    Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

     

    Job responsibilties:

    1.   Participate in pre-sales technical exchanges and bidding scheme development in the IT projects;
    2.   Responsible for cloud system integration design and implementation;
    3.   Responsible for disaster recovery and backup solution design and implementation;
    4.   Responsible for server and storage system integration;
    5.   Responsible for the project cost analysis and budgeting.

    Requirements:

    1. Bachelor or above degree in engineering field, be good at English, able to use English as a daily language
    2. MUST HAVE 5 years + IT Infrastructure work experience with delivery or integration
    3. Training in the following: CCIE/CCNP/CCNA/MCSE/Oracle/Red hat/ IP contact center/ UNIX/LINUX/ cloud service/ MS exchange serves/MYSQL/MSSQL/ Web Administration/ Support training for ERP IDM, POS and integration solutions/ Competence on usage and support of CRM, Siebel, TIBCO, Splank, Google Web Analytics, Piwik software/tools/ISP/ITIL/ICDL
    4. Familiar with one or more of below IT technology, have ability to design related solution and deploy. 
                  • Typical x86 server and storage system integration
                  • Virtualization, cloud solution.
                      • Typical disaster recovery and backup solution
      5. Good communication skills and team work characteristics, maintaining good relationships with customers, and be logical and well organized.
      6. Team leader is preferred.
      7. Diagnosing difficult problems that normal engineer cannot deal with and report back to customers and project team.
      8. Familiar with Huawei IT products or have HP/IBM/VMware integration work experience is advantageous.
      9. Some travel is expected

    IT First Line Support

     

    Job responsibilties:

    To provide 1st line support for the entire Safaricom IT infrastructure:

    • Alarms monitoring and root cause analysis.
    • First Level of Troubleshooting.
    • Ticket creation and update/monitor.

    Requirements:

    1. At least 3 years’ experience in IT Support based on the above requirements

    Job responsibilties:

    To ensure that information for example on incidents identification, troubleshooting and resolution, is available in the right place and at the right time to enable informed decision making. To also improve efficiency by reducing the need to rediscover knowledge.

    • Ticket creation and update/monitor.
    • Escalation to Second Level of troubleshooting.
    • Provision of fault/alarm details to Second Level.

    Requirements:

      1. At least 3 years experience in Transmission Support based on the above requirements 
      2. B.Sc in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical/Computer/Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent.
      3. Other training requirements:
      4. - Microwave and Fiber transmission and access technologies training e.g TDM,SDH
        - Routing and Switching advanced training(CCNP)
        - Linux/UNIX/CentOS, virtualization environment training including HTTP/S
        - Training in RADIUS, AAA, TCP/IP, DHCP, SNMP, DNS Services, Mail Services, LDAP, Allot SGW.
        - Training & certification on Wireless Platforms 2G/3G/4G
        - MS SQL Server
        - Wimax, RF systems,FTTx,Fibre certifications
        - VMware Training
        - Clustering technologies training
        - Software configuration management products training such as Subversion or CVS
        - VAS Charging & Billing training
        - Routing and Switching Expert training(CCIE)
            - ISP services training e.g DNS, SMTP, POP3, RADIUS/PPPoE, Web Hosting.

    Manager Knowledge Management

     

    Job responsibilties:

    Network Performance Manager

     

    Job responsibilties:

    To manage the quality of the network and services offered to customers.

    • Escalation to Second Level of troubleshooting.
    • Provision of fault/alarm details to Second Level.
    • On call support to Field Operations.
    • Engagement of external Managed Service Providers for trouble resolution.

    Requirements:

      1. At least 3 years experience in Performance Management based on the above requirements. 
      2. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in Performance Management of Nokia & Huawei equipment 
      3. B.Sc in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical/Computer/Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent.
      4. Other training requirements:

    Technology Change Manager

     

    Job responsibilties:

    To control the lifecycle of all changes, enabling beneficial changes to be made with minimum disruption to Safaricom Network Services. The role holders will also manage logical access to all the Safaricom Technology infrastructure.

    • On call support to Field Operations.
