    Underwriting Assistant

    PURPOSE:

    The incumbent shall be responsible for analyzing and assessing the risk presented to the company through proposals submitted guided by the laid down underwriting guidelines.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Evaluate risks proposed and prescribe rates and terms commensurate with level of risk before acceptance as per Underwriting guidelines;
    • Customers onboarding and registration in the system;
    • Intermediaries onboarding and registration in the system;
    • Ensure timely processing of renewal invitations;
    • Prepare and process debits/credits endorsements for renewals and new business;
    • Process renewal invitations guided by the claims experience;
    • Monthly Premium Reconciliation;
    • Process commission for agents and brokers;
    • Process and dispatch renewal notifications and endorsement on time;
    • Prepare and issue Policy documents and Renewal Endorsements;
    • Provide Group Life quotations to intermediaries and clients;
    • Process premium refunds to customers;
    • Respond and attend to customer enquiries;
    • Prompt handling and response to customer enquiries once received;
    • Processing of payments to Medical Service Providers;
    • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

    Academic, Professional and Technical Competencies Required:

    Essential Knowledge/Skills and Experience Required:

    • Up to (1) years’ relevant experience
    • Good analytical skills
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Problem solving skills
    • Excellent customer care skills

    Desirable knowledge/skills and Experience Required:

    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications
    • Technical competence in insurance
    • Basic knowledge of regulations by AKI and IRA

    Education    

    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or in a related field        

    Professional Qualifications    

    • Progress towards IIK or ACII

    Client Relations Assistant - Medical Contract

    PURPOSE:

    To manage client relations within the medical business to achieve efficiency in service delivery through various activities that enhance the customer experience

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure timely and efficient follow up on questions, issues, approvals and other ad-hoc points of communication between clients and CIC.
    • Coordinate consistent updates to clients on phone and email on any changes or improvements affecting their policy.
    • Conduct scheme performance and service review meetings with clients to identify and address service gaps.
    • Organize and hold health talks, and medical campaigns programs for all allocated clients on a quarterly basis.
    • Sensitize members on Wellness program and Dawa mlangoni.
    • Train scheme members on awareness on their policy and best utilization practices such as hospital access, benefit management etc.
    • Receive and transmit all member addition and deletion instructions to the Medical Underwriting team.
    • Receive and transmit all invoices and credit notes from CIC to the client.
    • Share monthly scheme utilization reports by the 10th day of every month reporting the performance as at the end of the preceding month.
    • Share monthly scheme Funds reports by the 10th day of every.
    • Share quarterly scheme utilization reports and plan in consultation with the contact persons for quarterly performance review meetings.
    • Follow up on historical and current debts.
    • Update the contact person on daily admission updates and death notifications
    • Coordinate dispatch of renewal notices and confirm renewals and follow up for renewal.
    • Coordinate consistent updates to clients on phone and email on any changes or improvements affecting their policy.

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or in any related field
    • Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications
    • Certification in Insurance is an added advantage

    Required years of experience

    • 2 years required

    Call Centre Nursing Executive - Medical Contact Centre Contract

    PURPOSE:

    To provide general customer service in respect to medical business customers.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Receive and respond to Medical emergency lines and ensure 24 hour coverage.
    • Handle phone calls and visitors, as well as resolve customers’ communication through electronic and physical channels.
    • Issuance of both in and outpatient approvals for admissible requests for insured members.
    • Communication to stakeholders on management of cases and financial liability through reports.
    • Provide input for the customer service reports.
    • Handle customer service issues and queries.
    • Escalate Customer queries to the relevant job role if necessary.
    • Maintain professional ambience within the office premises.
    • Promote the organization’s customer service charter.

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree In Nursing (KRCHN), Health Management or in a related field KRN/KRCHN
    • Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications

    Experience Required:

    • Relevant experience in busy health environmenT - 3years    
    • Experience in a medical call centre management unit - 1year
