    Talent Management Specialist

    Position overview

    • As a Talent Management Specialist, you will own the performance and development of early-career and mid-level talent placed with Tana’s partners. You’ll combine coaching, performance management and progress tracking to ensure talent is successful in their roles and continuously improving. Most importantly, you’ll balance empathy with accountability, ensuring talent is both supported and held to high standards.
    • This people-focused role is ideal for someone detail-oriented and passionate about empowering emerging young tech, data and business professionals. You’ll have ownership of real business outcomes, be exposed to global clients and work in a fast-paced and exciting environment with smart people and incredible talent.

    Responsibilities

    • Talent coaching and support: Provide ongoing coaching and support to early-career talent through regular 1:1s, helping them navigate workplace dynamics, strengthen professional habits, and build confidence. This means a lot of time on calls with talent!
    • Performance management and intervention: Monitor talent progress and performance to identify early signs of challenges, support performance improvement plans, and help reinforce both technical and professional competencies through feedback. This will include navigating challenging situations and sometimes having difficult conversations.
    • Tracking and insights: Maintain and update internal talent databases and trackers to ensure accurate, up-to-date records of performance, engagement, and development. Share regular and ad hoc updates with internal teams to inform decision-making and strengthen client relationships.
    • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with Client Success, Operations and Leadership to ensure talent support is cohesive, consistent, and aligned with company strategy and priorities.

    Requirements

    • 2-4 years of experience in coaching, mentorship and/or team management, gained through people management or team leadership experience, HR roles or similar.
    • Proficient with organizational and process tools like Notion, CRMs, or HRIS/ATS systems.
    • Uses AI tools to improve efficiency, documentation, and insight generation in day-to-day work.
    • Passionate about supporting early-career and junior professionals.
    • Comfortable managing small projects, including timelines, documentation, and follow-ups.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust quickly and navigate sensitive or high-stakes conversations.
    • Ability to apply business acumen and strategic thinking to talent management problems and understand implications for Tana.
    • Experience working in remote-first teams and coordinating across time zones.
    • Nice to have: experience working in a startup or tech environment.

    Location

    • This is a hybrid position based in Nairobi, Kenya, with a minimum of 3 days in the office

    Recruiter

    Position overview

    • We are seeking a Recruiter to source, attract, and hire top talent for one of our client partners.
    • The role will be placed with a boutique US recruiting firm that works with top-tier health tech and AI startups, and is focused on hiring key sales, marketing and operations roles.
    • You will play a key role in sourcing and identifying qualified candidates, conducting interviews and skills assessments, and ensuring a smooth hiring experience.
    • This role requires excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Proactively source and headhunt candidates using a variety of channels, including LinkedIn, job boards, talent databases, referrals, and creative sourcing strategies.
    • Build and maintain strong talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
    • Conduct market mapping and talent research to identify target companies, profiles, and candidate pools.
    • Engage passive candidates through personalized outreach and relationship-building, clearly communicating opportunities and value propositions.
    • Screen and assess candidates through initial calls and structured interviews to evaluate skills, experience, and overall fit.
    • Partner with internal stakeholders and/or clients to understand role requirements and refine sourcing strategies accordingly.

    Requirements:

    • Eligible to work in Kenya.
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
    • 2–4 years of professional experience in recruitment or talent sourcing.
    • Proven experience or strong interest in headhunting and proactive sourcing, including engaging passive candidates.
    • Familiarity with sourcing tools and platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean searches, common ATS).
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess candidate profiles and identify high-potential talent.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple pipelines and priorities simultaneously.
    • Self-driven, resourceful, and comfortable operating with a high degree of ownership.
    • Experience in fast-paced or startup environments is a plus.

    Admin:

    • This is a full-time, fully remote role based in Kenya.
    • Work hours: approx 3pm-12am EAT (to align with the US).
    • If selected, you will be hired by Tana and embedded full-time with our client.

    Network Security Engineer

    Position overview:

    • The role will be placed with a leading global security company that helps organizations manage and automate their security processes, identify risks, and improve visibility across their networks, applications, and cloud environments.
    • They're headquartered in the US with a globally distributed engineering team.
    • This role combines deployment, technical support, and client-facing work, giving you end-to-end exposure to real-world security environments.

    Responsibilities:

    • Install and configure network security software for new clients and support deployments across cloud and on-prem environments.
    • Manage demo environments and support customer onboarding and early usage.
    • Troubleshoot customer issues end-to-end, including remote debugging and log analysis.
    • Participate in customer calls to guide setup, resolve issues, and ensure successful adoption.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams internally (Sales, Product, Delivery, Engineering).
    • Document, escalate, and track issues to resolution.
    • Contribute to internal knowledge and customer-facing technical content.

    Requirements:

    Must have:

    • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a Networking or Network Security role (e.g., IT Networking, IT support, Network Security Engineer, Network Engineer, Application Support, or similar).
    • CCNA or similar certification (e.g. CompTIA, Huawei, etc.).
    • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, gained through university and/or professional experience (incl TCP/IP, HTTP, browser–server communication, firewall/security policies).
    • Experience working with firewall policies from vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Check Point.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently, as this is a client-facing role.
    • Ability to learn quickly and take initiative.
    • You enjoy both technical problem-solving and working with people.

    Nice to have:

    • Hands-on experience with Linux (setup, configuration, basic administration) and familiarity with Windows.
    • Experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
    • Basic experience with Docker and Kubernetes (Pods, Services, Ingress).
    • Understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
    • Awareness of common web vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, SQL injection, and authentication issues).
    • Familiarity with network analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, Fiddler).
    • Experience working with APIs (e.g., REST or GraphQL).
    • Scripting experience (Python and/or Bash).
