    Credit Manager – Micro Group Lending & Agri-business Loans

    JOB PURPOSE 

    • This role involves overseeing a diverse portfolio that includes micro-groups, farmers, dairy cooperatives, Agri-Business, and climate smart agriculture initiatives.  The incumbent will be responsible for strategic leadership, Agri & Micro group lending product innovation, manage credit risks and engage stakeholders to strengthen the SACCO’s impact on Micro group lending and agricultural sector. 

    JOB DESCRIPTIONS: 

    • Drive the credit strategy through micro & agri-business loans portfolio.  
    • Drive the creation, implementation and monitoring of customized financial products to enhance micro group lending and agribusiness loans. 
    • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with development organizations, government bodies and industry stakeholders. 
    • Enforce Credit Policy and risk management policy with regards to micro group lending & agri-business loan portfolio. 
    • Review of loan applications and analysis of credit information to assess member’s credit worthiness. 
    • Implement strong risk assessment frameworks to maintain portfolio quality and ensure compliance on loan policies & procedures. 
    • Provide advice, guidance, training and mentorship to micro-groups, lending staff at the branch level regarding micro-credit and agri-business loan policies and procedures, credit analysis, financial statement evaluation, and credit investigations.  
    •  To ensure the attainment of Loan repayment & recovery department targets, objectives and management of PAR. 
    • Offer financial advisory services to micro- groups members, group leaders and farmers. 
    • Advise the Head of Credit on all matters relating to the department’s product development, debt management and loan recovery. 
    • Implement and maintain controls for underwriting, loan administration and collections of Micro group lending & agri-business loans. 
    • Any other duties that may be  assigned by the Head of Credit or any other person in authority. 

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or relevant Business related field or CCP Finalist. 
    • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIFA or CCP qualification will be an added advantage. 
    • Have at least 5 years practical experience in a reputable financial institution preferably in credit management/Agri- business financing/Micro group lending environment.   
    • In depth knowledge of agricultural value chains, climate-smart agriculture, rural finance & Micro-group lending. 
    • KCSE mean Grade C (plain) with C plain in Mathematics and English. 
    • Above 30 years. 
    • Be proactive and initiative. 
    • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders. 
    • Must be self- motivated and be ready to work with minimum supervision.

    System Auditor

    JOB PURPOSE

    • The Systems Auditor will play a critical role in safeguarding Tower SACCO Society’s information systems and business processes. This position ensures risks are identified, controls are evaluated, and compliance is maintained, providing independent assurance on the integrity of the organization’s internal control environment.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Lead the information system audit function within the Internal Audit Department.
    • Develop and implement the annual IS audit plan in collaboration with the Head of Internal Audit.
    • Ensure SACCO maintains robust IS policies and procedures that minimize risk while supporting efficiency.
    • Support the Audit Committee with accurate reports during the monthly and quarterly board reviews.
    • Assess risks in SACCO’s information systems and recommend mitigation measures.
    • Conduct special audits and investigations as required.
    • Conduct system implementation review on new software and system upgrades undertaken.
    • Evaluate compliance with IS policies, procedures, and operating instructions.
    • Track and follow up on audit findings to ensure timely closure.
    • Review business continuity and disaster recovery plans, including backup procedures and usability.
    • Evaluate and report on system infrastructure, system development processes and life cycle management.
    • Audit network security, firewalls and user access controls to prevent data breaches.
    • Recommend improvements to audit procedures for enhanced efficiency.
    • Execute multiple audit projects, ensuring scope, timing, and regulatory compliance.
    • Monitor implementation of defined controls and recommendations.
    • Any other duty that may be assigned by the Head of Internal Audit, the CEO or any authorized officer.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology or related field or either a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Commerce or related field
    • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) qualification is mandatory.
    • Additional certifications such as Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) , Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk & Information Systems
    • At least 5 years relevant experience in System Audit or Information Technology environment.
    • KCSE mean Grade C (plain) with C plain in Mathematics and English.
    • Above 30 years.

    Audit Assistant

    JOB PURPOSE

    • The Audit Assistant will support the Internal Audit Department in conducting audits, evaluating internal controls, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures while following the regulatory requirements relating to the industry.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Assist in planning and executing audit assignments across various departments
    • Obtain, analyze, and appraise data as a basis for an informed objective opinion on the systems and activities being reviewed
    • Assist in carrying out special audits and investigations of suspected improprieties in a confidential and professional manner as directed.
    • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and documentation for reference and reporting.
    • Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
    • Examine inventory to verify journal and ledger entries.
    • Conduct pre-implementation audits to determine if systems and programs under development will work as planned.
    • Examine records, tax returns, and related documents pertaining to settlement of tax claims.
    • Determine whether operating policies and procedures are adequate to safe guard assets, measure and control the economic and efficient use of resources.
    • Maintain a working knowledge of all SACCO policies, developments in regulatory requirements, general accounting principles, audit techniques and financial data processing technologies available to industry relevant to the SACCO operations
    • Prepare audit paperwork, files for audit and other assignment in accordance with standards and requirements of auditing
    • Adhere to the charter, audit manual, audit plan and programs and work schedules
    • Reviewing fraud prevention controls and detection processes put in place by the management and make recommendations for improvement and/or correction or enhancement needed to maintain and improve efficiency & compliance.
    • Any other duties assigned by the Internal Audit Manager, Head of Internal Audit, or the C.E.O. from time to time.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance/Economics /any other relevant discipline or CPA (K)
    • Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant/Certified Internal Auditor/Certification in Risk Management Assurance/Certified Information Security Management/or progress towards Certified Information System Auditor will be an added advantage.
    • Have at least a minimum experience of 3 years in auditing or related field.

