    Anatomy Technologist

    Key responsibilities also include

    • Prepare, conducting and supervising practicals to students.
    • Coordinate and plan laboratory activities for students and participate in research and student projects.
    • Ensuring good laboratory practices operations and safety in the laboratory.
    • Cadaver acquisition, preservation, maintenance, use, and disposal as per schedule.
    • Ensure accurate record keeping and inventory updates especially integrity and confidentiality of all cadaveric records.
    • Preparation and maintenance of prossected specimens and bones.
    • Assisting in setting up OSCE and viva voce sessions for anatomy examinations.
    • Ensure routine and accurate calibration of laboratory equipment and maintenance.
    • General maintenance of the anatomy and histology  
    • Preparation and maintenance of histological slides.

    Requirements

    • BSc in Medical Laboratory Science
    • A Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science
    • Certificate in Mortuary Sciences from an accredited university with experience in preparations of human anatomy /pathology specimen.
    • Over 4 years’ experience in a similar position.
    • Experience working in a similar environment as Human Anatomy/histology Laboratory Technologist in an institution of higher learning is an added advantage.
    • Registered by a regulatory body as Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians Board.

    Deputy Director Human Resource

    Qualification

    • PhD in Human Resource Management
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Senior Human Resources Officer in MKU or in a higher learning institution/ reputable organization at a similar position

    OR

    • Master’s degree in Human Resource Management
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Senior Human Resources Officer in MKU or in a higher learning institution/ reputable organization.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Formulating and implementing human resource and administration strategies and systems to drive MKU corporate strategy.
    • Talent and Knowledge management.
    • Total reward and benefits management
    • Human capital development.
    • Employee and Industrial relations
    • Drive people and the University culture and change transformation.
    • Staff grievance and disciplinary policy framework.
    • Participate in the improvement of the University.
    • Oversee implementation of Performance and reward management systems.
    • Oversee the implementation of an effective human resource management information system.
    • Drive internal staff engagement and communication strategy

    Requirement

    • Be registered with IHRM.

    Senior Human Resource Officer

    Qualification

    • A Master’s Degree in HR
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Human Resources Officer in MKU or in a higher learning institution/ reputable organization.
    • Be registered with IHRM.

    OR

    • A Bachelor’s degree in HR /Business Studies or Social Sciences
    • More than five (5) years of experience at job group 10 within MKU or in a higher learning institution/ reputable organization.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist with developing, updating and implementing Human resource policies and procedure.
    • Act as a key point of contact for line managers for employee relations issues and provide advice and guidance in line with the University policies, procedures, employment law and best practice.
    • Ensure compliance with the legal and statutory requirements.
    • Support and coach line managers through all aspects of Human Resource management and employment law to build their capacity.
    • Help to manage core Human Resources services in a professional and efficient manner.
    • Provide front line support and advice on all people related issues.
    • Any other duties as may be allocated

    Requirement

    • Be a registered member of IHRM
