    Catering Officer Grade 8-9-10 (DEF), Student Catering Department, Central Administration

    AD/2/36/24 – 9 POSTS

    Applicants shall be holders of a Higher Diploma in either Institutional Management or Hospitality or equivalent qualifications from a recognized learning Institution. They should have six (6) years’ experience as Assistant Catering Officer grade ABC.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    The successful candidate will among other assignments be expected to: Implement Smooth, economic and efficient management the catering services in her/his kitchen in an economic, efficient and effective manner, Ensure prompt procurement of foodstuffs and other kitchen items and their safe custody, supervise staff under their jurisdiction, maintain their respective kitchen staff duty roaster and rotation schedules.

    Messenger Grade III, Students Catering Department

    Applicants must be holders of at least a KCSE certificate or its equivalent.     Assistant Secretary Grade A - Students Catering Department

     AD/2/41/24 - 1 POST
    Applicants must have:

    • At least KCSE C (Plain) or KCE Div. III or an equivalent qualification with a credit in English Language. (Those who were employed in the University before 2007 will be considered with the KCSE/KCE grades they have.) and must have completed the following subjects offered by KNEC or an equivalent certificate from a recognized examining body:
      • Business English III
      • Commerce II
      • Secretarial Duties II
      • Office Management III
      • Shorthand III (minimum 80 wpm) OR Audio typing writing III
      • Typewriting 50 wpm
      • Knowledge of word processing.

    OR

    • Long serving staff without professional qualifications but have satisfactorily served in the grade of Copy Typist grade IV for a minimum period of ten (10) years and must have passed typing practical test (50 wpm). They must show an indication or effort to improve their professional qualifications

    Professor, Department of Management Science and Project Planning

    • An applicant must be a holder of an earned PhD in Business Administration, Operations Management, Management Information Systems, Project Planning, or other Management Science related disciplines from a University recognized by the University of Nairobi Senate.
    • He/she must have a minimum of ten (10) years teaching experience; three of which (3) are at an Associate Professor level; Supervised to completion (CUMULATIVE) a minimum of three (3) PhD and five (5) masters students; OR A minimum of two (2) PhD and nine (9) Masters Students. A minimum of thirty nine (39) publication points from peer reviewed journals with; a minimum of six (6) publications in refereed scholarly journals OR A minimum of four (4) publications in refereed scholarly journals and two (2) scholarly book chapters since last promotion OR minimum of four (4) publications in refereed scholarly journals and two (2) peer reviewed working, discussion or occasional papers OR two (2) scholarly published teaching/ lecturer modules since last promotion; Attracted Research or development funds or educational resources as an Associate Professor or equivalent since last promotion and show evidence of community service and have Registered with relevant professional body.
    • The successful candidate will among other assignments be expected to: provide academic leadership, teach, mentor and supervise students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, undertake research in their areas of specialization.
