  • A few years ago, some friends who love backyard barbeques were talking: “This ‘bacon and beef burgers’ are amazing” “The grilled ‘bacon wrapped chicken legs’ are out of this world” “Why can’t we get this quality of food from any restaurant of fast food?” “I’d be willing to pay for this and make it fresh in my home with my kids” “Why do I pay so much for a burger with such little taste; or take a mortgage for an average one?. Which got us thinking… “It takes quite a long time to prepare this burger..” “We are using the best ingredients, is it possible to replicate this in the stores consistently?” “Are there a few people out there who feel like we do, and would pay for this quality of food which they would make quickly at the convenience of their homes?” To answer this question we went to the market and met lots of great food lovers. Almost without exception, the products were winners. Then we though, maybe it's sellers bias. So we visited an expat who makes bacon who told us (loudly),"Kenyans do not care about quality. As long as they get it cheap" Now, now calm down. Actually our expression was closer to this..: But we knew "Kenyans care about quality" "Kenyans care about health" "Africans want the best the world has to offer" So we set up a factory and tweaked the ingredients with an agenda to pack the best foods which can be purchased at a reasonable cost. Hopefully you will agree that our products are 'THE BEST'. We put our passion and energy every day to always do it better than everyone else and hope you enjoy the food.     MCG Sales & Marketing Manager

     

    Sales & Marketing Manager Job Duties & Responsibilities

    • Plan & execute daily sales & marketing function to ensure maximum revenue & profitability.
    • Meeting monthly sales targets for all our customers.
    • Develop & manage the productivity of the marketing plan and report monthly.
    • Develop and implement the marketing plan to increase revenue for all channels of the business.
    • Increase revenue of the existing customer base.
    • Generate & follow up on all potential sales leads and covert to real business.
    • Managing sales through customer visits, online marketing & assist with sales in store.
    • Develop and nurture relationships with key corporate clients including hotels, restaurants and institutions.
    • Manage broadcast, online and in store promotions to increase revenue.
    • Develop new strategies to compete with direct competition.
    • Create and maintain marketing budget and ensures all projects fall within budget guidelines.
    • Introduction of new products to meet customer demand.
    • Development and reporting of new business leads.
    • Sales forecasting and pricing strategy for the month/s ahead.
    • Deliver convertible, relevant site traffic and day-to-day management and review of the online marketing function including PPC, SEO, Email, Affiliates, Social, Content & Retargeting
    • Coordinate activities with social media ambassadors, bloggers and affiliates
    • Co-ordinate and monitor sales activities and RFPs.
    • Maintain customer relationship management and implement systemic sales and marketing standards & systems
    • Provide potential and existing clients with the highest level of sales service.
    • Monitor, review and report on all sales & marketing activity monthly and identify the areas where improvements can be made.
    • Organising events & representing the company at relevant trade exhibitions.
    • Lead, manage and motivate a team to deliver consistent high performance against defined objectives and targets
    • Analysis, selection & purchase of marketing and promotional material.
    • Assisting with customer queries, sales and pricing as required.
    • Use analytics to determine advertising ROI, sales and marketing strategy.
    • Celebrate individual and team success wildly.

    Qualifications for the Sales & Marketing Manager Job

    • Diploma or bachelors education/experience plus four years of FMCG sales in a mid/high-volume commercial food service or food processing operation required.
    • Have a proven track record in proactive FMCG sales and marketing.
    • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software, collaboration and CRM
    • Experience in social media
    • 2 years practical experience in Tier1 retail
