    Assistant Business Development Manager

    Our client a credit-only Micro-Finance Company licensed in Kenya under the Company’s Act is looking for Assistant Business Development Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for formulation & execution of business strategy and reviewing existing products & processes with an objective to improving efficiency. The successful candidate must have experience in the financial sector.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in formulation & execution of business strategy.
    • Overall project management and coordination to ensure efficiency.
    • Establish a strong R&D department that will be responsible for research and identifying new business opportunities i.e new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services.
    • Create an innovation hub/incubator for creating, piloting & fine-tuning products & processes before launching.
    • Evaluating technical feasibility, design & optimization of process efficiency & productivity.
    • Coordinating with all other departments to ensure alignment of objectives especially project-wise and harmony.
    • Provide leadership & direction to direct reportees including coaching, appraisals and guidance.
    • Reviewing existing products & processes with an objective to improving efficiency.

    Qualifications:

    • Must have a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field from a recognized university.
    • Must have at least 4 years relevant work experience in a similar role.
    • Must have experience in the financial sector.
    • Previous work experience in audit/Consultancy preferred.

    Industrial Engineer 

    Our client, a growing company in shoe manufacturing is looking for an Industrial Engineer to be based on the North Coast. The successful candidate will provide focus on how to get the work done most efficiently, balancing many factors, such as time, number of workers needed, available technology, actions workers need to take, achieving the end product with no errors, workers’ safety, environmental concerns, and cost.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Preparation of operation bulletins and machine layouts for existing and new articles.
    • Conduct time and motion study in order to assist the production team in line balancing.
    • Ensure overtime is utilized only where required by the production team.
    • Maintaining operator performance records.
    • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures for important production processes.
    • Monitoring factory efficiencies and advising the production team on areas of improvement.
    • Costing of all styles including thread and other materials consumption.
    • Suggest innovative work aids and other ways of improving productivity.
    • Maintain a training log for the workers and measure their progress for promotion purposes.
    • Forecasting production capacity for future orders.
    • Check for absenteeism and assist the Production Executive to balance the absenteeism.
    • Maintain a Skill Matrix for all operators and match it with the operator capacities.
    • Improving the productivity level of workers through continuous-time and motion studies and undertake continuous training of the workforce.
    • Conduct start-of-shift meetings with the production team to set production targets for the shift.
    • Gather absenteeism data & assist the production team to balance the same.
    • Check and verify production reports before they are sent to the top management.
    • Ensure 6S standards are maintained at the workplace at all times.
    • Check hourly production boards to ensure they are filled up on time and accurately.
    • Ensure goods are produced as per plan to avoid excess inventory.
    • Train supervisors on the best production systems.
    • Do costing and other materials consumption for all articles.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in any science-related discipline preferred.
    • Diploma in a Technical discipline with at least 5 years’ experience as an Industrial Engineer.
    • Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
    • Must have at least 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
    • Strong operational background and experience working with operations team members to design & implement best practices & process improvement.
    • Deep understanding of manufacturing operations.
    • Experience in directing and supervising production personnel.
    • Ability to develop creative, executable ideas and strategies.

    Regional Sales Manager

    Our client, a dairy company that manufactures frozen dairy products, is looking to recruit a Regional Sales Manager to be based in Mombasa. The successful candidate will manage the company’s sales activities in Mombasa and wider region. The Sales Manager will join the organization’s management team and will be expected to drive sales growth in line with our approach, structures and market concept. In addition, the Sales Manager will play a significant role in the development and management of corporate relations with stakeholders in the local sales environment. He/she MUST have Prior experience supervising a team, preferably in FMCG with at least 3 Years of experience.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Drive new Sales Depot activation by organizing efforts related to identifying new stores and converting them into Sales Depots.
    • Oversee opening and launching of new Sales Depots through the supervisor in charge.
    • Organize onboarding of new sales staff. Work to ensure that the time from commissioning a new Sales Depot until it performs well is brought down.
    • Ensure proper implementation and adherence to processes at the new Sales Depots. Emphasize a keen “attention to detail” and accuracy with regards to the implementation of these processes.
    • Drive performance with an eye on sales data and KPIs of sales staff.
    • Based on stakeholder analysis, develop strategic partnerships with local stakeholders as a way to promote the company’s CSR activities and create buy-in amongst a wide range of authorities and partners with our approach (nutrition, garbage management, employment).
    • Develop and confidently pitch new initiatives to relevant external stakeholders. Drive the implementation of such initiatives and activities.
    • Drive the adoption of the company’s values and vision amongst the sales team by constantly communicating them when interacting with staff.
    • Identify the skills and knowledge gaps of the sales force and address them on the spot wherever possible.
    • Organize and oversee marketing-related events and coordinate with the rest of the team.

    Requirements:

    • Relevant bachelor’s degree.
    • Must have prior experience supervising a team in FMCG.
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
    • Have strong planning skills with experience setting and tracking monthly sales goals and forecasting future departmental needs.
    • Have project planning and management experience and have been able to implement multiple activities (events, initiatives, trainings) concurrently.
    • Be a team player who leads by example and excellent at listening and building trust and long–lasting relationships within teams and with external stakeholders.
    • Past experience and knowledge in addressing a wide range of performance issues in individuals and teams.
    • Have a good understanding of the business environment, culture and communities in Mombasa.
    • Have good interpersonal skills and are a great motivator.
