• Oversee and supervise the operations of the School of Chaplaincy.
• Foster and maintain a clear vision for the future of the School of Chaplaincy that maintains a commitment to worldwide mission and the provision of continuous improvements.
• Lead the strategic planning processes within the framework set by the School of Chaplaincy Management Committee, under the authority of Tenwek Hospital.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in theology, Divinity, Biblical Studies, Christian Ministry, Chaplaincy, Education, Leadership, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Bachelor’s degree in theology, Divinity, Biblical Studies, Christian Ministry, Chaplaincy, or a related field.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Training of Trainers, or another recognized pedagogical qualification.
• Registration and valid licensing as a trainer with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA), where applicable.
• Training in curriculum development, competency-based education and training, assessment, institutional leadership, or quality assurance is desirable.
• Ordination or formal endorsement by a recognized evangelical Christian denomination.

Key Responsibilities

Medical-Legal & Clinical Risk Support

• Provide legal advice on medical negligence claims, patient complaints, and medico-legal exposure.
• Review and advise on incident reports, adverse event investigations, and medico-legal documentation.
• Coordinate with insurers, external advocates, and clinical leadership on claims management and litigation strategy.

Labour & Employment Relations

Litigation & External Counsel Management

• Coordinate all litigation matters involving the Hospital (medical, labour, commercial, data protection).
• Liaise with external advocates, insurers, regulators, and courts.
• Track legal cases, costs, timelines, and outcomes; prepare periodic litigation status reports for management.
• Support out-of-court settlements where appropriate and cost-effective.

Data Protection & Regulatory Compliance

• Support compliance with the Data Protection Act, 2019, including staff and patient data handling.
• Advise on data breaches, investigations, and mitigation actions.
• Support compliance with healthcare regulatory bodies and statutory requirements applicable to a Level 6 Teaching & Referral Hospital.

Governance, Ethics & Advisory

Job Purpose:

• To provide nursing services within the respective department, in order that the patient/client receives quality care for the honor and glory of God.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and enhance real-time dashboards and reports for performance tracking.
• Conduct trend analysis to identify anomalies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support compliance with national reporting standards (e.g., DHIS2) and donor reporting requirements.
• Build capacity among staff in data use and foster a culture of evidence-based decision-making.
• Recommend improvements in data systems and support health IT initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Statistics, Public Health, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in tools such as Excel, Power BI, STATA or SPSS.
• Experience with health information systems like DHIS2, EMR, or OpenMRS is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and ethical data use.
• Experience in quality improvement approaches (e.g., PDSA cycles, Lean Six Sigma).
