    Software Developer Analyst

    Job Overview/Summary

    • Focused on data collection and program administration technology support, the Software Developer Analyst is a member of the team responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting IRC’s global Data Toolkits and the analysis of the data generated by these products. This includes CommCare, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft SQL Server Azure based data warehouse. Working in partnership with staff at various levels and locations, the Software Developer Analyst performs a key role in analyzing, developing, and improving tools and processes contributing to the successful rollout of the Data Toolkits products.
    • Specific tasks include data platform development, support, configuration, technical assistance and issues routing, second line help desk support, and participation in setting standards for processes, data quality, security, and systems configurations.

    Major Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and maintain Data Toolkits in CommCare
    • Design and build PowerBI Dashboards linked to live CommCare data
    • Review and analyze software requirements, confirm the feasibility and complexity of these requirements, and convert them into estimated developer tasks, validating that each requirement traces cleanly to system design and existing configuration before work begins
    • Provide updates and technology insights/clarifications to the relevant stakeholders
    • Develop and maintain data and metadata definitions, documentation and versioning.
    • Create technical documentation including system diagrams and implementation manuals
    • Implement and maintain data quality processes and development standards
    • Ensure compliance with IRC’s data protection, confidentiality, and security policies
    • Provide Tier-2 and Tier-3 support emerging from Countries and Regional Technology support team for the measurement technology products rolled out.
    • During piloting and rollout, provide training and hyper-support on measurement technology products in close collaboration with the regional technology teams.

    Required Skills

    • Three to six years of experience working in technology domain to develop and rollout data or technology platforms for programs – out of which, at least three years of experience developing, implementing, and supporting CommCare development for large and complex programs.
    • Experience in source code and version control platforms, for example, GitHub, Azure DevOps, or similar.
    • Strong in team development processes including pair programming, shadow sessions, code reviews and other strategies to ensure high-quality programing.
    • Strong code quality assurance practices including unit testing, integration testing, as well as regression testing to ensure quality of the code getting shipped into production.
    • Working knowledge of agile software delivery practices (user stories, backlog grooming, sprint ceremonies) and a demonstrated preference for iterative, requirements-driven development.
    • Ability to effectively communicate in English both in verbal (i.e., day-to-day discussions, team meetings) and written (requirements and design specifications) form, as well as an overall ability to be clear and concise in all communications. More specifically, the ability to clearly explain complex technology issues in layman’s terms and simplify tech-related language depending on the audience/stakeholders is a huge asset.

    Communications Officer

    Position Summary:

    • The IRC seeks a Communications Officer who will support the TeachWell (TW) Project and will play a pivotal role in implementing TW’s communication strategy. Reporting directly to the Project Director, the incumbent will be responsible for organizing, and driving both internal and external communications for the program with an eye towards increasing visibility and engagement with content produced by the TeachWell Consortium and ensure that TW’s messaging is consistent and engaging.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Communication Strategy: Review and update TW’s Communications Plan with the guidance of the Project Director, for both internal and external audiences based on TW’s Annual Planning.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Establishing and maintaining relationships with TeachWell Consortium Partners.
    • Message Development: Working with consortium partners, support the development of clear and compelling messages that effectively convey the impact and importance of the TW Project. Ensuring that these messages are consistent and resonant with the Project goals.

    Qualification

    • Education: A bachelor’s degree in communications, development studies, science, Public Relation, or a related social science.
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience working and leading in media, journalism, advocacy, and communications within an NGO and/or in the development and humanitarian contexts.
    • Experience managing communication strategies in a complex and dynamic environment, preferably in the development, humanitarian or international development sector.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a track record of successfully engaging with diverse collaborators.
    • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create content that resonates with various audiences.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Communications planning: Support the Project Director to review and implement TeachWell’s communications plan in line with annual project priorities. Maintain a communications calendar covering key activities, events, campaigns and planned publications.
    • Storytelling and content development: Work with consortium partners and technical teams to identify stories, results and lessons from the project. Write and edit website articles, human-interest stories, social media copy, briefs, presentations and other materials for different audiences.
    • Evidence communication: Collaborate with monitoring, evaluation and technical colleagues to translate project data, research findings and learning into clear, accurate and accessible communications products. Check claims and figures with the relevant teams before publication.
    • Visual and digital content: Create simple, well-designed graphics, social media assets and presentations using tools such as Canva. Coordinate photography, video and other creative production, and prepare content for TeachWell, partner and IRC channels in the required formats.
    • Video production and coordination: Coordinate video documentation with FilmAid and other production partners, including developing briefs, arranging interviews and filming, tracking production timelines, consolidating feedback and reviewing outputs against project and donor requirements.
    • Consortium coordination and approvals: Serve as a communications focal point for TeachWell consortium partners. Gather partner inputs, maintain consistent project messaging and branding, and coordinate the review and approval of communications products with the Project Director and relevant IRC and partner teams.
    • Events and external engagement: Support communications for education events, meetings and learning forums in Kenya. Prepare key messages, presentation materials and coverage plans, and document relevant discussions and project contributions.
    • Internal communications and content management: Work with TeachWell outcome leads, including Education, WASH, MHPSS and the Crisis Modifier, to identify communications needs and share project updates. Liaise with IRC’s regional communications and creative teams, and organise approved photos, videos, stories and consent records for future use.
    • Ethical and inclusive communication: Ensure content accurately represents the people and communities involved in TeachWell. Follow IRC requirements on informed consent, child safeguarding, image use, accessibility and responsible storytelling throughout content collection and production.