    Relationship Officer – Credit

    JOB PURPOSE

    • The Relationship Officer - Credit will be responsible for evaluating, reviewing credit applications, documentation, financial information disclosures such as financial statements, credit reports, collateral details to ensure files are complete, accurate and decision ready while maintaining compliance with SACCO lending policies.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Loan analysis through collecting, verifying, and analyzing information to help in determining whether the credit borrower qualifies for the facility.
    • Review, update the qualification of risk during the analysis of the credit proposal and during the credit life once disbursed.
    • Support the execution of “due diligence” in every stage of the loan application, credit appraisal, loan approval and disbursement to ensure well informed decision-making and qualification of the risk involved.
    • Examine customer’s capability and securitization/collateralization subjecting the borrower to business /personal checks to determine whether the customer has existing/current potential cash flows to make good the loan obligation and whether there is enough collateral/security in the event of adversity.
    • Analyze customer transaction trends and apply risk-based scoring to identify and report potential fraud or suspicious activity on digital lending platforms.
    • Ensure all loan products including the digital lending products adhere to internal policies and other regulatory compliance.
    • Continuously track key performance indicators such us loan delinquency, default rates and overall loan book quality.
    • Proactively manage borrower and lending platform through communication, application pipelines, explanation of conditions, documents requests and next step clarity.
    • Implement digital solutions in collaboration with other relevant departments to improve application flows, disclosures, document collection and self-service success.
    • Confirm guarantor details and endorsements submitted electronically, ensuring authenticity and compliance.
    • Authenticate member information using digital KYC tools and ensure compliance with data protection standards.
    • Any other duty that may be assigned by the Head of Credit, Credit Manager, Branch Manager or any other person in authority.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • CCP II/CPA II/CIFA II or Diploma in Credit Management, Business management, Cooperative Management, Accountancy/finance & Banking or diploma in relevant field/Bachelor’s degree in Cooperative, finance, accounting, or any other related field.
    • Professional certification such as Certified Credit Professionals/Certified Public Accountant will be an added advantage.
    • Minimum experience of 3 years in a reputable financial institution. Those with experience in credit management will have an added advantage
    • KCSE C Plain with C (Plain) in English & Mathematics.
    • Age above 28 years.
    • Must have the ability to review loan applications and make an analysis of credit information to access customer’s credit worthiness.
    • Ability to Multitask with close attention to details.

    Teller

    JOB PURPOSE

    • A teller acts as the frontline representative of the SACCO responsible for handling cash transactions, serving members efficiently, and ensuring compliance with SACCO policies and financial procedures. This role is key in maintaining customer satisfaction, accurate record keeping, and safeguarding the SACCO’s funds while delivering excellent customer service.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Receive and process deposits, withdrawals, and other repayments accurately according to laid-down procedures.
    • Ensure that all laid-down policies and procedures regarding cash handling, locking away and security of cash are adhered to.
    • Identify opportunities for migrating customers to more appropriate and cost-effective channels. i.e. Mobile/Internet/ATMS whichever is most suitable.
    • Responsible for the implementation and adoption within the Branch of all Compliance, Anti Money Laundering and Sanctions related requirements contained in policies, procedures and processes. This includes the consideration and approval of customers including those that require being subjected to Enhanced Due Diligence for on-boarding and continued business.
    • Resolve customer complaint and where not in position direct them to the superior.
    • Seek possible solutions for customer concerns in line with the SACCO’s policy and advise.
    • Provide the customers with the highest quality required services and further take the opportunity to cross sell SACCO products.
    • Identify and report suspicious transactions to safeguard SACCO funds
    • Any other lawful duties as may be directed from time to time by Branch Manager.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Cooperative/ finance/accounting, or any other related degree or Diploma in Management/Accounting/finance & Banking or a relevant field or Professional certification as a Certified Credit Professional/Certified Public Accountant.
    • Minimum relevant experience of 3 years preferably in a reputable financial institution.
    • KCSE C Plain with C (Plain) in English & Mathematics.
    • Age above 28 years.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
    • Ability to Multitask with close attention to details.
    • Possess good interpersonal skills and sound judgement.
