    Principal: Treasury (Back Office) Operations - Kenya

    Role Overview: 

    As Principal : Treasury Operations, you will oversee daily back-office treasury operations across multiple African regions with diverse economic and regulatory environments. You will ensure smooth and timely execution of all treasury-related activities, linking back-office operations with regional teams and external financial institutions.

    What You'll do:

    Settlement Management & Reconciliation

    • Liaise with Merchants Operations team to obtain daily settlement amounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed on time.
    • Upload manual settlements as per settlement files, verify transactions, and ensure bank charges are correctly applied.
    • Ensure timely liquidation and reconciliation of funds from alternative payment methods, mobile money platforms, and aggregators.
    • Support settlements across the group, coordinating with internal teams and external financial institutions to ensure accurate merchant transaction settlement.

     Liquidity & Cash Flow Management

    • Update and maintain daily cash position files, ensuring all cash balances and outstanding settlements are accurately captured.
    • Monitor and manage daily liquidity requirements to ensure sufficient funds for operations and merchant settlements across multiple regions.
    • Assist in developing and maintaining merchant liquidity forecasts to meet obligations.
    • Execute operational foreign exchange transactions required for settlements and liquidity management.
    • Optimize cash flow management, ensuring efficient use of funds without holding excessive idle cash.
    • Prepare reports supporting cash flow forecasting and financial planning.

     Treasury Operations & Execution

    • Manage back-office treasury functions, including fund transfers, bank account management, and transaction reconciliation.
    • Implement and maintain processes to ensure accuracy and compliance in treasury operations.

     Banking & External Stakeholder Management

    • Assist in updating and maintaining bank mandates within the region, ensuring all authorizations align with regulatory and internal compliance requirements.

     Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

    • Ensure compliance with financial policies, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies to strengthen treasury controls.
    • Oversee documentation and adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

     Reporting & Financial Analysis

    • Analyze and report key treasury metrics to the Head of Treasury Operations.
    • Prepare and review treasury reports, including liquidity positions, foreign exchange exposures, and settlement progress.
    • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions for audit and compliance purposes.

     Process Improvement & Automation

    • Participate in treasury-wide process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall operational effectiveness.

     Regional & Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Collaborate with regional teams to understand local financial regulations and ensure seamless cross-border fund transfers and settlements.
    • Foster collaboration between back-office treasury teams and other departments as needed.

     Team Support & Development

    • Provide support and mentorship to treasury analysts and other staff, helping them develop their skills and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in their work.

    What we are looking for:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
    • Knowledge of banking, treasury and payments products and processes.
    • Experience: 7-10 years of hands-on experience in treasury operations, back-office processing, or a related field preferably within the fintech industry.
    • Strong understanding of treasury functions, financial markets, and banking operations.
    • Familiarity with African financial markets and regulatory frameworks.
    • Thorough knowledge of African currency markets and regulatory frameworks.
    • Strong communication skills and an ability to build and leverage cross-functional relationships.
    • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles within a multi-currency, multi-subsidiary environment.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
    • Experience with Treasury Management Systems (Kyriba) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software is a plus.

    Senior Manager: Technology Governance, Resilience & Corporate IT

    Role Overview: 

    The Senior Manager: Technology Governance, Resilience & Corporate IT is responsible for end-to-end execution of technology governance, security-by-design, operational resilience, and corporate IT services across the Cellulant Group.

    Reporting directly to the Head of Platform Engineering , the role ensures that:

    • Technology platforms and corporate IT services are secure, reliable, compliant, and resilient
    • Governance and control frameworks are embedded into daily technology operations
    • Corporate IT services enable productivity, efficiency, and a strong employee experience across all market, 
    • Leads the implementation and adoption of controls, principles and guidelines of our current and future ISO certifications across the organization. 

    This role combines strong operational leadership with disciplined governance execution, acting as a bridge between strategy, engineering execution, compliance requirements, and end-user technology services.

    What You'll do:

    Technology Governance & Risk Execution

    • Implement and maintain the Technology Risk & Governance Framework across platforms and corporate IT.
    • Translate standards and regulations (ISO 27001, ISO 20000, ISO 22301, ISO 27701, PCI-DSS, GDPR) into:
      • Engineering and operational standards
      • Platform and infrastructure guardrails
      • Repeatable control procedures

    Principal: AI & Product Engineer - Kenya

    Role Overview: 

    We are hiring a Principal: AI & Product Engineer to lead the development and deployment of AI-driven product experiences across our B2B payments platform, with an initial focus on reconciliation and merchant onboarding workflows. This role is responsible for building production-grade AI features leveraging LLMs, embeddings, agent orchestration frameworks, and secure cloud-native architectures.

    The role begins as a hands-on Principal IC focused on delivering AI features, and evolves into the founding engineer and lead for our internal AI Platform, including prompt gateways, vector search infrastructure, agent orchestration, and reusable AI APIs for all product squads.

    This is a high-impact role with aggressive timelines—PoC delivery in 45 days and first production AI feature at day 90. The ideal candidate blends deep enterprise engineering experience, cloud native development expertise with strong AI systems intuition and a solid understanding of fintech/payments workflows.

    What You'll do:

    Deliver AI Features for Reconciliation & Onboarding (Phase 1 Priority)

    • Build semi-autonomous AI agents to automate reconciliation workflows, including:
      • Payment method and bank reports/ statement ingestion
      • Transaction matching
      • Discrepancy analysis
      • Exception explanation and routing
      • Report generation
    • Develop AI-assisted KYB/KYC extraction tools to accelerate onboarding:
      • Document parsing (IDs, certificates, statements).
      • Entity extraction & validation.
      • Risk flag identification.
    • Build necessary API interfaces and Integrate AI services into existing/new microservices and event-driven pipelines.

    AI Engineering, LLM Integration & Agent Orchestration

    • Implement prompt engineering, safety guardrails, and mechanisms to mitigate hallucinations during workflow execution.
    • Build and integrate semi-autonomous agents using LangGraph or similar frameworks.

    • Work with vector databases (PGVector, Pinecone, Weaviate—nice to have) for retrieval augmentation, semantic search, and agent memory.

    Cloud-Native & Enterprise Engineering Responsibilities

    • Deploy cloud-native AI services on AWS using Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and secure infra patterns.
    • Build scalable backend services using Spring Boot and event-driven flows via Kafka/RabbitMQ.
    • Implement observability for AI systems (tracing, cost monitoring, latency, and prompt logs).
    • Ensure strict compliance with:
      • PCI DSS (tokenization boundaries, card-data safety).

    • Partner with Engineering and Platform teams to design, evolve and build out our next-gen payment architecture ensuring scalability, and AI integration ready design from the get go.
    • Contribute (but not own) data ingestion pipelines needed for AI agents (PDF/CSV parsing, structured extraction e.t.c).

    AI Platform Evolution (Phase 2 Priority)

    After demonstrating initial business value:

    • Design and lead the build-out of our internal AI Platform, including:
      • AI gateway for model routing
      • Prompt library & prompt evaluation tooling
      • Retrieval pipelines & vector stores
      • Agent orchestration frameworks
      • Enterprise-grade governance and safety controls.
    • Act as the founding member of a future AI Product Engineering team, likely taking on the technical leadership role of the team as the platform expands.
    • Educate and coach internal squads on safe and effective use of AI tools.

    What we are looking for:

    Minimum Qualifications (Required)
