    Grants & Partnership Officer

    Job Purpose: 
    Reporting to the Innovation Manager, the role holder will be responsible for developing assigned channel(s), managing property insurance initiatives, and growing regional presence & diversifying product portfolio to provide sales and operations related support growth of climate insurance with an aim of growing the revenue and number of customers within the emerging consumer segment.  

    Key responsibilities 

    • Collaborate with product development teams to design insurance products that cater to the needs of diverse populations, including underrepresented communities, individuals with disabilities, and other marginalized groups. 
    • Assist in developing proposals to donors and development finance institutions for grant funding. 
    • Assist in developing marketing and outreach initiatives to raise awareness about our inclusive insurance products and services among target communities. 
    • Lead the establishment and operationalization of Britam Clinics, including project coordination, regulatory compliance, and readiness for launch. 
    • Oversee day-to-day clinic operations, performance management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficient service delivery. 
    • Develop and manage strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, corporates, development partners, investors, and government agencies to support clinic growth and sustainability. 
    • Drive the scale-up of the clinic network through business development, stakeholder engagement, project management, and implementation of expansion strategies. 
    • Ensure retention of clients, intermediaries, and partners as per segment targets 
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Fundraising & Resource Mobilization 

    • Identify and pursue grant funding opportunities from bilateral and multilateral donors, foundations, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), impact investors, and corporate foundations.  
    • Develop compelling concept notes, grant proposals, pitch decks, and funding applications aligned with Britam Microinsurance's strategic priorities.  
    • Build and maintain a robust grant pipeline to support innovation, inclusive insurance, healthcare, and regional expansion initiatives.  
    • Coordinate fundraising efforts across internal business units to maximize funding opportunities.  

    Donor & Partner Relationship Management 

    • Build and manage strategic relationships with donors, development agencies, philanthropic  organizations, and ecosystem partners.  
    • Serve as the primary focal point for donor engagement throughout the funding lifecycle.  
    • Coordinate donor meetings, presentations, due diligence requests, and reporting requirements.  
    • Represent Britam Microinsurance in donor forums, ecosystem engagements, and partnership discussions.  

    Grant Management & Compliance 

    • Coordinate implementation of awarded grants to ensure compliance with donor agreements and reporting obligations.  
    • Track grant budgets, deliverables, milestones, and timelines.  
    • Prepare technical and financial progress reports in collaboration with project teams.  
    • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with donor regulations and internal governance requirements.  

    Strategic Partnerships 

    • Support the identification and development of partnerships that strengthen Britam Microinsurance's innovation and inclusive insurance agenda.  
    • Coordinate partnership agreements, work plans, and joint initiatives.  
    • Identify opportunities for co-funding and blended finance models with strategic partners.  

    Innovation & Programme Support 

    • Support the development of innovative programmes that are attractive to donors and aligned with market needs.  
    • Contribute to programme design by integrating donor priorities with Britam's strategic objectives.  
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams during proposal development and project implementation.  

    Monitoring, Learning & Reporting 

    • Monitor fundraising performance against annual targets.  
    • Maintain a grants management dashboard and funding pipeline.  
    • Generate regular reports on proposal success rates, donor engagement, funding secured, and project impact.  
    • Capture lessons learned and best practices to strengthen future fundraising efforts.  

    Stakeholder Coordination 

    • Work closely with Finance, Legal, Product Development, Operations, Marketing, and Regional teams during proposal development and implementation.  
    • Ensure alignment between donor-funded initiatives and business priorities. 

    Knowledge, experience, and qualifications required 

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, International Development, Public Policy, Insurance, or a related field.  
    • Master's degree is an added advantage.  
    • Certification in Project Management or Proposal Development is desirable. 
    • Previous experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on inclusive insurance, diversity, equity, and inclusion, or related fields. 
    • Strong understanding of the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated commitment to promoting these values within the workplace and the broader community. 
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and external partners. 
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

    ICT Business Partner

    Job Purpose:

    The role holder would champion Britam’s Technological transformation within the Segments.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • To be the strategic adviser to the BGI and Connect Segments leadership on how to leverage on IT as a strategic enabler of business.
    • Lead delivery of IT components of all strategic IT initiatives within the BGI and Connect Segments.
    • Collaborate with the rest of the BGI and Connect Segments MANCO to drive strategic change.
    • He/ She is a change driver who influences colleagues to adapt to new technologies and ways of working.
    • Support IT infrastructure value delivery and IT PMO teams to deliver system and process enhancements.
    • Responsible for day-to-day system administration, support and maintenance tasks. Their KPIs include system availability or issue resolution SLAs.
    • Gain intimate knowledge of the BU strategic and operational imperatives, Britam’s BGI and Connect strategy and its resultant IT strategy. The Business Partner marries delivery of the Segment’s IT initiatives and Group IT initiatives ensuring the Segment and Britam Group succeed by building an IT ecosystem in line with the BGI and Connect vision of “diversified financial services group”
    • Provide a single point of contact for BGI and Connect Segments on all matters IT. They engage with the rest of the IT function to provide the BGI and Connect Segments leader with consolidated view of the status of IT operations, projects and security within the BGI and Connect Segments.
    • Advice the BGI and Connect Segments on IT risk management processes and procedures and IT capabilities required to manage segments operational risks.
    • Advice and support the segment Manco to prioritize BGI and Connect Segments IT initiatives for the year and ensure these are captured in the Group IT plan and budget.
    • Ensure the BGI and Connect Segments IT initiatives comply to the Britam Enterprise Architecture.

    Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

    • Bachelors in Computer Science/ Technology.
    • Masters in Computer Science/Technology Management is an added advantage.
    • 7-10 years’ experience in IT Services and System Development, 3-4 years of which should be in a management position.
    • Certified Business Analyst Professional – CBAP.
    • TOGAF Certified Enterprise Architect.
    • Oracle Certified Master – Java EE
    • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
    • ITIL Master, TOGAF certified
    • 5 years’ experience in covering product development and at least three of which should be in business and innovation
    • Proven experience working across functions and with multiple stakeholders.
    • A keen eye for innovation in the insurance and financial services space preferred.
    • Strong reporting and data management skills.
