    Humanitarian Fund Portfolio Manager

    S/he will directly manage two Humanitarian Fund Support Officers, who are the first point of contact and provide support for Regional, Country and National Offices for the management of applications from submission to monitoring (use of funds/ tracking of operational feedback) stages. The role will work closely with the HF Data & Reporting Manager to ensure the Humanitarian Fund systematically collects quality data enabling analysis at different levels.

    The HF enables Save the Children’s movement and specially country offices to plan, prepare for and deliver high quality humanitarian action for children when it is needed most and increase the visibility and transparency around decision-making. The HF managed $54 million in 2021, significantly increasing to a $200 million portfolio in 2022.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential

    • Higher level education degree, Masters or above, in a relevant field
    • Excellent financial literacy
    • Experience with monitoring systems, ideally at set-up and implementation
    • Management or monitoring experience of budget portfolios of +5M
    • Understanding of the financial aspects of award management, and understanding of operations and programming
    • Experience with award management policies, procedures and systems and Save the Children’s award management system (AMS)
    • Excellent planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a demanding workload comprised of diverse and challenging tasks and responsibilities
    • Very strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and ability to analyse trends
    • Computer literate (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, financial systems)
    • Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people
    • Patient, adaptable, able to improvise, and communicate clearly and effectively under pressure
    • Strong communication (written and spoken) in English, and strong interpersonal skills, with experience in managing multicultural teams
    • Think creatively and strategically to overcome obstacles to cooperation and progress

    Humanitarian Fund Data & Reporting Manager

    S/he will directly manage a Humanitarian Fund Reporting Officer, who will support with data quality checks, data analysis and the development of HF products. The Data & Reporting Manager will work closely with the HF Portfolio Manager to align with the application and monitoring components and making sure the HF systematically collects data that can be used to inform broader analysis.  

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 

    • Higher level education degree, Masters or above, in a relevant field 
    • Good financial literacy and analysis and experience conveying this in user-friendly messaging 
    • Proven project management experience in a humanitarian information and communications capacity 
    • Experience with monitoring, reporting and evaluations, especially with systems set-up at a global or regional level 
    • Experience analysing large amounts (multi- year and multi-country) of data 
    • Experience working in information management, communications or knowledge management 
    • Understanding of the project cycle, and understanding of operations and programming 
    • Demonstrated success in setting up new processes and ways of working specially with cross-functional groups 
    • Good understanding of global humanitarian work / policies / strategies with working knowledge of humanitarian affairs 
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to motivate and influence 
    • Proven ability to distil complex information and data into digestible and inspiring messages for diverse audiences 
    • Outstanding planning and organisational skills, with an ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple demands and competing priorities while maintaining high-quality standards 
    • Significant ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt work plans flexibly depending on external opportunities 
    • Experience with award management policies, procedures and systems and Save the Children’s award management system (AMS)
