    Lecturer II (Mortuary Science) - KMTC 8 - AN- Scale -KMTC 8

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Duties at this level will include: Teaching and evaluating students; preparing schemes of work, lesson notes and lesson plans; Assessing students in clinical areas; Guiding and counselling students in matters related to their academics; Supporting the designing and development instruments to assess health training needs; Developing guidelines for evaluation of health teaching materials for different health fields; Evaluating training programmes to determine their effectiveness and relevance with present and future health needs in the area of specialization; Implementing of competence based curriculum; Planning and organizing continuing education programmes for health workers in relevant areas; Conducting research in area of specialization, operational research and supervising students on research projects; and Participating in formulating and implementing new training strategies.

    Requirements for Appointment:

    For appointment to this level a candidate must have; - 

    •  Bachelor of Science in Mortuary Science

    OR

    • KMTC Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery (Clinical Forensic Medicine) and practiced in the profession for a minimum of six (6) years;
    •  Been registered with the relevant professional body where applicable; 
    • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution;
    • Proficiency in computer applications.

    Lecturer II (Emergency Medical Technology) - 5 Posts

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Duties at this level will include: Teaching and evaluating students; preparing schemes of work, lesson notes and lesson plans; Assessing students in clinical areas; Guiding and counselling students in matters related to their academics; Supporting the designing and development instruments to assess health training needs; Developing guidelines for evaluation of health teaching materials for different health fields; Evaluating training programmes to determine their effectiveness and relevance with present and future health needs in the area of specialization; Implementing of competence based curriculum; Planning and organizing continuing education programmes for health workers in relevant areas; Conducting research in area of specialization, operational research and supervising students on research projects; and Participating in formulating and implementing new training strategies

    Requirements for Appointment:

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine, Medicine and Surgery or Paramedicine; 

    OR

    • KMTC Higher Diploma in Emergency and Critical Care and practiced in their relevant field for a minimum period of six (6) years;
    • Been registered with the relevant professional body where applicable; 
    • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution;
    • Proficiency in computer applications.

    Lecturer II (Health Insurance) - KMTC 8 - AN- Scale -KMTC 8

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Duties at this level will include: Teaching and evaluating students; preparing schemes of work, lesson notes and lesson plans; Assessing students in clinical areas; Guiding and counselling students in matters related to their academics; Supporting the designing and development instruments to assess health training needs; Developing guidelines for evaluation of health teaching materials for different health fields; Evaluating training programmes to determine their effectiveness and relevance with present and future health needs in the area of specialization; Implementing of competence based curriculum; Planning and organizing continuing education programmes for health workers in relevant areas; Conducting research in area of specialization, operational research and supervising students on research projects; and Participating in formulating and implementing new training strategies.

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

    • Bachelor of Science in any of the following fields: Health Insurance, Health Systems Management and Economics, Health Systems Management, 

    OR 

    • KMTC Higher Diploma in Health Systems Management and has practiced in the relevant field for a minimum of 6 years
    •  Been registered with the relevant professional body where applicable; 
    •  Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution;
    • Proficiency in computer applications.

    Lecturer II (Community Health) - 10 Posts

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Bachelor of Science in Community Health and Development, Bachelor of Science in Community Health or its equivalent; 

    OR

    • KMTC Higher diploma in Community Health and Health Promotion and practiced in their relevant field for at least six (6) years;
    • Been registered with the relevant professional body where applicable; 
    • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution;
    • Proficiency in computer applications.

    Lecturer [2] - Nursing - 30 Posts

    • Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing; 

    OR

    • KMTC Higher Diploma in Anesthesia, Critical Care, Nephrology, Peri-operative nursing, Theater nursing, Psychiatry and Mental Health, Pediatric nursing, Ophthalmic nursing, palliative care, Public health nursing, midwifery, Oncology, Medical-surgical nursing, Family health  and practiced in their relevant field for a minimum period of six (6) years
    • Been registered with the relevant professional body; 
    • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution;
    • Proficiency in computer applications.

    Lecturer [2] - Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine - 8 Posts

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • KMTC Higher Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Surgery (Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgery or Orthopaedics) and practiced in their relevant field for a minimum period of six (6) years;
    • Been registered with the relevant professional body; 
    • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution;
    • Proficiency in computer applications.

    Lecturer [2] - Medical Engineering - 5 Posts

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Duties at this level will include: participating in teaching and evaluating relevant subjects in their discipline areas; assessing students in clinical areas; organizing extra-curricular activities in the College; assisting senior lecturers in research and development of teaching materials; planning, designing and developing relevant teaching materials; identifying health problems prevalent in the country and conducting surveys; and supervising students in clinical areas.

    •  Been registered with the relevant professional body where applicable; 
    • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution;
