    Laboratory Technologist

    Reporting to the branch team leader, the Lab Technologists main duties will be to analyze samples of blood, tissue and body fluids to determine chemical content, cell count, drug levels or blood type; they may also search for specific microorganisms.

    The individual will also prepare the samples for examination, using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation, performing numerous complicated tests simultaneously, and accurately interpreting the results.

    Duties for the Laboratory Technologist Job

    • Cleaning and sterilizing laboratory glass ware, surfaces and equipment;
    • Documenting and receiving samples for analysis;
    • Preparing laboratory reagents; carrying out chemical/microbiological analysis on samples (food, water, waste waters and beverages);
    • Extracting, isolating and identifying drugs, pesticides and heavy metals from biological and miscellaneous samples;
    • Preparing cultures of tissue samples
    • Microscopically examining slides of bodily fluids

    System Administrator

    The individual’s main role will be to manage and give technical support to all users in various software applications in the Health Group. These include the clinical software and the Group ERP system.

    Duties for the System Administrator Job

    • Manage the Group software applications in order to achieve efficient usage of the applications and produce accurate and timely reports for the users.
    • Sort out software user problems as presented by users at the IT Help Desk.
    • Assist in performing daily, weekly and monthly backups and ensure that all backup media are accurately recorded and stored as required.
    • Perform programming (systems’ development) tasks/duties as assigned.
