    Narok County Government was formed by the County Governments Act of 2012 as prescribed in the 2010 Constitution of Kenya. It is one of the 47 devolved units situated in the Great Rift Valley in the Southern part of the Country where it boarders the republic of Tanzania. Narok County has its headquarters in Narok Town, off Narok Nakuru Road.     Municipal Manager

    The Municipal Manager shall be the Administrative Head of the Municipality of Kilgoris.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Implement the decisions and functions of the Municipal Board.
    • Responsible for proper conduct of executive and administrative work and affairs of the Municipality.
    • Attend all the municipal Board meetings.
    • Mark reports and recommendations to the Municipal Board.
    • Administer and enforce all Municipality by - laws and other directives .
    • Encourage and support regional and InterGovernmental Cooperation.
    • Perform other duties as directed by the Municipal Board.

    Requirements for Appointment

    The Municipal Manager shall

    • Be a citizen of Kenya.
    • Hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya or its equivalent.
    • Have served and had proven experience in administration or management either in public or private sector fora term of at least five years.
    • Satisfy the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

    County Chief Officer : Urban Planning

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • The Chief Officer will be the accounting and authorized Officer for the Department of Urban planning The Officer, reporting to County Executive Member in charge of Lands Housing, and Urban Development, will be responsible for the following: -
    • General administration and coordination of the Department.
    • Initiation, development and implementation of policies and sector plans.
    • Development and implementation of Departmental strategic plans.
    • Promotion of National values and principles of good governance as outlined in Article 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya.
    • Overseeing management of finances, preparing of budget estimates, annual work plans and programmes.
    • Any other duty as may be assigned by the Governor, Deputy Governor or the Executive Committee Member from time to time.

    Requirements for appointment

    • Bea Kenyan Citizen
    • Be a holder of at least a first degree in the relevant field from a university recognized in Kenya.
    • A Master's degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage.
    • Posses’ professional qualification in the relevant field.
    • Have relevant knowledge and experience of not less than ten (10) years in a senior position in the Public Service or Private Sector in the portfolio applied for.
    • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of devolution, the County Development objectives and vision 2030.
    • Be a strategic thinker and result oriented.
    • Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity.
    • Be computer literate,
    • Must be conversant with Computerized Accounting Packages.
    • Those with IFRS knowledge will have an added advantage.
