    Geographic Information System (GIS) Officer

    JOB SUMMARY

    The GIS Officer will support the water company’s planning, operations, and asset management functions by developing, managing, and analyzing spatial data related to water supply and wastewater infrastructure. The role is responsible for maintaining accurate geospatial records of networks and assets, producing maps and reports for decision-making, and supporting field and engineering teams with spatial analysis and data-driven insights.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Develop, maintain, and update GIS databases for water supply and sewerage networks, treatment facilities, and other infrastructure.
    • Capture, validate, and manage spatial and attribute data from field surveys, drawings, and engineering records.
    • Produce maps, layouts, dashboards, and spatial reports to support planning, operations,
    • maintenance, and project implementation.
    • Support asset management by mapping pipelines, valves, meters, hydrants, reservoirs, pump stations, and related assets.
    • Perform spatial analysis to support network expansion planning, leakage detection, pressure zoning, service coverage, and risk assessments.
    • Integrate GIS with other information systems (e.g., asset management systems, billing systems, SCADA where applicable).
    • Provide GIS support to field teams, including data collection tools (e.g., mobile GIS) and map products for operations and maintenance.
    • Ensure data quality, version control, backups, and adherence to GIS standards and metadata practices.
    • Prepare technical documentation and periodic GIS reports for management and regulatory or project reporting.
    • Train and provide basic GIS support to staff across departments.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information System (GIS), Geo Informatics, Geospatial Science, Geography, Surveying, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
    • At least [2–5] years of relevant experience in GIS operations, preferably in utilities, water, infrastructure, or engineering environments.
    • Proficiency in common GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial databases.
    • Experience in handling GPS/field data collection and digitizing network infrastructure from drawings and plans.
    • Basic knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure systems is an added advantage.

    KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    • Strong spatial data management and cartographic skills.
    • Practical experience with spatial analysis, geoprocessing, and map production.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality assurance.
    • Ability to work with engineering drawings, as-built plans, and asset registers.
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain GIS outputs to non-technical users.

    Marketing Assistant Officer

    JOB SUMMARY

    • The Marketing Officer shall be responsible for coordinating, developing and executing marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and drive revenue growth for the Company products and services which include but not limited to printing work, Bibles, books, drinking water and translation services.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Conducting marketing activities which includes customers’ activation for both new/dormant connection as per the Company set targets within a specific time frame in all the schemes
    • Developing and implementing both internal and external marketing strategies in liaison with Senior Marketing Officer
    • Liaising with other Scheme managers in organizing marketing promotional events to capture potential markets
    • Conducting marketing research to identify gaps and opportunities to reach customer target groups to improve on revenue collection.
    • Ensuring that monitoring /analyzing the impact of marketing campaigns and prepare monthly/quarterly reports to your immediate supervisor
    • Writing marketing literature (brochures, press release etc.) to augment the Company’s presence in the market in liaison with the Senior Marketing Officer

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

    • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Proven track record of success in sales and marketing roles of at least three years.

    Plant Operators - (3 Post)

    JOB SUMMARY

    • This position will treat water and operate equipment at the treatment facility through the maintenance of inlet works, oxidation ditches and clarifiers to make them function as required.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Responsible for daily water production, treatment and distribution of treated water to reservoir and customer’s network.
    • Check dosing pumps and pump operation rates and ensure they are functional and operational always
    • Prepare and regulate the chemical solutions to the right quantities as advised by the Laboratory technologist
    • In consultation with the Scheme Manager, make adjustments needed to maintain set quality standards of treated water after water analysis.
    • Maintain chlorine residuals, check chemical dosage and collect samples for testing.
    • Assess equipment performance and carry out routine plant checks for leaks and water backups.
    • Take hourly readings of various parameters at the Plant.
    • Carry out water treatment activities ensuring that all treatment units are working efficiently.
    • Carry out regular cleaning of the treatment units such as filter backwashing, sedimentation or dislodging etc.
    • Clean inlet works and mixing chambers
    • Ensure cleanliness and safety of treatment/intake plants and its surrounding.
    • Any other duty that might be assigned by management/immediate supervisor

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Certificate in Water Engineering, Water Management or Trade test Grade (from (KEWI)or any recognized institution.
    • Two years working experience in water sector.

    • Good Communication skills.
    • Knowledge of operating pumps

    Assistant Zonal Officers (Plumbers) - (10 Post)

    JOB SUMMARY

    • The Plumber Officer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of water supply and distribution systems to ensure continuous, safe, and reliable service to customers. The role involves responding to leaks and bursts, maintaining service connections, and supporting network operations to minimize water losses and service interruptions.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Install, repair, and maintain water supply pipelines, service connections, meters, valves, hydrants, and related fittings.
    • Respond to and repair pipe bursts, leaks, and other faults in the distribution network within agreed response times.
    • Carry out routine inspection and preventive maintenance of water infrastructure to reduce breakdowns and water losses.
    • Support new connections, disconnections, reconnections, and customer service requests.
    • Assist in pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning of new pipelines and installations.
    • Read and interpret simple drawings, layouts, and work orders.
    • Record completed works, materials used, and report faults or network issues to supervisors.
    • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational procedures while on duty.
    • Provide basic guidance to customers on proper use of water connections and plumbing systems.
    • Work with engineers, technicians, and other field staff to support maintenance and rehabilitation projects.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Certificate or Diploma in Plumbing, Water Technology, Mechanical Engineering (craft level), or a related technical field.
    • Trade test or recognized plumbing certification is an added advantage.
    • At least [1–3] years of practical experience in plumbing or water supply systems, preferably in a utility or construction environment.

    KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    • Strong hands-on plumbing and pipe-fitting skills.
    • Ability to detect, diagnose, and fix leaks, bursts, and blockages.
    • Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
    • Basic record-keeping and reporting skills.

    Assistant Enforcement Officers

    JOB SUMMARY

    • The Enforcement / Security Officer will protect the water company’s assets, infrastructure, staff, and customers by preventing illegal connections, vandalism, meter tampering, and water theft.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

    • Conduct patrols and inspections of water infrastructure such as pipelines, reservoirs, treatment plants, pump stations, and meter installations.
    • Identify, investigate, and report illegal connections, meter tampering, vandalism, and water theft.
    • Enforce company regulations, by-laws, and service agreements in a professional and lawful manner.
    • Support disconnections and reconnections in line with company policy and legal requirements.
    • Provide security at water facilities, offices, and project sites as required.
    • Record incidents, collect basic evidence, and prepare reports for management and legal or disciplinary action.
    • Work closely with customer service, technical teams, and local authorities when handling enforcement cases.
    • Sensitize customers and communities on compliance with water regulations and protection of water infrastructure.
    • Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and complaints related to unauthorized access or damage to assets.
    • Ensure personal conduct complies with company ethics, safety standards, and human rights principles.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Certificate or Diploma in Security Management, Criminology, Law Enforcement, Public Administration, or a related field.
    • Previous experience in security, enforcement, utilities, or community compliance roles is an added advantage.
    • Training in basic investigation, evidence handling, or conflict management is an added advantage.
    • No criminal record and good standing with relevant authorities (where applicable).

    KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    • Strong integrity and professionalism.
    • Good observation, investigation, and reporting skills.
    • Ability to handle conflict calmly and respectfully.
    • Basic knowledge of laws, by-laws, and compliance procedures.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or emergencies when required
