    Head of Product & Innovation

    Reporting to:         Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

    Band:                         4.2

    Department:          Mobile Division – Marketing Dept.

    Purpose of the Role  

    The role is responsible for the Mobile and Mobile Finance Products and Services portfolio. The Head of Product & Innovation will perform product management for the GSM and mobile money products and services including strategy planning, concept definition, implementation, launch and on-going performance and the lifecycle management.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Defining the new product development and innovation processes for the Mobile division and integrating it into the rest of the company
    • Developing and implementing methods and procedures for monitoring projects such as preparation of records of expenditures, progress reports and staff conferences, in order to inform management of current status of each project
    • Working together with the leadership team to develop the strategic product roadmap for the division, providing regular updates and strategic analysis of the progress in achieving the roadmap goals
    • Overseeing and managing the Product Team to develop and launch approved products and services
    • Defining and managing the change request roadmap with inputs from technical and commercial teams. Oversee the Product Team to implement approved change requests and service improvements
    • Working together with technical teams in order to design, configure and deliver the systems, products and services to meet requirements and deadlines
    • Defining and monitor the customer experience for consumer, corporate and distribution users of our systems and oversee continued improvements to the user experience
    • Selecting correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement for existing ones
    • Undertaking leadership and mentoring of the Product Team and manage execution of section objectives
    • Establishing staff KPIs, conduct periodic performance evaluations and plan staff training and skills improvement
    • Preparing budgets and approve budget expenditures; Control expenses to meet budget guidelines
    • Managing delivery of the road-map meeting timeline expectations of the business.
    • Maintaining strong ties and consistent communication with Marketing, Agency, Operational and Technical teams to capture appropriate commercial requirements and manage technical implementation and project timelines.

    Academic/ Professional Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, IT or related field from a recognized institution 
    • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in product development, prior leadership experience and relationship management, including 2-3 years in a similar position.
    • Experience in Telecommunication / ICT industries and good understanding of these services and solutions are preferred.

    Revenue Accountant

    Reporting to:       Senior Accountant

    Role Purpose: 

    We are seeking an individual who is dynamic in nature and passionate about delivering results to join our Finance, Revenue Accounting team. This role will manage companywide Revenue Accounting processes and reporting for monthly management financial statements.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensure application of all the requirements of IFRS 15 to accounting and reporting of monthly revenues
    • Ensure proper accounting of all billed Customer revenues with relevant accompanying taxes in compliance with Tax law requirements
    • Analyse revenue trends and movements on a monthly basis and ensure that all revenues reported are duly supported by valid Contracts or SOFs
    • Hands-on experience with any ERP system
    • Thorough understanding of financial accounting statements
    • Good research and analytical skills with an aptitude for numbers
    • Accuracy and great attention to detail
    • High degree of integrity and confidentiality
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to function as a team player
    • Strong analytical skills to perform in depth financial analysis
    • Proficient with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

    Academic/ Professional Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Finance  
    • 3-5 years previous experience Finance and Accounting field.
    • Previous experience in Finance preferably within the Revenue dept.

    • Be a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya – CPA(K)
    • Strong accounting, negotiation, and influencing skills

    IT Mediation and Business Intelligence Specialist

    Region:                    Nairobi

    Reporting to:        Manager – Business Support Systems

    Department:         Technology Division

    About This Role

    Reporting to the Manager of Business Support Systems, the job holder will be required to administer and support BI and Mediation applications. In addition he/she will liaise with the business to ensure expectations are met on time.

    What You Will Do

    • Monitor BI and Mediation applications ensuring that all downstream applications receive inputs.
    • Perform data catch-up and other corrective actions in the event of faults.
    • Perform data quality and consistency checks on data in the BI and Mediation applications.
    • Generate and circulate daily, weekly and monthly application QOS reports.
    • System administration of BI and Mediation system by ensuring system and user configurations are set up correctly.
    • Handling business requests which involve carrying out feasibility study and implementation on BI & Mediation systems.
    • Document BI and Mediation processes/systems and ensure they are up to date.
    • Perform troubleshooting, first/second level support and resolution of issues with respective system vendors.
    • Project involvement in procuring and implementation of BI and Mediation systems /upgrades.
    • Involvement in system design  and assess the effectiveness of technology resources already in use or new systems that are being implemented
    • Redundancy and back up management - ensuring redundancy for BI and Mediation are backed up and that backup system is available and working.
    • Carry out system maintenance together with system administrators and database administrators to ensure Mediation and BI systems are functioning optimally e.g. disk space check/expansion, memory & CPU checks
    • Generate on-demand reports for the business users
    • Training of users

    Requirements for the job:

    • A degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
    • Qualification in Programming / Databases
    • Qualification in ITIL /E-TOM,

    Experience:

    • At least 5 years background in IT with specialization in Telecommunication B.I and Mediation applications
    • Proficient in Unix & Microsoft OS, Unix Scripting, programming and Relational Databases
    • Experience in documenting processes and system architectures
    • Proven experience in implementation of projects with regards to B.I. and Mediation
