    Director Disaster Management

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Planning responses to emergencies and disasters to minimize risk to people and property.
    • Coordinating Disaster Risk Management programs, emergencies, policies, and strategies in the County.
    • Planning and directing disaster responses or crisis management activities.
    • Providing disaster preparedness training and emergency plans and procedures for natural disasters, fires, droughts, wartime, etc.
    • Organizing emergency response training programs for staff, volunteers, and first responders.
    • Reviewing emergency plans of individual departments such as medical facilities to ensure their adequacy.
    • Liaising with the national government agencies and civil society organizations for technical assistance.

    Requirements for Appointment:

    Fire Engine Operator - 2 Posts

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Reporting to the Chief Officer, the Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

    • Making routine daily checks and inspections of the fire engines to ensure it is in sound mechanical condition.
    • Ensuring general routine maintenance of the fire engine and equipment in line with the manufacturer’s manual/specifications.
    • Reporting any malfunctioning of the vehicle/fire engine systems.

    Director of Water and Irrigation

    Reports to the Chief Officer, Department of Water, Environment and Climate Change Services. The officer will be responsible for the following:

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Coordinating and management of water and irrigation projects in the county.
    • Carrying out feasibility studies and research activities for various aspects of water, sewerages, and hydraulic systems.
