    Business Development Manager – Institutions

    Job Ref. No: JAML025

    Role Purpose:

    The Business Development Manager – Institutions is responsible for driving the growth and development of institutional client relationships within Jubilee Asset Management Limited. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with institutional clients, and developing tailored solutions to meet their investment needs. The role holder will collaborate closely with the business development team to support the overall growth strategy of the firm.

    Main Responsibilities:
    Institutional Client Acquisition and Management

    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with institutional clients, including pension funds, insurance companies, foundations, saccos, and corporate entities.
    • Develop and implement effective strategies to acquire, retain, and expand relationships with institutional clients.
    • Ability to generate 250 Mn in sales per month through the identified pipeline.
    • Conduct thorough needs assessments and provide tailored investment solutions to meet the specific requirements of institutional clients.

    Relationship Building and Maintenance

    • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within institutional clients.
    • Conduct regular meetings and presentations to update clients on market trends, investment performance, and portfolio strategies.
    • Ensure exceptional client service by addressing client inquiries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.

    Strategic Planning and Execution

    • Collaborate with the Head of Business Development – HNWI & Institutions to develop and execute the business development strategy for institutional clients.
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities and threats.
    • Prepare and deliver strategic presentations, proposals, and reports to senior management and clients.

     Product Development and Customization

    • Work closely with the investment team to develop and customize investment products and solutions that meet the unique needs of institutional clients.
    • Provide feedback and insights from clients to inform the development of new products and enhancements to existing offerings.
    • Ensure that all product offerings are compliant with relevant regulations and industry standards.

    Collaboration and Teamwork

    • Collaborate with other members of the business development team to share insights, best practices, and market intelligence.
    • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to support the overall growth and success of the firm.

    Corporate Governance (Regulatory and Compliance):

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies related to asset management activities.
    • Establish and maintain effective internal control systems and risk management frameworks.
    • Keep abreast of regulatory changes and communicate their impact on the company.
    • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards.

    Academic Background & Relevant Qualifications:

    • Professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Institute of Securities & Investments (CISI) qualification would be an added advantage.
    • Proven experience (at least 5-7 years) in asset management, with a strong understanding of investment strategies, Investment products and financial markets
    • Proven experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies, managing brand reputation, and executing successful marketing campaigns.

    Private Wealth Advisors

    Role Purpose

    The role holder is responsible for delivering personalized financial advice and wealth management services to high-networth individuals (HNWI). This role involves building and maintaining strong client relationships, developing tailored financial strategies, and collaborating with the business development team to support the growth of the HNWI client base. The Private Wealth Advisor ensures that clients receive exceptional service and guidance to achieve their financial goals.

    Main Responsibilities
    Client Relationship Management

    • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with HNWI clients.
    • Understand clients' financial needs, risk tolerance, and goals to provide personalized financial advice and solutions.
    • Conduct regular reviews of client portfolios to ensure alignment with financial objectives and market conditions.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries and requests.

    Financial Planning and Advisory

    • Develop comprehensive financial plans tailored to the unique needs of HNWI clients.
    • Provide expert advice on a range of financial products and services, including equities, fixed income, alternative investments, and insurance solutions.
    • Monitor and evaluate investment performance, recommending adjustments as necessary to optimize client portfolios.

    Business Development

    • Collaborate with the Head of Business Development – HNWI & Institutions to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
    • Participate in networking events, seminars, and other activities to expand the firm's client base and enhance its market presence.
    • Develop and execute client acquisition strategies to attract and retain HNWI clients.
    • Ability to generate 100 Mn in sales per month through your identified pipeline.

    Compliance and Risk Management

    • Ensure all client interactions and transactions comply with relevant regulations, company policies, and  ethical standards.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including financial plans, investment proposals, and communications.
    • Identify and manage potential risks associated with client portfolios, providing proactive solutions and recommendations.

    Team Collaboration and Professional Development

    • Work closely with other members of the business development and investment teams to deliver a cohesive and integrated client experience.
    • Stay current with market trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes to provide informed advice to clients.
    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in wealth management and financial advisory services.

    Corporate Governance

    • Compliance: Stay updated on industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
    • Adherence to the laws and regulations of Kenya, the policies and regulations within the Asset Management industry and all internal company policies and procedures.
    • Ensuring compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements and establishing mitigation measures against emerging business risks.
    • Implement effective risk management strategies, including appropriate internal controls, to mitigate operational, financial, and regulatory risks.

    • Proven track record of success in onboarding and managing high-net-worth client relationships.
