    System Intergration Officer

    Key Responsibilities

    Technology deliverable

    • Design and Develop, and continuously improve, of the Bank’s Integration Platforms (ESB and SOA)
    • Design, Build & maintain infrastructure to support a continuous integration & continuous deployment software development process, including all phases of development, quality assurance and software deployment.
    • Design, build, and execute automated testing plans for all API gateway, service bus & micro-service applications developed in the organization and provide reporting templates for monitoring testing coverage.
    • Apply knowledge and experience, showing deep understanding of Software Development Standards to assist business and product teams develop products that solve business needs.
    • Advise internal customers on technology improvements that will ensure realization and maximization of business objectives.
    • Collaboration with stakeholders and functional areas to develop systems within business requirements.
    • Review and analyze existing applications programs and programs in development to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
    • To keep up with new technologies and proactively drive innovation with new ideas and options made available.
    • Optimization of applications for maximum speed and scalability.
    • Work within an agile team to design, develop and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
    • Taking lead on projects, as needed.
    • Technical analysis and Proof of Concept for new product and technologies.
    • Support and Problem Management
    • Ensure projects, problems, service requests and escalations are dealt with according to defined set of policies, processes, procedures and SLA's.
    • Provide 2nd Level support for escalated issues from the IT Operations and IT Applications Teams.
    • Support, maintain and audit existing service lifecycle artefacts, to agreed SLAs.
    • Monitor and manage service user complaints to ensure maintenance of the highest standards of service.
    • Manage the solution delivery functions in collaboration with Product Managers to ensure technical and operational aspects related to delivering a successful product to our customers/partners are met.
    • Compile and analyses data, processes, and code to troubleshoot problems and identify areas of improvement.
    • Support, maintain and audit existing service lifecycle artefacts, to agreed SLAs.
    • IT Application security and Governance
    •  Efficiency and Effectiveness of the Banking Technology Applications (systems, people, policy, controls and procedures) with regard to protection against exposure to and impact of risks associated with data loss, corruption and/or unauthorized access.
    • To ensure business requirements are in compliance with enterprise architecture and other guidelines that are to be considered.
    • To stay aware of latest data protection and security threats and to make sure we mitigate against these risks against known industry standards.
    • Adhere to internal policies and procedures for the management of Software Applications along ITIL and other best practices.
    • Implementation of built-in security and data protection for all managed solutions
    • Business continuity management

    Qualifications:

    • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
    • 4 Years’ experience in Application support in medium to large organizations.
    • 4 Years’ experience in Database Systems – Oracle, MySQL and Microsoft SQL
    • 4 Years’ experience in Software Design and Development

    Key Competencies and Attributes:

    • Solid knowledge in CI/CD platforms, cloud environments, Linux & Windows operating systems, automated testing, version control systems and integrations (API Gateway, Service bus and Microservices)
    • Deep understanding of industry standard formats and protocols (JMS, SOAP, XML/XPath/XQuery, REST and JSON)
    • Well conversant with issue/bug tracking tools e.g. JIRA
    • Experience in creating technical designs, deployment and related artifacts
    • Knowledge and experience in modern practices for IT Applications architecture and operations in medium to large banks to provide guidance on quality improvements and problem management
    • Knowledge and effective application of all relevant banking policies, processes, procedures and guidelines to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks

    Relationship Officer-Bancassurance

    Job Purpose:

    • The role holder is responsible for bancassurance business growth and development to generate revenues to support the Bancassurance growth strategy.

    Key Responsibilities:

    •  Drive growth in Bancassurance business across and outside Family bank distribution Channels-through new business acquisition.
    • Responsible for insurance business growth and development to generate revenues to support the Bancassurance growth strategy.
    • Execution of day-to-day Insurance operations and business initiatives at branch level; New business development, Upselling & cross-selling of insurance products, claims administration and documentation etc.
    • Prepare and maintain on an ongoing basis, daily sales report, and monthly performance reports to present to the branch manager.
    • Work closely with the Branch Manager, branch business teams and Credit team to design strategies to leverage the existing clientele and expand the bancassurance wallet share by selling insurance products hence deepening relationships and accelerate revenue growth.
    • Spearhead marketing initiatives or drives on insurance products to existing and prospective bank customers.
    • Mine and ensure that all collaterals /assets/ securities within the corporate loan book are properly and adequately insured and the bank’s interest properly noted to mitigate risks of exposure to the bank securities.
    • Business Retention: Timely renewal of existing business to avoid revenue loss through timely contact and engagements with the policyholders, and overall relationship management.
    • Work closely with the branch management team to ensure the branch meets the set targets on insurance business.
    • Provide advisory services to credit department/ branch on relevant insurance policies for businesses/ clients accessing credit facilities from the branch.
    • Champion Insurance products and all relevant business training at the branch level to sensitize branch staff on bancassurance business.
    • Efficiently and effectively resolve all insurance inquiries or issues from clients and within the assigned branch(es), including claims management.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal procedures in relation to bancassurance business within branches.
    • Responsible for premium collection and ensuring that debt levels are kept within set levels and in line with laid down bancassurance Credit policy and underwriting guidelines.
    • Participate in branch meetings and any other business forums offering valuable ideas contributing towards the growth of business.

    The Person: 

    • The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
    • A holder of university degree from a recognized university in Insurance, Business, Finance or another related field.
    • Certificate of Proficiency (COP)
    • At least two years active working experience in direct sales in a Banc assurance environment or Insurance industry.

     Key Competencies and Attributes:

    • Exposure to bancassurance processes and procedures will be an added advantage.
    • Excellent knowledge of Insurance products, underwriting processes, and emerging market/industry trends
    • Highly effective communication and collaboration skills
    • Strong presentation and customer service skill set

    • Good planning, organization, and reporting skills with the ability to deliver effectively under strict deadlines.
    • Exposure to Insurance products in the bank set-up.
    • Practical understanding of the relevant regulatory environment

    • Builds networks and maintains strong relationships to achieve desired results.
    • Excellent business development and Client Relationship Management skills.
    • Responsible, reliable, has leadership skills and business acumen to spot opportunities readily.
    • Upholds high standard of Professionalism, integrity, and respect for others.
    • Drives high performance through collaboration with teams.
