    Agent Support Officer

    Job Purpose

    We are hiring a dynamic and people-oriented Agent Support Officer to provide field-level mentorship, onboarding support, and day-to-day engagement with M-taka agents, waste groups, and clients. This role is critical to ensuring the successful rollout and sustained usage of M-taka’s products, and services, at the grassroots level. The ideal candidate will blend strong community mobilization skills with a good grasp of technology and product adoption.

    Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

    • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Environmental Studies, ICT, Business, Sales and Marketing, or related field.
    • At least two years of experience in fieldwork, customer support, or community mobilization preferably in the informal waste or tech-for-development space.
    • Practical knowledge of mobile apps, digital platforms, or mobile money systems.
    • Ability to train and coach individuals or groups in both formal and informal settings.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English, Kiswahili, and at least one local language spoken in Western Kenya.
    • Experience working with youth, women’s groups, cooperatives, or CBOs is a plus.
    • Comfortable working in informal settlements or peri-urban areas with minimal supervision.
    • Willingness to travel regularly and work closely with low-income and underserved communities

    Communication and Marketing Officer

    Job Purpose

    We are seeking a creative, proactive, and strategic Communication and Marketing Officer to lead the visibility, user engagement, and brand positioning of M-taka as we scale to the western region of Kenya. The role will drive public awareness campaigns, digital storytelling, community-focused messaging, and behavior change strategies to promote a culture of recycling and increase platform adoption.

    This is a critical position that bridges innovation, impact, and social change through compelling communication and effective market engagement.

    Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

    • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
    • At least two years of relevant experience in communication, marketing, or public engagement preferably in a development, environmental, or tech-driven project.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Kiswahili; ability to produce compelling content for diverse audiences.
    • Hands-on experience managing social media, digital campaigns, and content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Meta Business Suite, Mailchimp).
    • Comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders including community members, media, and government officials.
    • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
    • Familiarity with the waste sector, green entrepreneurship, or community-driven tech solutions is an added advantage.
    • Willingness to travel regularly within Kisumu, Homabay, Vihiga, and Kakamega counties.

    Executive Assistant

    Job Purpose

    The Executive Assistant (EA) will provide high-level administrative and strategic support to the CEO, ensuring the efficient operation of the CEO’s office and enabling effective organizational leadership. The role involves coordinating schedules, managing communications, facilitating decision-making, supporting project follow-ups, and representing the CEO in internal and external engagements when necessary

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, or related field.
    • At least 2 years of experience supporting senior executives or CEOs in fast-paced environments; experience in social enterprises or nonprofits is an added advantage.
    • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
