    Oracle Database Administrator

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for support of Oracle database systems including but not limited to availability, performance, and reliability of database systems.
    • Responsible for interfacing with application development teams to ensure applications fit within the Oracle database systems with scalability, reliability and security designed and implemented from the onset. 
    • Perform database performance analysis, tuning, capacity planning, system sizing and ongoing maintenance to ensure maximum performance.
    • Implement database backup and recovery strategies that meet KCB’s recovery and availability requirements.
    • 5. Setup and document database related processes and procedures   for Business Continuity.
    • Recommend best practices and ensure they are implemented and incorporated into DBA procedures.
    • Diagnose and solve complex problems including non-functional problems such as performance issues with Oracle Engineered Systems by identifying workarounds and driving resolution.
    • Provide technical guidance for design, development, integration and testing of production Oracle databases.
    • Responsible for ensuring conformance to security standards for all Oracle databases.
    • Design BCP and HA solutions for Oracle database systems in order to achieve required uptime SLA for mission critical applications.

    Requirements:

    To be considered for the role, the successful applicant should have the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
    • 7 years’ progressive experience in Information Technology with at least 7 years’ experience in database management in environments with Oracle RAC, Dataguard, RMAN and Exadata Engineered Systems.
    • Certification in Oracle – Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) is required; Oracle Certified Master (OCM) is preferred.  
    • Experience in Opensource SQL database (MySQL/Maria DB, PostgreSQL) an added advantage.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

    Bancassurance Sales Representative

    JOB PURPOSE

    The Bancassurance Sales Representative will be responsible for the management of the day-to-day insurance business at the assigned branches by providing quick, seamless, timely, efficient and responsive service to customers.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Achieve sales targets (both Insurance and Retail) in accordance with the budgets provided; Deliver exceptional sales performance by identifying and meeting customer needs through selling & cross selling of General and Life insurance products.
    • Retention of customers within the assigned portfolio – Ensure retention ratio of 85%.
    • Drive the Life Partnership and ensure that set sales budgets are met.
    • Provide pipeline data as requested. Monitor your own sales performance on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and provide results to the Sales Managers.
    • Own customer queries and complaints around insurance products and resolve in a timely manner.  Escalate any unresolved queries to the Line Manager or the Head Office Bancassurance team.
    • Ensure accuracy of each application and all other customer documents. Accountable for the accuracy and quality of each application and supporting documents completed and submitted. 
    • Ensure all claims are reported to Head office Bancassurance team as guided while providing timely feedback to the clients. Assist the client to attach relevant documentation and have claim forms well completed.
    • Ensure premiums are collected strictly as per the credit control policy. 
    • Conduct Branch staff training on Bancassurance products.
    • Ensure compliance to the Group’s policies in delivering day-to-day business expectations.

    ACADEMIC QALIFICATION 

    • Have a minimum Mean Grade of C+ in K.C.S.E with a C+ in Mathematics and English.
    • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Marketing or Business Related from a Recognized Higher Learning Institution 
    • Professional Certification, Degree in Insurance. A Diploma in Insurance or a master’s degree will be an added advantage

    WORK EXPERIENCE 

    • One (1) Year experience in sales 
    • Six (6) Months experience in a customer facing role or relationship Management.
    • Knowledge of Insurance Products
