    Executive Support Associate (Risk Management)

    Organizational Setting and Work Relationships

    The position of Executive Support Associate is located within a Division/Bureau or Office of the Representation/Head of Office. The role of this position is to provide administrative and secretarial support services to the Head of Office or immediate Supervisor, in order to ensure the smooth running of the Office and its flow and management of administrative and routinely information. This would involve direct contact with other staff members and contacts with the teams of high ranking officials, both within and outside UNHCR. The incumbent prioritizes tasks and organises work independently based on direction from the Supervisor and has access to highly sensitive and confidential information.

    All UNHCR staff members are accountable to perform their duties as reflected in their job description. They do so within their delegated authorities, in line with the regulatory framework of UNHCR which includes the UN Charter, UN Staff Regulations and Rules, UNHCR Policies and Administrative Instructions as well as relevant accountability frameworks. In addition, staff members are required to discharge their responsibilities in a manner consistent with the core, functional, cross-functional and managerial competencies and UNHCR¿s core values of professionalism, integrity and respect for diversity.

    Duties

    • Arrange appointments and maintain Supervisor¿s calendar, ensure attendance and well set up of meeting rooms, and screen telephone calls.
    • Arrange meetings with high-ranking officials and official receptions given by the Supervisor.
    • Ensure that high-level visitors are appropriately informed, that they receive background information as necessary, and that the necessary protocols are respected.
    • Manage the flow of information to/from the Supervisor and other senior staff; identify priority matters that need to be urgently addressed or signed by the Supervisor. Follow up to ensure that appropriate administrative action is being taken by senior managers on tasks determined by the Supervisor.
    • Prepare briefing materials for Supervisor for official trips or special meetings including agenda, travel details and background documents prepared by the Executive Assistant.
    • Prepare informal translations if required.
    • Receive screen, log and route correspondence, attach necessary background information and maintain follow-up system.
    • Draft non-substantive correspondence and ensure follow-up.
    • Type correspondence, documents and reports, etc., some of which are highly confidential.
    • Select and make pertinent abstracts and undertake searches for information.
    • Maintain a file management system according to UNHCR policies, including general and confidential files.
    • Keep lists of names, addresses and telephone numbers of ministers, government officials and members of the diplomatic corps.
    • Ensure administrative procedures (travel, hospitality expenses, etc.) will be timely concluded.
    • Perform other related duties as required.

    Senior IG Associate (Digital) (UNOPS LICA7)

    Duties And Qualifications

    Will assist in PSP Africa¿s digital fundraising and donor development programs. This includes:

    • Optimizing all aspects of digital, fundraising and marketing including paid media approaches, lead generation and conversion campaigns, and digital supporter retention and development activities (including email and SMS marketing);
    • Developing new testing strategies and optimization mechanisms to ensure effective growth and ROI from digital fundraising activities;
    • Assist in developing the strategy and execution of digital marketing in key regions;
    • Assist in the set-up of digital marketing tests (including set up of infrastructure and tagging), manage and optimize paid media activities, monitor fundraising results and optimize paid marketing activities, and develop follow up donor journeys and e-appeals;
    • Assist in conversion strategies to convert non-financial supporters into donors;
    • Use paid digital media, mobile money, SMS, email and other digital channels and techniques effectively to convert and retain new donors;
    • Ensure digital fundraising opportunities are effectively capitalized on during emergencies and key media moments;
    • Support the Regional Digital Marketing Officer to manage the relationship with the regional digital media agency and feedback on digital media plans and campaign reports to ensure that digital acquisition targets are being effectively met;
    • Support with the development and coordination of regional digital campaigns and initiatives for lead generation and donor acquisition;
    • Follow and identify digital trends and tools that can impact UNHCR¿s digital engagement approach in Africa;
    • Assist in development of annual plans and investment applications for digital marketing activities;
    • Monitor digital fundraising channel budgets and income and ensure that digital budgets are being used effectively to meet long and short-term fundraising KPIs. Ensure accurate reporting and monitoring;
    • Produce internal reporting related to digital, including quarterly fundraising reports;
    • The individual contractor will closely monitor, track and analyse online trends and flag for conversion, repeat donors and donations above a certain threshold to grow donors;
    • Advising on suitable measurement strategies;
    • Benchmarking performance across all online channels and advising on KPIs;
    • Using methodical performance analysis to influence/support campaign strategies;
    • Reporting on key metrics, analysing and interpreting trends and providing actionable insights based on available analytics data;
    • Analysing the effect of different online and offline channels on each other and developing and implementing innovative strategies for improvement and growth mobile money fundraising;
    • Analysing donor user behaviour, conversion data and customer journeys, funnel analysis and multi-channel attribution;
    • Performing ROI analysis to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of different marketing campaigns;
    • Performing ad-hoc analytics and conversion optimisation for digital fundraising and influencing conversion optimisation strategies with solid analytical data;
    • Using available data sources to deep dive and troubleshoot campaign (and overall) performance issues and propose methodical optimisation tests, both on-site and campaign based to grow donations.

        Education (Level and area of required and/or preferred education)

    • A bachelor¿s degree or secondary school education with post-secondary training/certificate or its equivalent in a technical or commercial school with course work/training in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Advertising or related field.

        Work Experience

    • 2 years of relevant work experience in combination with a bachelor¿s degree (4 years with High School Diploma);
    • Experience working in a digital marketing or professional services setting;

    • Knowledge and experience generating correct and insightful reports for making effective business decisions;
    • Possess strong critical thinking skill, and ability to apply it to analyzing data and solving problems;

    PSP Social Media Intern

    Duties and Qualifications

    • Assist in co-creating engaging weekly content calendar;
    • Support the moderation of online forums and discussions while driving traffic to PSP Africa donate landing pages;
    • Assist in responding to questions/comments on social media;
    • Assist in populating bi-weekly online engagement reports and track performance against media spends;
    • Assist in the curation and editing of content (vertical stories, videos, blog) for social media channels;

    Eligibility

    • Excellent writing and editing skills with fluency in English. Knowledge in French is a plus.
    • Have good computer skills and be able to learn quickly on using new applications. Prior exposure to using Salesforce is a plus.
    • Strong understanding of Excel and ability to comfortably use Excel to generate analytics.
    • Have excellent research and organizational skills.
    • Knowledge and solid understanding of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.

    Additional Information

    Status of the intern and insurance

    Interns are neither staff members under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations, nor officials within the meaning of the Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the United Nations of 13 February 1946, as interns are not remunerated for their work. As of 1 June 2018, interns that do not receive financial support from an outside party will receive a monthly Food and Local Transportation Allowance equivalent.

    Interns may not represent UNHCR in any official capacity.

    Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of the intern or his/her sponsoring institution. However, UNHCR will help with the visa application if applicable and advise accordingly.

    Interns are not subject to UN security evacuation procedures but may be assisted to leave the country when possible and to the extent feasible.

    Interns are fully responsible for arranging medical insurance covering their full internship period. Interns will be requested to show proof of valid medical (and life/accident) insurance for the duty station. It must include adequate coverage in the event of an injury or illness during the internship. UNHCR accepts no responsibility for the medical and life insurance of the intern or costs arising from accidents and illness incurred during an internship. As interns are not covered under any insurance, they should not travel to hazardous locations in the course of their internship with UNHCR.

    Interns will not engage in any activity that is incompatible with the aims and objectives of UNHCR.

    Interns will maintain confidentiality of all unpublished information made known to them during the internship and will not publish any reports on the basis of information obtained during the period without prior written permission of UNHCR.
