    Nutrition Officer III

    Job Purpose

    Nutrition Officer III will be responsible to the Senior Nutrition Officer for the provision of quality nutritional and diet services to the patients.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Implementing nutrition programmes.
    • Performing nutritional assessment on patients and plan for their care and subsequent reviews appropriately.
    • Determining nutritional requirements, order patients’ meals and prepare feeding regime.
    • Providing nutrition health education and demonstrations
    • Counseling of patients with specific nutritional needs.
    • Collecting and compiling nutrition data.
    • Implementing outpatient and inpatient supplementary and therapeutic feeding programmes.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Diploma in Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition or Nutrition and Dietetics from a recognized institution.
    • Certificate in Computer Application skills from a recognized institution.
    • Registration by the Council of the Institute of Nutritionists and Dieticians (CIND).
    • At least two (2) years progressive work experience in an NHIF accredited health facility.
    • Certificate in computer operations from a recognized institution

    Assistant Chief Corporate Affairs & Communication Officer

    Job Purpose

    Assistant Chief Corporate Affairs & Communication Officer will be responsible to the Corporate Affairs and Communications Manager for provision of quality corporate
    communication functions in the Hospital

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Developing and delivering a wide range of informational, educational, and promotional material concerning the activities of the Hospital.
    • Interface with hospital management, departmental staff and stakeholders to develop and implement communications programs.
    • Implementing internal and external marketing and communication tools and strategies in line with the KNH Corporate Communication and Marketing policy.
    • Coordinating events and visits to ensure the Hospital achieving sustainable advantage and that visitors’ experience is hospitable.
    • Developing and implementing departmental strategic objectives in line with the balanced scorecard and the KNH strategic plan.
    • Maximizing audience awareness of the services of various departments of the Hospital in collaboration with the Corporate Affairs and Communications Manager.
    • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with the media and other partners to help achieve challenging audience development and other departmental targets.
    • Maintaining relevant statistics and information relating to the overall operation of the department.
    • Devising systems to ensure that Hospital Education and information materials are distributed effectively.
    • Disseminating all Hospital information using all available and relevant Media.
    • Developing, implementing and monitoring departmental Performance Contract.
    • Identifying and maintaining Hospital linkages with possible donors and corporate institutions to support KNH healthcare services.
    • Providing reports to the manager as required.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: International Relations, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or equivalent from a recognized institution.
    • A postgraduate diploma in either Communications, Journalism, Public Relations
    • A Master’s Degree in one of the following: International Relations, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations will have an added advantage.
    • At least five years relevant work experience in a senior position in a large organization
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, typing, desktop publishing especially in design graphics design and Adobe Photoshop

    Medical Engineering Technologist III

    Job Purpose

    Medical Engineering Technologist III will be responsible to the Senior Medical Engineering Technologist for delivery of efficient and effective quality care, use of medical equipment and service

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Preparing and Implementing planned preventive maintenance.
    • Repairing of all medical equipment.
    • Advising on technical aspects relating to biomedical equipment.

    • Proven experience of at least three (3) years at the level of Medical Engineering Technologist or equivalent position in a large organization.

    Physiotherapist III

    Job Purpose

    The Physiotherapist III will be responsible to the Senior Physiotherapist for ensuring patient treatment satisfaction through delivery of efficient and effective physiotherapy services.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assessing, formulating and implementing patients treatment plan
    • Carrying out clients functional assessments and formulating intervention measures.
    • Maintaining record and data relating to patients
    • Providing health education to patients and care givers.
    • Collecting data for operational research.
    • Protecting patients and support staff by adhering to infection control protocols.
    • Sensitizing the community on existing and emerging physiotherapy issues.
    • Implementing and monitoring outpatient and inpatient physiotherapy programmes.
    • Ensuring compliance with the set standards operating procedures
    • Preparing periodic reports

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Diploma in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
    • At least two (2) years progressive work experience in an NHIF accredited health facility.
    • Registration by the Kenya Society of Physiotherapists.
    • Evidence of at least attendance of accredited continuous professional medical education will be an added advantage.

    The Nursing Officer II will be responsible to the Senior Nursing Officer for planning of nursing care of patients in the respective areas.

    • Post-basic training in any of the following specialities: Critical Care, Operating Room, Paediatrics, Neonatal, Accident & Emergency nursing and have at least one (1) year experience in the area of speciality.
    • Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
    • Valid Practising License from Nursing Council of Kenya.
    • Certificate in computer operations from a recognized institution

    Quality Assurance Manager

    Job Purpose

    The Quality Assurance Manager will be reporting the Head of Quality Health Care and will be responsible for the delivery of quality services in the Hospital.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Setting performance targets for the Unit and ensure they are achieved.
    • Developing and implementing Unit plans in line with corporate objectives.
    • Coordinating Quality Management System activities in line with ISO 9001:2008 Standards.
    • Carrying out day-to-day management of the Unit.
    • Formulating quality assurance policies and procedures for the hospital.
    • Budgeting and ensuring budgetary control for the Unit.
    • Supervising, appraising and ensuring appropriate training of personnel.
    • Participating in development of the Unit’s Work plan and budget.
    • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
    • Mentoring and coaching staff.
    • Participating in the implementation of the performance management system in the Unit.
    • Providing technical and professional guidance to staff.
    • Participating in research related to quality assurance
    • Participating in the preparation of the Hospital performance contract.
    • Reviewing policies and procedures in accordance to the best practice.
    • Designing and reviewing processes for risk management.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Masters Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Health Management, Public Health, Nursing, Environmental Sciences or its accepted equivalent.
    • Proven experience of at least three years in a managerial position in a large organization, preferably in quality management or public health.
    • At least three years (3) experience as a Lead Auditor in ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems and a certificate in ISO 9001:2015.
    • A certificate in ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems course and ISO 22000:2005 Food Safety Management Systems course will be an added advantage.
    • Attended a course in Performance Management and strategic leadership.
    • Degree or post-graduate qualification in quality management will be an added advantage.
    • Proficiency in MS office application systems and statistical analysis packages.
