    Actuarial Consultant

    Job Purpose:

    We are seeking to recruit an Actuarial Consultant with at least 4 years of actuarial experience within the consulting, insurance or reinsurance industry to support the Actuarial consulting unit of the company by providing actuarial services and advisory to an array of clients.

    Reporting to: Manager, Insurance Consulting.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Engage in client engagement and management while supporting business development activities;
    • Perform actuarial valuations for life insurance and/or general insurance;
    • Conduct product development, and other financial projections;
    • Leading in the adoption of IFRS 17 to the full implementation for our clients;
    • Assigning, coordinating and managing projects in progress;
    • Support thought leadership initiatives;
    • Team management, coaching & leadership.

    Knowledge, experience and qualifications required:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science;
    • Relevant actuarial experience in a similar role;
    • Good progress with professional actuarial exams- at least 5 actuarial exams passed;
    • Good knowledge of regional financial regulatory requirements;
    • Strong communication skills (oral and written skills);
    • Displays high motivation, team-orientation, adaptability, initiative, self drive and ownership of work;
    • Advanced IT, data management and modeling skills; proficiency in R and/or Python would be an advantage;

    Business Development Executive

    Job Purpose:

    We are seeking to recruit a dynamic individual to join our organization as a Business Development and Project Management Executive.

    Reporting to: Managing Director.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    Business Development

    • Business Development Diagnosis: This shall include undertaking a situation analysis, identification of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats within the business development activities as well as performing a gap analysis in the service and product offering, practices and processes, people and resource utilization and business organization and structure;
    • Business Development Planning: Based on the business diagnosis, to assist in developing plans and targets for execution and implementation to enable the Company achieve its objectives;
    • Partner Identification, Engagement and Relationship Management: This shall involve managing individuals as well as organizational consultants engaged in joint projects with ACTSERV;
    • Proposals and Pitching: This shall include the identification of viable opportunities aligned to the business of ACTSERV, preparation of proposals aligned to the opportunities identified, Pitching and Presentation;
    • Client Engagement: Upon development of the proposals, undertake client engagement, as agreed with ACTSERV, in a bid to secure the opportunities;
    • Client Relationship Management: Undertake client management allocated by ACTSERV;
    • Networking: Undertake networking activities as agreed with ACTSERV and shall facilitate the introductions with prospective clients in the insurance, pensions and financial services sectors;
    • Knowledge management: Share resources necessary and/or incidental to execution of the Services.

    Project Management

    • Project Management: This shall include developing work plans, tracking project progress, managing internal and external progress meetings, coordinating internal and external consultants participating in the project delivery;
    • Project Execution: Manage the execution of projects internally and externally from technical analysis, report preparation and client presentation;
    • Contract Execution: Manage the contract execution between ACTSERV and the Client on projects awarded;
    • Fee Collection: Follow up on pending fees for ongoing and/or completed projects from clients;
    • Training: This entails training of relevant staff on the project;
    • Presentation: This entails preparation and presentation of reports to clients.

    Qualifications & Desirable Competencies

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or a similar field
    • At least 10 years of experience in business development, sales and project management or a similar role
    • Consulting experience is an added advantage
    • Experience with CRM software and MS Office proficiency
    • Experience in managing and growing business development teams
    • Ability to network at the C-Suite level

    R Software Developer

    Job Purpose:

    We are seeking to recruit an R Software Developer within our team.

    Reporting to: Manager, Software Engineering.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop robust & scalable Applications using various programming languages and frameworks to perform core business functions;
    • Create workflow diagrams & charts to demonstrate the functionality of Applications & design programs before coding;
    • Analyze system applications and run tests to spot and resolve bugs and inconsistencies;
    • Work with team members to find creative, innovative solutions to solve problems;
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology products;
    • Contribute to services and systems architecture for projects and provide feedback to other team members;
    • Collaborate with other members of different departments to understand their needs and devise ways to accommodate them with application and software needs;
    • Work with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases and then translate that into a pragmatic and effective technical solutions;
    • Provide insight regarding user ability and user experience to guide system development;
    • Deploying software tools, processes, and metrics;
    • Perform regular audits to identify the Application inefficiencies and mastermind ways to improve workflow;
    • Help improve the current code quality through writing unit tests, automation and performing code reviews;
    • Write and continually update documentation for all Applications for internal and external reference;
    • Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule;
    • Preparing reports on programming project specifications, activities, or status;
    • Keep up to date on the latest industry trends in mobile/web technologies;
    • Performing other related tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

    Knowledge, experience and qualifications required:

    • Bachelor’s Degree.
    • Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
    • Proficiency in programming in R and javascript, proficiency in any other languages is an added advantage.
    • Demonstrated knowledge in R Shiny for web application development and data.table for efficient data manipulation.
    • Experience working with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks.
    • Experience in Agile Development/ software life-cycle development.
    • Preferred experience working with Linux-based OS is an added advantage.

    Financial Advisor

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:
