    Community Associate

    About The Role

    F4E is expanding rapidly to reach more schools across Kenya. The Community Associate is a key role to create and sustain demand for F4E in new partner schools, whilst leading our entry into new counties/sub-counties through relationships with headteachers and Boards of Management.

    The Community Associate is responsible for overseeing day-to-day relationships with key sub-county level government officials who are crucial to our operations, growth, and regulatory compliance.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    Outward Growth and Demand Generation

    • Own relationships with head teachers, Board of Management (BoM) members and relevant sub-county stakeholders for F4E to begin working in a new school
    • Organize new school activations during the early stages of operations in a new sub-county. This includes but is not limited to coordinating the onboarding of parents in all new schools, supporting the setup and deployment of Tap2Eat and managing the relevant relationships with key stakeholders

    Local Government Relations

    • Build and maintain positive relationships with key government officials at sub-county levels across Nairobi and Central regions to increase support for and understanding of F4E
    • Support the overall delivery of the Policy & Partnerships local government relations strategy in new and existing sub-counties
    • Secure all county/sub-county level approvals for kitchen construction and operations by coordinating the applications for all relevant licenses and permits.

    Desired Candidate Profile

    • At least a Diploma in any relevant field
    • Experience building relations with local government officials, with a clear
      understanding of government processes that are critical to school feeding, and good knowledge of how local government in Kenya operates
    • Very good communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Kiswahili
    •  Strong external relationship management skills including negotiation skills and rapport building
    • Project management skills needed to deliver the local government relations strategy and achieve increasing student numbers across existing and future counties would be a nice-to-have
    • Analytical thinker with tactical skills and an ability to anticipate potential risks
    • Ability to make clear, actionable recommendations to team members and line managers
    • Have great interpersonal skills and is comfortable working with people of different seniority levels

    Financial Analyst

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide financial analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management team
    • Prepare monthly reports, which include key accounting and financial results based on analysis performed
    • Initiate the annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting processes
    • Coordinate with the finance team to review financial information and forecast
    • Establish and evaluate records, statements and profit plans
    • Identify opportunities and provide recommendation for performance improvement across the organisation
    • Maintain knowledge and keep abreast of new financial regulations or policies
    • Develop models that help with organisation wide decision-making
    • Evaluate capital expenditure and asset depreciation

    Desired Candidate Profile

    • 2-4 years of relevant experience with a proven track record in a similar role
    • An undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics or any other relevant field.
    • Professional qualification such as CFA/ACCA/CPA is a plus.
    • Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modelling
    • Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
    • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills
    • High attention to detail and accuracy is required

    Finance Manager

    About The Role

    We are hiring a Finance Manager who will be responsible for managing the finance docket. In addition to day-to-day financial operations, this individual will work very closely with the Head of Finance & Operations to build financial models and forecasts to inform future organisation financial plans.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manage all accounting functions, including bookkeeping/ledgering and financial transactions, and all asset, liability, and capital account entries.
    • Manage payroll and subsequently all relevant statutory deductions as well as petty cash.
    • Manage and track the organisation budget and inventory.
    • Manage the audit process and work closely with the auditors and senior management to establish financial controls and procedures to meet world-class accounting standards.
    • Provide financial analyses on operational costs and help develop and recommend strategies to reduce unit cost of Food for Education’s core service delivery.
    • Reconcile bank accounts and cash flow on a monthly basis.
    • Prepare regular financial management reports to the senior management team, including monthly closes, quarterly reports, and annual reports.
    • Comply with national and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
    • Prepare special/ad hoc financial reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising account information and trends.
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    Desired Candidate Profile

    • 3-5 years of relevant experience with a proven track-record in a similar role
    • An undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics or any other relevant field.
    • Professional qualification such as CFA/ACCA/CPA is required.
    • Experience with financial systems/software such as Quickbooks.
    • A solid understanding of local and international tax and accounting principles.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
    • Highly organised and detail oriented.
