    Business Development Officer – Health Corporate Sales

    Job Description

    • The Business Development Officer - Health Corporate Sales will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the health sector, managing relationships with intermediaries, and driving sales growth for health insurance products. This role requires a deep understanding of the health insurance market, strong sales and negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.

    KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and potential clients within the health insurance sector.
    • Analyze industry trends, competitors, and customer needs to develop effective sales strategies.
    • Develop and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations tailored to client needs.
    • Collaborate with the Corporate Sales Manager to develop and implement sales plans to achieve business growth targets.
    • Set sales targets, forecast revenue, and monitor performance against targets.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for Intermediaries inquiries, issues, and feedback.
    • Lead contract negotiations with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for both the company and the client.
    • Close sales deals and ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Work closely with the underwriting, claims, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Coordinate with marketing teams to develop promotional materials and campaigns that support sales efforts.
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and contracts.
    • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market conditions, and business development activities.
    • Ensure all sales activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with client contracts and relationships

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with corporate clients.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field. A background in insurance is a plus.
    • At least 3-5 years of experience in sales or business development, preferably within the health insurance or financial services sector.
    • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

    Relationship Executive

    KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • End to end proactive management of Intermediaries and customer relationships for assigned portfolio of schemes.
    • Ensure superior customer experience is always provided to intermediaries/clients while working closely with other departments.
    • Track and report on delivery of OM Customer Service Charter to meet the NPS and NES targets
    • Contribute to the profitable growth of the portfolio based on set annual targets through profitable retention of existing business
    • Responsible for obtaining and providing correct market intelligence on renewal/Tender business to ensure it is correctly/competitively priced.
    • Proactively manage and reduce all costs including cost controls for adverse performing schemes.
    • Support on excess, undertakings, and premium collection.
    • Adhere to all the processes, procedures and controls set parameters.
    • Train and increase uptake of all automation initiatives by clients/intermediaries and having gained comprehensive understanding of the same. Demonstrate teamwork/spirit and continued personal development.
    • Any other duties that may be assigned by the management.

    Case Management Clinical Executive

    KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Pre-authorize scheduled and non-scheduled admissions within the set guidelines
    • Negotiate/discuss professional fees as appropriate for each admission
    • Set the appropriate parameters for each admission (claim reserve, initial authorized cost and duration)
    • Visit all admitted clients within Nairobi region and its environ
    • Liaise with Doctors on the day-to-day management of patients and obtain medical reports/ expected length of stay where indicated
    • Ensure smooth discharge process and co-ordinate any necessary post-hospitalization/ step down facility care
    • Revise reserves after discharge of member
    • Collect feedback from admitted clients on quality and scope of service by the service provider
    • Assist in carrying out verification and medical audit of claims/invoices before settlement
    • Develop and maintain monthly database on admissions, large claims and extended length of stay.
    • Respond to queries from clients, intermediaries and service providers
    • Liaise with other medical underwriter for purposes of market surveys and development of new controls, standards and products
    • Any other duty assigned by management

    • Diploma or Degree in Nursing                     
    • Diploma in Insurance/ COP
    • Degree in Health systems Management/ Business management 
    • 3 years’ experience in clinical setting +2 years in insurance set up
