The Embassy of the United States of America to Kenya, located in Nairobi, is home to the diplomatic mission of the United States to the Republic of Kenya. The embassy opened in central Nairobi on 2 March 1964, when the United States established diplomatic relations with Kenya.
Duties
Reports to various sections throughout the Embassy, providing intermittent administrative assistance as needed. As directed by Section Chiefs, duties include administrative functions: i.e, draft correspondence, diplomatic notes and demarches; type reports and cables; prepare briefing books and talking points; answer telephones and screen calls; take accurate messages; meet and escort visitors and work crews; sort and distribute mail; organize and maintain paper and electronic filing systems; schedule and take notes at meetings; schedule appointments; and perform other administrative support functions. Works directly under the supervision, direction of the Section Chief and indirectly reports to the Supervisory Human Resources Officer (S/HRO).

Incumbent will need to have a broad knowledge of the Embassy, including all Agencies. The incumbent will interact with employees from the Embassy and other Agencies as well. Job holder must have a good general knowledge of agency correspondence and other applicable office procedures. The incumbent must be able to respond to some questions from VIP visitors and the Front Office regarding Area. Confidentiality is imperative. Must be able to interact with VIP visitors and the Front Office.

Duties
The Community Led Monitoring (CLM) Grants Coordinator is a staff member of the PEPFAR Coordination Office overseeing the Community Led Monitoring Grants Program for the PEPFAR Kenya program.
The incumbent will prepare federal award agreements and administer funding procedures in collaboration with the Financial Management section to advance U.S. government objectives related to health; manage small grants to various local community groups and civil society organizations in PEPFAR-supported health facilities, surrounding communities and health districts to investigate and understand clients’ perspectives on barriers and enablers to accessing health services; support the routine collection, consolidation, analysis, and dissemination of program results for corrective actions; facilitate an interagency committee with grantee selection and follow up on high-level advocacy to improve client-centered services and achieve better health outcomes for Kenya; and undertake other duties as assigned in support of the PEPFAR interagency team and programs.
