    Quality Assurance Manager

    Quality Assurance Manager Job Responsibilities

    • Determining, negotiating and agreeing on in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications
    • Assessing customer requirements and ensuring that these are met
    • Setting customer service standards
    • Ensure adherence to HACCP and GMP materials
    • Maintaining safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment and resources.
    • Specifying quality requirements of raw materials with suppliers
    • Investigating and setting standards for quality and health and safety
    • Ensuring that production and quality processes comply with standards at both national and international level
    • Working with production and quality assurance staff to establish procedures, standards and systems.
    • Preparing daily quality and analysis reports and ensures that all the records are up to date.
    • Determining training needs
    • Acting as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality
    • Directing objectives to maximize profitability

    Qualifications for the Quality Assurance Manager Job

    • Degree in Bachelor Food Science/ Dairy Science Technology.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience as quality assurance manager in Milk /Food processing plant.

    • A keen eye for detail and a results driven approach
    • Outstanding communication skills

    Dairy Production Manager

    The role holder will be expected to deliver the production requirement by processing products in compliance to the established/agreed quality standards by optimizing the resources and by continuously improving the way things are done to attain total quality of the products and achieve low cost of the process.

    The role reports to the General Manager.

    Dairy Production Manager Job Duties & Responsibilities

    • Plan and delivery supply to meet the business/market/sales volume including new launches, re-launches, promotions and out of ordinary demands
    • Closely liaise with the raw milk procurement officer to plan and execute daily processing schedules
    • Coordinate with sales and marketing manager in growing the market and addressing market issues/complaints/returns etc.
    • Establish system for daily raw materials balance and control
    • Developing and implementing measurement systems (KPI) to improve performance at the manufacturing/shop floor
    • First time right in Quality for new products and revalidate Quality systems.
    • Innovation and new product development delivery
    • Managing team and individual performance through regular/daily/hourly reviews, monitoring processes and ensuring correction/adjustment needs are identified and effected
    • Health, Safety and Environment management to comply with statutory requirements and in line with the company safety policy
    • Prepare or cause preparation of daily quality, occurrence, maintenance and production reports

    Qualifications for the Dairy Production Manager Job

    • Degree in Food Technology/Engineering from a credible institution
    • Over 8 years in a highly perishable food manufacturing environment 4 of which must be at senior supervisory level
    • Prior experience in the Dairy processing is an added advantage
    • High level leadership and decision making skills as well as ability to motivate and train people
    • Sound knowledge of several manufacturing operations and production procedures, innovative tools and machines for handling assigned manufacturing projects
    • Demonstrated competence in planning and forecast
    • Profound acquaintance with dynamics in cold supply chain
    • Familiarity with new products designing and development

    Assistant Production Manager

    His/hers main function is to meet set production targets with the highest quality and the highest practicable efficiency as per the Company specifications.

    Role Dimensions:

    1. Organize the efficient processing of dairy products from raw materials through to the finished product ready for dispatch.
    2. Coordinate and liaise with all service departments to ensure that all relevant information is communicated.
    3. Monitor and control all efficiency associated with production.
    4. Control and motivate personnel to operate within defined safety and quality standards.

    Assistant Production Manager Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Obtain an intimate knowledge of all operations to be carried out during the shift.
    • Design and implement production schedule in order to achieve daily sales allocation from production plan to coincide with product dispatch deadlines. Continuous review throughout shift.
    • Ensuring there is controlled and minimized wastage of raw materials throughout production process pertaining to all used commodities.
    • Supervise efficient and hygienic acceptance of raw materials.
    • Ensure production line operation with high efficiency and labour control.
    • Responsible for silo management including standardization, stock, rotation, CIP and identification of milk for specific product usage.
    • Observe and liaise to ensure that finished products meet all Company specifications. Provide workable solutions to associated problems.
    • Ensure that all aspects of good manufacturing practice are adhered to, so that personal hygiene and safety requirements within Company are complied with.
    • Control the efficient use of manpower and overtime. Organize personnel shifts to achieve maximum efficiencies of labour to coordinate rest days, sick leave, training requirements and holiday entitlement.
    • Provide guidance to the team of production e.g machine operators and assistants.
    • Ability to train personnel and provide direction.
    • R&D methods for improving performance and minimizing costs.
    • Ensure that all scheduled operations; preventative maintenance is completed according to procedures within determined time frames.
    • Collate and supply data to facilitate preparation of daily/monthly production and productivity reports.
    • Compile shift production log.
    • Provide accurate and timely information to Management.
    • Operate as part of the plant team to ensure the meeting of set production targets.
    • Maintain required standard of housekeeping in designated area.
    • Maintain personal hygiene standards.
    • He/she accepts responsibilities and agrees to work extended hours if required, which includes rest days and public holidays.
    • Any other duties assigned to him/her production manager

    Qualification and Experience for the Assistant Production Manager Job

    • Degree in Bsc – Food Science, Dairy Technology or equivalent qualifications.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and discipline.
    • 10 years’ experience working in a UHT milk processing plant
