    Accountants (4 Positions)

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum C+ in KCSE or Equivalent
    • CPA(K)
    • Degree in Cooperatives Management or Business Related Field will be an added advantage

    EXPERIENCE

    • At least three years’ accounting or audit work experience preferably in SACCOs/Banking/ Microfinance or Insurance.
    • Demonstrable work experience with specific groups such as farmers and business community is compulsory.

    SKILLS REQUIRED

    The holder of the office of the Branch Accountant position must:

    1. Be of exemplary integrity and honesty
    2. Be empathetic to customer needs and excellent communication skills
    3. Knowledge of Accounting Practices – GAAPs/regulations/taxation and well informed about SACCO matters/knowledge of General Business Practices.
    4. Proficiency in Accounting Software.
    5. Ability to Prepare Financial Statements.
    6. Have excellent, analytical and report writing skills
    7. Be a team player and able to contribute in the team
    8. Be adaptable and willing to learn
    9. Be self-motivated

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Responsible for all payments and receipts in the branch.
    • Safe custody of accountable documents.
    • Certify and supervise drawing of cheques and payment vouchers
    • Ensure correct posting into member personal accounts.
    • Ensure correct fees are charged in the member personal accounts
    • Preparation of the branch financial reports and ensuring strong internal control system.
    • Preparation of the branch budget and ensure budgetary control in the branch.
    • Reconciliation of general ledger and members personal accounts.
    • Serve all the customers with the diligence and effectiveness.
    • Physical cash and store verification.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisors from time to time.

    Micro Credit Officer (1 Position)

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum C+ in KCSE or Equivalent
    • Diploma in Cooperatives Management (must)
    • Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Marketing, Business Administration/Management, Cooperative Management or Entrepreneurship.
    • Professional Qualifications in Credit Management, Accounting, Marketing, OR related fields will be an added advantage

    EXPERIENCE

    • At least three years’ work experience preferably in SACCOs/Banking/ Microfinance or Insurance.

    SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Passion and commitment to quality service performance;
    • Ability to work/communicate with various customer segments such as farmers, business persons, employed and professionals.
    • Excellent training, leadership and management skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, delegating when appropriate.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • In charge of growth and quality of micro-credit sector at organization level
    • Monitoring the micro credit portfolio on trends and warning signs.
    • Ensure that the branches are proactive and effective in monitoring the micro-credit portfolio
    • Enhancement of pre-loan and post loan approval compliance
    • Ensure implementation of overall micro-credit strategies as well as enhancement of credit policy compliance.
    • Ensure compliance of micro-credit guidelines by the Sacco.
    • Analyzing the micro-credit segment products and availing reports.
    • ause marketing in the branches to recruit more members and groups to the Sacco
    • Reviewing and analyzing the clients credit risk status and offering expert advice to the credit department and other relevant officers.
    • Causing loan monitoring and risk management with aim of avoiding credit defaulters and interest suspension.
    • Stay abreast on new types of loans and other financial services and products in order to better meet members’ needs.
    • Ensuring safe custody of the micro-credit documents and items from the branches.
    • Any other duty assigned by superiors from time to time.

    Branch Manager’s (3 Positions)

    • To plan, organize and co-ordinate activities in the Branch and ensure efficient and effective operation and service to the members.
    • Ensure proper operation procedures, policies and guidelines are adhered to.
    • Supervise the preparation of daily and monthly reconciliation, monthly trial balances, monthly and quarterly reports on reconciliation and development of savings, loans, portfolio at risk, liquidity reserve and proper action on such information.
    • To grow the Branch membership as per the set annual targets.
    • To ensure the retention of the branch membership every year as per the Sacco business plan.
    • To carryout aggressive marketing to institutions and individual members within the Branch catchment area.
    • To ensure consistent and steady uptake of Sacco products and services by the Sacco members.
    • To grow the Branch loan book as per the set annual targets as well as maintain a healthy loan portfolio.
    • To increase the number of loanees by the percentage rate set on annual basis.
    • To enhance branch staff productivity through performance and talent management (ensure full utilization of staff)
    • Ensure the safe custody of all valuable documents and items at the branch.
    • Any other duty assigned by superiors from time to time.