    Additional skills to include under Qualifications

    • Ability to create clear, professional graphics, presentations and social media assets using Canva or similar design tools.
    • Experience coordinating photography and video production, including writing creative briefs and reviewing edits.
    • Ability to interpret project data and research findings and communicate them accurately to non-technical audiences.
    • Familiarity with digital content publishing and basic social media performance tracking.
    • Strong proofreading, editing and quality-control skills, including checking figures, credits, branding and permissions.

    AI Platform Engineer

    Major Responsibilities

    AI Systems Administration & Operations (40%)

    • Serve as primary technical administrator across IRC enterprise AI environments, currently including Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI platform deployments
    • Manage user access, API key governance, workspace configurations, and environment-level settings across AI platforms
    • Monitor system health, usage patterns, and API performance across AI tools; triage and resolve operational issues as they arise
    • Maintain and improve observability across AI system

    Tracking uptime, error rates, token consumption, and integration reliability

    • Oversee and document configuration changes, environment updates, and deployment procedures across managed platforms
    • Support responsible use by flagging anomalous usage patterns and coordinating with InfoSec on policy adherence and access controls

    Integrations & Technical Implementation (35%)

    • Coordinate with the DevOps, SW Engineering and Data Engineering team(s) on deployment processes, environment access, and infrastructure dependencies required to build and maintain AI integrations
    • Follow established change management procedures for all configuration changes, environment updates, and integration deployments, including documentation, testing, and appropriate approvals before pushing to production

    • Serve as the technical point of contact with the InfoSec team on matters related to AI system security, data handling, access controls, and compliance requirements
    • Support risk assessments and security reviews for new AI tools or integrations by providing accurate technical context on system behavior and data flows
    • Contribute to the development of technical SOPs and best-practice guidelines for AI system use, in coordination with the AI Platform Support Director and relevant stakeholders

    Stakeholder Support & Collaboration (10%)

    • Act as a technical resource for program and operations teams adopting AI tools, including answering implementation questions, supporting troubleshooting, and identifying configuration solutions
    • Participate in rollout planning for new AI capabilities, providing grounded input on technical feasibility, integration requirements, and operational readiness
    • Collaborate with the AI Platform Support Director on onboarding documentation and technical guidance materials for end users
    • Contribute to sprint and project planning with accurate estimates on technical effort and dependencies

    Required Experience & Skills

    AI & Cloud Platforms

    • Hands-on experience administering enterprise AI platforms (Anthropic, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or comparable tools), including API management, access controls, and environment configuration
    • Familiarity with LLM application infrastructure: prompt pipelines, Model Context Protocol (MCP), other tool-calling integration frameworks, vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns, and embedding workflows
    • Experience working with Databricks or comparable data/ML platforms is a strong plus

    Integration & Development

    • Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript for scripting, automation, and lightweight integration work
    • Experience building and maintaining REST API integrations, including authentication patterns, webhook handling, and error management
    • Comfort reading and working within existing codebases without requiring significant architectural guidance
    • Familiarity with version control (Git) and standard deployment practices for scripts and integrations

    Systems Administration & Monitoring

    • Experience monitoring distributed systems or SaaS platforms, including setting up alerting, reviewing logs, and diagnosing performance or availability issues
    • Familiarity with usage/cost monitoring for cloud or API-based services
    • Comfort operating in live production environments where reliability and data integrity are critical

    Security & Compliance

    • Working knowledge of information security principles as they apply to SaaS and API-based systems: access controls, credential management, data handling, and audit logging
