    Zipline Guide/ Operator

    Purpose of the Job

    To ensure safety of all guest by overseeing all activities under his/her supervision – plan, schedule, coordinate and report performance of the business line with the objective of generating revenue through the use of this attraction, the Zip Line operator assists guests in proper harness and helmet fitting, demonstrating proper zipping techniques, operating the zip line activity, breaking guest’s speed upon incoming approach, performing retrievals and rescues, inspecting equipment, and educating guests on how to enjoy it at best.

    Key Accountability

    • Take care of the operational aspects of the Zip line instructing guests in how to properly use the attraction.
    • Socialize with Guests giving special attention to the very young/old, any disadvantaged persons, guests travelling alone or of minor linguistic groups.
    • Listen to requests and comments of guests, taking positive action to solve any issue and by reporting any problems advised by the guest to the in charge Tenwek Hospital Community Health and Development.
    • Stimulate and help to create a social atmosphere amongst the guests.
    • Participate in all meetings of the entertainment and entertainment team if required by the in charge.
    • Report continuously about his/her job and activities to the in charge any entertainment issue and to the Zip Line Supervisor for any technical and operation issue.
    • Inspecting each platform for safety, cleanliness, and supplies (water, first aid, etc.

    Qualifications.

    • Provide direct oversight of the zip line operations by enforcing safety rules, supervising/protecting guests, rendering first aid/emergency care.
    • Ability to recognize safety concerns and provides a safe environment.
    • A strong knowledge of customer service philosophies and practices.
    • Must have the ability to climb stairs and handle heights.
    • Demonstrated ability to entertain, communicate and socialise with persons of all nationalities and all ages and backgrounds.
    • Above average skills in tactful, diplomatic crisis and problem handling.
    • High degree of oral, written communication and negotiation skills.
    • Proven ability to work in a harmonious productive team environment.
    • Prior experience with outdoor recreation, athletics, educational roles, high ropes instructor experience, or ziplining is an added advantage

    Bio Medical Engineer

    Purpose of the position

    Planning, organizing and implementing all medical maintenance activities in line with business objectives while ensuring that high standards of quality, cost and safety are maintained.

    Key roles and Responsibilities

    • Ensuring all planned departmental activities are geared towards meeting growth and quality objectives.
    • Planning, developing and implementing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes for all medical equipment within the group and maintaining accurate, up to date maintenance, monthly reports on the same.
    • Develop and ensure implementation of medical equipment maintenance standard operating procedures and policies in accordance with the policies of the hospital and other quality standards.
    • Lead in providing technical advice in the procurement of relevant equipment, spare parts, and critical supplies as per the company needs.
    • Carry out routine training as required of the maintenance staff and users in order to ensure correct usage and maintenance of equipment.
    • Support inventory management of medical equipment.
    • Continuously monitor work on site to installation and support and ensure compliance with the signed contracts and the approved plans and standards. Promptly report breaches to contractors.
    • Ensure adequate coverage of hospitals through monthly work schedules (ROTA) and supervising maintenance operations and staff.
    • Prepare weekly progress reports for all visits, including instructions, amendments, labour force, quality, Health and Safety.
    • Ensure compliance to the company health and safety requirements.
    • Preparing Medical Maintenance KPIs and reports including equipment availability, cost control, adherence to ppm.
    • Team play, respect the hospital’s chain of command and undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description.

    Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

    • Recognized diploma in Bio-Medical Engineering or a degree in the same from a recognized institution.
    • Membership in Association of Medical Engineers of Kenya (AMEK)
    • Minimum of 4 years’ work experience.
    • Experience in in working and collaborating with communities, County Governments and Government Ministries.
    • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS office, Microsoft outlook, excel and Power point.
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills

    Program Accountant

    Purpose of Position

    To provide overall management of finance function by promoting financial stewardship, accountability and accuracy of financial reports, effective resources management, accounting and safeguarding of assets. He/she will also be responsible for compliance with Tenwek Hospital financial process and policies.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities

    • Take lead in Tenwek Hospital Community Health and Development (THCH&D) Budget Application Process: making necessary revisions as maybe required; Reviews Project Progress Report (PPR) and send it to donor.
    • Maintain internal accounting system and records, and ensure reliability and integrity of financial management information systems, documentation and reports.
    • Monitor financial implementation and ensure that it is done in accordance with Tenwek Hospital procedures and approved budget by conducting regular project visits in liaison Program Team. Use findings to support development to improve on internal controls.
    • Take lead in tracking program budget call ups, expenditures and reporting.
    • Review Donor Audit Reports (AR) and Management Letters (ML) and ensure compliance with donor procedures and requirements.
    • Coordinate development of Audit ToRs including overseeing audit process.
    • Ensure timely submission of AR and ML to the donors.
    • Reviews the auditor’s findings and opinions of the current year and make follow-up to ensure project management has responded and subsequent corrective actions are taken.
    • Reviews and corrects of previous year’s auditor’s findings and opinions and ensures improvement in the subsequent year
    • Ensures all donor related income and expenditures are reported on donor financial Statement, clearly explained and reconciled with incomes and expenditures reported on Audited Reports
    • Reviews and ensures that the closing balance reported on Financial Statement is in conformance with the closing bank balance reported on the audit report
    • In liaison with Program Team, ensure all savings are approved before re-allocation and re-utilization.

    Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

    • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration and Management
    • Professional management qualification, in addition to finance qualification e.g. ACCA, CPA
    • Minimum five years’ work experience in same capacity within development sector
    • Strong and proficient skills in budget development, budget monitoring and donor financial report writing
    • Demonstrated experience and skills in partner capacity building (finance)
    • Excellent skill of using MS Word and Excel, PPT, and Outlook
    • Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet and word processing programs at a highly proficient level
    • Experience working directly with multi-funded donor programs and has an excellent understanding of current trends in managing (finance) donor funds
