    Communication Assistant, G5 (Un Kenya Common Roster - Multiple Positions & Duty Stations)

    Responsibilities

    • Main Duties: To perform general administrative and some specialized communications processes that support the creation of communications content and the delivery of communications services aimed at maintaining and enhancing organization’s visibility and reputation and supporting fundraising activities.
    • Provide coordination, administrative and specialized services, to support staff in the development, preparation and execution of communications campaigns for target audiences.

    Senior Human Resource Assistant/ Associate

    Responsibilities

    • Within delegated authority, the Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for the following duties: Recruitment and placement
    • Participates in the selection of candidates for secretarial, clerical and related categories positions, including evaluating and screening applications of such candidates, preparing profiles of candidates, and conducting preliminary interviews, and conducting roster searches for vacancies and identifying short-list of candidates.

    Responsibilities

    • Main Duties: Code, record and reconcile accounting transactions.
    • Reconcile moderately complex bank accounts in various currencies.

    GENERAL:

    Protocol Officer

    Responsibilities

    • Within the delegated authority, the Protocol Officer will be responsible for performing the following duties: Provides protocol services for meetings and events involving Senior UN officials as well as for high-level visits by government dignitaries as appropriate. A
    • ssists the Chief of Office in ensuring adherence to the various aspects of UN protocol in organizing bilateral meetings and liaises with counterparts in Permanent Missions and Intergovernmental Organizations to confirm arrangements and coordinates with relevant UNON entities on Protocol related matters.

    • Performs other related duties as required.

    Education

    • An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in international relations, political science, public administration or related fields is required.
    • A first-level degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

    Work Experience

    • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in protocol, diplomatic service, external relations or a related area is required.
    • Experience in an international organization, foreign service and/or the United Nations System is desirable. Work experience in the area of protocol or event management in a multilateral setting is desirable.

    Security Lieutenant (Multiple)

    Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership to the team by; planning assignments of the members during scheduled shifts; give instructions to the members and ensure that uniforms, communications equipment, and other kits necessary for duty are provided and ensure that posts are properly and effectively manned and duties properly executed.

    Work Experience

    • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the security operation within the UN Security Service, including investigation, physical security, personal protection, strategic and operational planning, fire prevention and suppression, emergency medical and hazardous material response, video imaging badge systems or related area is required.
    • The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to five (5) years for candidates who possess a first level University degree.
    • At least three (3 ) years experience in the National Police Force or Military Service is required.
    • At least three (3) years in a supervisory role in security and safety services in the UN system or similar international organization is required.
    • Experience in providing security coordination and administrative support for an International Organization is desirable.
