: Eldoret

    IMPORTANT: All the TWO (2) above mentioned steps must be followed. Applications not following all steps will automatically be disqualified.

    Purpose of the Position:

    Provide first-class service to all clients and potential clients in order to grow the sales of Storymoja products in the designated market region.

    Summary of responsibilities:         

    1. Identify sales opportunities in order to sell and grow Storymoja’s market share in the designated region.
    2. Market and promote Storymoja books and programmes to all education stakeholders within your region. This includes; Schools, NGO’s, Counties, and other interested parties.
    3. Maintain good relations with schools, book distributors, counties, NGO’s and other stakeholders in your region
    4. Address customer needs in a timely manner and ensure effective customer service.
    5. ​ ​Prepare weekly reports of your area and submit to the Supervisor/Manager within the set timelines.
    6. Take an active part in debt collection and whistleblowing on piracy cases in the designated regions.
    7. Perform any other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned to you by your supervisor and/or management and are related to the achievement of Storymoja’s mission and vision

    Background, competencies and attributes of the Regional Sales Representatives (The knowledge, skills and abilities may be required through a combination of formal schooling, self-education and prior experience or on-the-job-training).

    1. Ability to sell books and collect debt
    2. At least a diploma in Sales and Marketing, Education, Public Relations or any other Social Science course.
    3. MUST  be an ethical individual
    4. High achiever with a proven track record of achieving set targets.
    5. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to build relationships with people at all levels.
    6. Must be smart and presentable.
    7. Digital marketing skills is an added advantage

    Reading Revolutionary

    Storymoja believes a reading nation is a smarter nation. Our vision is to ‘Get a book in every hand.’ We embrace books in digital, physical and experiential formats.

    The Reading Revolution (RR) is a long-term Storymoja campaign designed to excite children, teachers and other stakeholders in the education sector, as well as Strategic Partners in Storymoja physical and digital education products and create demand for them.

    Overall Purpose of the Position

    Assist in designing and implementing the RR strategy. This position requires careful understanding and integration of the objectives and strategies of Storymoja products, projects and departments. 

    Summary of responsibilities:         

    1. Champion reading and promote the Storymoja brand, app, books and campaigns to teachers in schools, other key stakeholders and strategic partners.
    2. Nurture strong relationships with potential and current Strategic Partners with a view to understanding mutual objectives and inspiring them to participate and support Storymoja reading and education campaigns.
    3. Input on detailed implementation plans, leveraging school networks and expertise to generate positive attention grow audiences and effectively market our brand, app and books. Clearly state targets, budgets, and timelines for delivery and agree measures of success. Execute with reference to the RR mobilisation manual and tools for schools.
    4. ​Proactively disseminate information about our app, books and campaigns to agreed target groups and input on the design of relevant communication materials – printed and social media.
    5. Proactively collect contacts and aggressively use social media to promote Storymoja books, app, and reading and education campaigns. Liaise with all Storymoja departments to capture information about current and past audiences in order to deepen and widen the network of audiences.
    6. Conduct regular monitoring activities and write reports, updates and case histories for ongoing communication, including newsletters and social media, with a range of stakeholders and strategic partners.
    7. Promote and sell our books, app, projects and products at events and other promotions as required.
    8. Gather and disseminate relevant information about the competition on a timely basis. Actively engage with various industry stakeholders, and keep abreast of developments in the greater reading and publishing sector, locally and internationally.
    9. Continuously review tasks/ targets to ensure that agreed deliverables are on track, and prepare and present weekly monthly and quarterly reports.

    The right candidate will have:

    1. Bachelor or Masters’ Degree
    2. Minimum of 6 years’ experience in the education sector, with experience in managing teachers at the primary school level. Experience in education technology is a big plus.
    3. Good understanding of issues and challenges affecting literacy, and approaches to addressing the same.
    4. Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills.
    5. Good social media skills and be willing to continuously upgrade through training.
    6. Team player able to work effectively and collaboratively across all departments to meet goals and deadlines.
    7. Must be organised, attentive to detail and good at follow up.
    8. Fundraising experience is a big plus.

    Digital Marketing Manager

    To further stimulate the growth of Storymoja, we are currently seeking to recruit talented, progressive and team-oriented individuals to fill the position of a Digital Manager.

    IMPORTANT: All the TWO (2) above mentioned steps must be followed. Applications not following all steps will automatically be disqualified.

    Purpose of the position:

    If you live and breathe digital marketing, we want to talk to you. We are looking for a Digital Marketing Manager to develop commercially scalable audio-visual offerings, implement, track and optimize our digital marketing campaigns across all digital channels.

    Summary of responsibilities:

    1. Oversight responsibility for the management of digital sales platforms.
    2. Design and implement specialized digital marketing campaigns e.g. support live and online Storymoja events to create opportunities for social media buzz and sales.
    3. Oversight responsibility for all Storymoja Studio productions, including identifying and liaising with staff and subcontractors. Productions may include audiobooks, Ebooks, book trailers, Storymoja adverts and promotional videos, podcasts, animations, TV series, motion graphics and video bumpers, online curriculum and tutorial courses in video/film and animation formats.
    4. Conduct market and industry research and give periodic recommendations to Storymoja through your weekly updates and monthly reports.
    5. Plan and execute all digital marketing, including SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns
    6. Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
    7. Identify trends and insights and optimize spend and performance based on the insights
    8. Collaborate with internal teams to create landing pages and optimize the user experience
    9. Utilize the strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touchpoints
    10. Instrument conversion points and optimizes user funnels
    11. Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate
    12. Measuring and reporting on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns
    13. Perform any other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned to you by your supervisor and/or management and are related to the achievement of Storymoja mission and vision.

    The Right Candidate will have:

    1. Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Masters is an added advantage.
    2. Software, Web Design and Development Skills is an added advantage
    3. Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns.
    4. Demonstrable social media networking experience and Solid knowledge of website analytics tools
    5. Should have a strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies and be able to lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution.
    6. Working knowledge of ad serving tools
    7. Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
    8. Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
    9. Film or Studio engineering experience is a strong plus.
    10. Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
    11. Excellent writing, editing (text/photo/video), presentation and communication skills
    12. A team player able to work effectively and collaboratively across all departments to meet goals and deadlines.
