    National Peace Building and DRR Advisor - NV

    Role overview

    • Working at project location – In this role, you will provide on-site support in the project location and/or VSO office, (full-time unless otherwise specified) for a set period of time.
    • As the National Peace Building and DRR Advisor you will provide technical expertise, capacity building and accompaniment on conflict sensitivity, peacebuilding, social cohesion, disaster risk management and inclusion in the IPDHE project (Integrating Peacebuilding, Development, and Humanitarian Efforts) in Moyale, Kenya.

    Skills, qualifications and experience

    • The ideal candidate should posses a Bachelor’s degree in Peace Studies/Disaster Management or International Relations and have at least one year relevant experience. The candidate should have knowledge and understanding of peacebuilding, social inclusion, social accountability, disaster risk management and/or resilience and conflict sensitive approaches and dynamics along the Kenya-Ethiopia border.

    Strategic Partnerships Manager

    Role overview

    The main purpose of this role is to secure programme funding by building strong relationships with priority institutional donors, including major global foundations and key implementing partners at a global level.

    Skills, qualifications and experience

    • We are looking to recruit a results driven individual with significant business pursuit experience and expertise developing strong relationships with senior staff, decision makers and influencers at major global foundations, institutional donors and their key implementing partners.
    • The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of securing large scale programme funding and follow-on programme wins with major global foundations and institutional donors over the past three to five years.

    In addition they should have strong network of existing relationships and contacts working in international development programmes/funding for major global foundations, development donors and implementing partners.

    Project Implementation Manager

    Role overview

    To lead the implementation and successful delivery of VSO’s interventions on the Intersectionality SRHR Advocacy project over a 3-year period in line with the donor (Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and VSO guidelines.

    Skills, qualifications and experience

    Essential:

    • A relevant degree or equivalent in human rights, public health, or social development studies with knowledge and experience of SRHR advocacy.
    • Excellent understanding and significant experience of project management and implementation.
    • Substantial experience in coordinating and delivering complex advocacy programmes and teams, preferably with experience of working within a consortium
    • Experience of coaching and building the capacity of others to enhance delivery
    • Strong representation and influencing skills to maintain excellent relations with consortium partners, partner civil society organisations, and other internal and external stakeholders.
    • Experience of financial management, including building a budget, monitoring, and managing expenditure as well as financial reports.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience of compiling donor reports.
    • Experience and knowledge of the country of operation.
    • Experience of working with young marginalised people.
