    Horticulture Quality Control Supervisor - Naivasha

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the general supervision and support work in the grading hall.
    • Make sure that when roses are delivered from the greenhouse they are loaded immediately onto trolleys and kept in the cold store awaiting to be graded.
    • Ensure that each of the varieties are loaded onto different trolleys and ensure proper and orderly arrangement of the trolleys i.e. as per in the cold stores.
    • Ensure that the ungraded flowers are distributed from the cold stores to the graders for grading.
    • Ensure that once the graded flowers are verified and recorded by the supervisors, they are collected immediately and kept them in the cold stores.
    • Always ensure that the graded flowers are placed onto trolleys again according to varieties and length. The arrangement in the cold stores should always be orderly and according to varieties and length.
    • Ensure that packing boxes are prepared as instructed and that the targets given are always met.
    • Ensure that sfks are cut for the graders and ensure that they are cut according to the specified length. The line drawn on the sfks should also be as per specifications given.
    • Ensure that the grading drainages are cleaned every two days.
    • Supervising cleaning the cold rooms and ensuring they are kept dry every day.
    • Ensure cleaning the flower trolleys is done every two weeks.
    • Supervision of loading of rejects/litter onto tractors for disposal.
    • Correct Labelling of the flower boxes with graded flowers with the stickers provided every morning before loading the boxes onto transport trucks is done.
    • Loading of boxes with graded flowers onto trucks for transport is done timely.
    • Supervision of offloading all the packaging materials like Boxes, Sleeves, Sfks as and when they are supplied

    Quality Control Intern - Ukunda

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Safety is prioritized and adherence to HSE Standards to ensure compliance and confirm that waste management practices are implemented.

    Horticulture Senior Quality Control - Naivasha

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ensuring punctual attendance to duties considering time in (7.30 am) and time out (4.30 Pm) and keeping record of overtime used on daily basis.
    • Ensuring that the muster roll is filled everyday clearly indicating absence, presence, and permission or leave days of a worker accordingly. Incase somebody is late recording the time of arrival.
    • Always uphold general discipline of workers and enforcing all the policies of the farm to the workers with no compromise.
    • Induct new workers in your department into the mainstream activities relating to the company’s policies and other farm’s legislations and on the roles of certain players e.g. first aiders, health & safety committee, fire safety.
    • Ensure that a hand on training is done exhaustively including work safety procedures before allocation of duties to the new workers.
    • Ensure that in the event of an accident or injury of a worker in the department, the supervisors in charge make an injury report and submit it to the office within the same day of the accident occurrence and organize for first aid provision to the casualty with the first aiders on duty.
    • Handle the workers grievances and escalate the ones not handled to the office management.
    • Report any situation or condition that may pose as a health hazard to the workers and ensure proper use and maintenance of the personal protective clothing provided.
    • Report any person or situation that may destabilize peace or smooth running of the company’s operations.
    • Ensuring proper crop husbandry techniques e.g. de suckering, cracking, weeding and general cleanliness of the greenhouses are communicated to the supervisors on time.
    • To act in accordance with all lawful instructions of and comply with all lawful commands and directions of the Company or its duly authorized officers.
    • Compiling a report on each greenhouse and submitting it to the director on a weekly basis. The report should encompass all aspects of production that may include pests and diseases, varying levels of production, factors affecting growth and the general performance of each greenhouse.
    • To promote and always safeguard the interests of the Company and its business and not at any time to do anything detrimental to those interests.
    • Ensuring greenhouse operations systems are in good order e.g. Irrigation system, spray lines and report any anomalies like leaks, dry spots, or any malfunctions.
    • Report any tears of the plastic, any breakages or destruction arising from occasional twisters and ensuring that the greenhouse structure i.e. plastic, doors are intact.
    • Give a detailed report on the crop condition (i.e. diseases and pests) of the crop by ensuring that scouting is done on weekly basis.
    • Ensure that the workers do not enter the greenhouse being sprayed or pass through greenhouses that have been sprayed before the lapse of re-entry period.
    • Check and ensure proper cut points and cut stage of flowers.
    • Enhance prompt transport of the cut flowers to the cold store or the grading house.
    • Ensure that the harvesting buckets are clean, have enough post-harvest solution and number of flowers put is reasonable and stems are reaching the water i.e. 10cm deep.

    • Ensure that the spray and scout team report to work on time and without fail.

    Front Office Admin (Intern) - Langata Road

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Attend to walk in customers and visitors, directing them accordingly as per their request.
    • Execute clerical receptionist duties such as typing, filing, photocopying, collating etc.
