    Senior Finance and Budget Assistant (Temporary)

    • Prepare and analyze reports with a view to identify anomalies and unusual trends and recommend corrective action as appropriate.
    • Perform data extraction and prepare various reports for management review.
    • Respond to queries and draft correspondence in relation to budgetary and financial matters from management, clients (internal and external), auditors and other stakeholders.
    • Ensure that accurate and complete accounting; reporting and internal control systems are functioning.
    • Ensure that all relevant records and audit trails are maintained.
    • Act as team leader and provide day to day management and supervision, training and guidance to other General Services staff.
    • Assist in the planning of unit and team staff work plans, monitor and report performance against the plans.
    • Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.
    • Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures.
    • Knowledge retention and quality assurance focal point for the team.
    • Performs other related duties as required by Section or Unit Chief.

    Education

    Job - Specific Qualification

    • A recognized accountancy qualification (e.g. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountants (CIPFA) is desirable.

    Work Experience

    • A minimum of Ten (10) years of working experience in payroll, finance, budget or related area is required.
    • The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to eight (8) years for candidates who possess a first-level University degree.
    • Experience with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and finance system such as Oracle or SAP is desirable.
    • Experience with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) is desirable. Experience with integrated business processes, data analytics and reporting is desirable.

    Human Resources Officer (3 Months)

    Responsibilities

    • Provide guidance and advice to hiring managers on job design, language, skillsets, and levels.  
    • Identifying upcoming job openings in coordination with client offices.
    • Guide Hiring Managers in developing an effective sourcing strategy and outreach initiatives to attract the right talent for available positions.
    • Monitor applications and check the rate of candidates that match the hiring manager’s requirements and monitor diversity and Inclusion dimensions of the candidates.
    • Coordinate monitoring and compliance of the recruitment key performance indicators (KPI).
    • Reviewing draft job openings, conducting human resources assessments of applications, and monitoring recruitment actions in coordination with client divisions.
    • Reviewing recommendations on the selection of candidates by client offices with a view to ensuring conformity with UN staff selection system policies.
    • Serving as ex-officio /secretary to central review bodies; preparing and presenting cases to these bodies.
    • Advising Human Resources Assistants on recruitment related activities, including the preparation of job offers for successful candidates.

    • Keeping abreast of developments in various areas of human resources.
    • Providing advice on interpretation and application of policies, regulations and rules, including exceptions to such policies.

    • Preparing classification analysis of jobs in the Professional and General Service and related categories and provide guidance to programme managers on the application of classification policies and procedures.

    Education

    • Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in public or business administration, human resources management or related area is required.
    • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
    • Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.

    Work Experience

    • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management, administration or related area is required.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in talent acquisition and staffing in a global organisation is required.
    • At least 3 years’ experience at a professional level directly supervising a HR team is required.
    • Experience with PeopleSoft platforms, such as Inspira or equivalent is required.
    • Experience in the classification of functions to determine the right level is desirable.
    • Experience in Human Resources Management in the United Nations or similar international organization is desirable.
    • Two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

    Human Resource Assistant Intern

    The intern will

    • Provide support to the Global internship management process.
    • Maintain files, materials, information, schedules, and related data.
    • Support the induction process and check out briefing for national and international UNON/UNEP & UN Habitat interns.
    • Assist in the job opening process, evaluation, and screening of applicants in accordance with the eligibility process.
    • Assist in coordination of the onboarding and induction process of new interns by assisting the recruitment managers with shortlisting suitable candidates, scheduling and coordinating interviews and sending acceptance letters.
    • Manage email correspondence, prepare contract extension and renewal documents.
    • Coordinate the exit process of interns.
    • Research and prepare various statistical and qualitative reports, studies, correspondence, and background
    • Assist in processing HR data analytics and presenting reports using data visualization techniques and communicate results to and ideas to key decision makers.
    • Assist in research and development of statistical data models for data analysis.
    • Assist in coordination of mandatory learning of staff.

    Qualifications/special skills

    • Applicants must at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements:
    • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher),
    • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent),
    • Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent. Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
    • Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
    • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes a willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

    Preferred areas of study:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Administration, or any other related studies.
    • Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
    • However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

    Information Systems Officer

    Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic and operational leadership to Conference Facility technology, covering but not limited to: Conference Management and Simultaneous Interpretation Systems (CMSI), Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI), Audio-Visual (AV) Distribution and Control, AV Broadcasting and Recording Systems, Web Streaming, Video Conferencing, Digital Signage, Conference Operations, Conference Engineering and Maintenance.
    • Develop cost proposals for contractual services, oversee the technical evaluation of proposals received and manage the contract service related to conference technology and support.
    • Plan for phased and minimal upgrade of outdated AV and IT equipment in the existing conferencing facility to have uninterrupted conferences to ensure customer satisfaction until the new Gigiri Master Plan (GMP) project is implemented.
    • Contribute to the design phase and participate in the implementation of the GMP project together with the Project team and AV consultants. 
    • Track and monitor AV and ICT support requirements for upcoming conference support requirements against both approved calendar and non-calendar meetings. Monitor progress against plan, requirements, quality measures, standard processes and take corrective actions when required.
    • Provide professional leadership and work direction to assigned conference support team, and/or mentor and supervise the work of new/junior officers, contract staff, etc.
    • Propose policies, standards, and operating procedures to contribute towards a managed end-to-end conference technology support and ensure that compliance is maintained under his/her area of responsibility.
    • Manage, mentor, support and train staff including recruiting temporary and permanent staff, managing and maintaining rosters of temporary staff, conducting performance reviews, demonstrating dynamic leadership and promoting a customer-focused approach.
    • Develop, implement and monitor information standards and guidelines, including testing paradigms.
    • Prepare technical and user documentation for conferencing technology systems and interdependent applications; prepare training material and detailed technical presentations.
    • Keep abreast of developments in the field of conference technology, support and determine the need for testing and evaluating new products and technologies; provide leadership on introducing technological changes; prepare various technical reports.
    • Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables, and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting.
    • Perform related duties that are assigned by the Chief of the Section.

    Education

    • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics, business management or related field is required.
    • A first-level degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies with two (2) additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
    • Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.

    Job - Specific Qualification

    • Supplemental certifications in the AV, fields such as Certified Technology Specialist (CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I), Dante, Shure/DIS, AMX etc. are required. Supplemental certifications in the ICT & Project Management fields such as ITIL, Prince 2 or PMP are required.

    Work Experience

    • A minimum of Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in planning, design, development, operation and maintenance of large-scale Conference Management and Simultaneous Interpretation (CMSI) systems with 1,500+ delegate positions is required.
    • Experience with Remote Simultaneous Interpretation (RSI) platforms, AV Distribution and Control, AV Broadcasting and Recording Systems, Web Streaming, Video Conferencing & Digital Signage is required.
    • AV experience in an international organization is desirable.
    • Two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
