    Associate Finance Officer [temporary]

    Competencies

    Education

    • Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Business Administration or related fields is required.

    • Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.

    Work Experience

    • Experience in preparation of financial statements, management of accounts payable and leadership of teams is required.
    • Experience in Treasury Functions and/or Grants Management is desirable.
    • One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable (none if successful YPP or P-1 with a related degree).

    Languages

    • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.

    Education

    • Passing the Global General Service Test (GGST) is a prerequisite for recruitment consideration in the General Services and related categories in the United Nations Secretariat. Successful passing of the Administrative Support Assessment Test (ASAT) in English at the United Nations Headquarters (UNHQ), Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) or International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) may be
    • accepted in lieu of the GGST. The GGST is administered to applicants when required before the administration of a written assessment and/or interview.

    Work Experience

    • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant progressively responsible work experience in Property Management, Property Control and Inspection, Property Disposal, Receiving and Inspection or similar position is required.
    • Experience working with IPSAS, Umoja Database, Receiving and Inspection and Property Disposal with relevant roles is required.
    • Experience in managing and maintaining data in computerized databases is required.
    • Experience in receiving/shipping for IT and Non-IT assets is desirable
    • Experience supporting more than one entity or multiple clients simultaneously is desirable.
    • Experience in providing property management/logistics support services in an international organization is desirable.
    • One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

    Languages

    • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position(s) advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required. Working knowledge of another UN language is desirable.
