    Manager, Actuarial Reserving

    Role Purpose

    The Manager Actuarial Reserving will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and adequacy of our medical insurance reserving processes. This position requires a seasoned actuary with a strong background in medical insurance, reserving methodologies, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be collaborating with cross-functional departments to support strategic decision-making and uphold financial stability.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Actuarial reporting for financial & regulatory compliance. Develop and implement actuarial reserving strategies to accurately assess and project medical insurance liabilities under regulatory basis, IFRS17, Financial Condition Reporting, Solvency & Risk Based Capital.
    • Evaluate and enhance existing reserving processes, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
    • Oversee the preparation and analysis of reserving reports.
    • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial statements and compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Utilize advanced actuarial modeling techniques to project future liabilities and assess the impact of various scenarios.
    • Conduct regular reviews of models and assumptions, adjusting as necessary to reflect changing business conditions.
    • Collaborate with other relevant departments to gather data and insights for reserving purposes.
    • Work closely with risk management to assess and mitigate potential risks affecting the company's financial stability.
    • Stay informed about regulatory changes impacting medical insurance reserving.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and reporting requirements.

    Key Competencies

    • In-depth knowledge of actuarial principles, reserving methodologies, and modeling techniques specific to the medical insurance industry.
    • Strong understanding of insurance products, pricing, and risk assessment.
    • Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements, reserving reports, and related financial data.
    • Experience in managing financial projections and forecasting for medical insurance liabilities.
    • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and the ability to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Excellent communication skills to convey complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Ability to adapt to changing business conditions and implement necessary adjustments to reserving strategies.
    • In-depth knowledge of IFRS 17 standards and practical experience in their implementation

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other relevant field.
    • Professional actuarial exams (nearly qualified actuary under IFOA/SOA or equivalent).
    • IFRS17 and actuarial modelling expertise.
    • Proven leadership experience.
    • Strong knowledge of reserving methodologies, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

    Relevant Experience

    • Minimum five (5) years of experience in actuarial roles within the medical insurance industry.

    Senior Manager-IT Enterprise Architecture

    Role Purpose

    The job holder will oversee and guide the development of enterprise-wide architectural solutions to support the company's business objectives. He/She will also collaborate with key stakeholders to analyze business requirements, assess existing systems, define technology strategies, lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, conduct thorough feasibility studies, and provide recommendations for system enhancements and upgrades. The role also ensures the alignment of IT systems with industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory compliance.

    Main Responsibilities

    Strategy:

    • Develop and maintain the IT enterprise architecture roadmap aligned with the organisation’s strategic goals, explicitly focusing on industry requirements.
    • Provide expert guidance and recommendations on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices for driving innovation and digital transformation.
    • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including business leaders, to understand business requirements and translate them into technology solutions and architectural designs specific to the insurance industry.

    Operational:

    • Define and enforce IT architecture standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and efficient technology implementations Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
    • Evaluate existing IT systems, applications, and infrastructure to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
    • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions for business units, considering performance, reliability, and scalability factors.

    Corporate Governance (Regulatory and Compliance):

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards, data privacy, security, and governance requirements.
    • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to address regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to laws and regulations.
    • Monitor and assess technology-related risks specific to the insurance industry and implement necessary controls to safeguard the organisation’s assets and sensitive data.

    Leadership and Culture:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business units, particularly business units, to promote a unified vision and drive technology initiatives.
    • Champion adopting enterprise architecture principles and methodologies within the various units to drive consistency and standardisation across technology solutions.

    Key Competencies

    • Proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
    • Deep understanding of cloud computing, microservices, and other modern IT architectures.
    • Experience with IT infrastructure, networking, and security principles.
    • Strong experience in business architecture, application architecture and data architecture.
    • Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.
    • Familiarity with data architecture and governance principles.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
    • Certification in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF)
    • Insurance-specific certifications (e.g., insurance operations and regulations) are highly desirable.

    Relevant Experience

    • 4 years of relevant experience as an IT Enterprise Architect or a similar role leading and managing a team of IT architects.
