Reporting to: Senior Behaviour Change Officer
Duty station: Dadaab, Garissa County
Contract duration: 12 months (3 months’ probation) with possibility of extension to 1 year based performance
Main responsibilities;
- Provide relevant life skills training to out of adolescent school children within the camp
- With the support of Psychosocial Team, Conduct peer to peer support groups sessions/trainings for adolescent boys and girls out of schools with their parents and caregiver
- Identify information gaps among the beneficiaries specifically adolescent boys and girls and provide feedback to Senior Behaviour Change Officer for timely response
- With the Support of the Senior Behaviour Change Officer, develop and disseminate child protection messages to children and families at community level information clinics and through Local Radio Shows
- Represent Tdh in Voluntary repatriation meetings/forums at camp level

Requirements
- Minimum Degree in Social Work, Education, Community Development or Psychology from a recognized institution
- Experience in use of community based approaches
- 2-year experience in Child Protection field
- Experience working with adolescents will be an added advantage

Main Responsibilities;
- Under the supervision of the Bid Senior Officer, conduct BIA/BID documentation for children in Hagadera
- Coordinate with the CP Casework Officers and psychosocial team ensure programme integration, case referral, implementation of BID recommendations and coordination at camp level
- Produce timely progress reports, including both qualitative and quantitative information, on BIA/BID activities and input into regular situation reports, monthly reports and quarterly reports
- Identify and build links with other partners, ensuring that issues for child protection are raised and addressed
- Coordinate the identification, follow up of children in alternative care and monitoring of foster parents/guardianship
- Ensure the placement of children in alternative care adhere to Tdh procedure and with the Kenya alternative care guidelines (Guidelines for Alternative care of children in Kenya 2011)
- Supervision of social workers reporting to this post

Requirements

Main Responsibilities;
- Identify or receive referrals and screen cases of children in need of psychosocial support from the camp
- Support Tdh Community Animators at the Child Friendly spaces and girls screened areas to conduct, supervise and monitor structured play activities to children
- Build the capacity of community workers on basic psychosocial skills
- Ensure that cases of children identified in need of psychosocial support are appropriately supported through direct support and referral services
- Conduct peer to peer support groups sessions for girls and boys including their parents/caregivers
- Participate in camp level cases conferences and produce case plans, minutes and meeting reports as deemed necessary
- To coordinate with the Data clerk to ensure that psychosocial services provide to children are updated in the AICPIMS in a timely manner He/she will conduct his or her duties in respect of the Charter of Terre des hommes and the Tdh Child Protection Safeguarding Policy.

Reporting to: Child Protection Technical Coordinator
Duty station: Dadaab, Garissa County
Contract duration: 12 months (3 months’ probation) with possibility of extension to 1 year based performance
Main responsibilities;
- To provide psychosocial support to selected cases of high risk cases or cases in need of specialized psychosocial support or mental health interventions
- Participate in need assessments and project evaluations aiming at contributing to the development of the child protection programme strategy for the refugee community project in Dadaab refugee complex
- To support in the development of intervention criteria for the psychosocial cases and design appropriate technical responses to psychosocial and mental health cases
- Provide training and supervising the CP team and community based structures on the management of children and families with basic psychosocial and mental concerns
- Train CP team members on the child friendly interviews techniques and implementation of psychosocial assessment
- Under the supervision of the Child Protection Technical coordinator, coordinate with the Child Protection Senior officer on assistance response to cases of children in need of psychosocial interventions
- Establish and monitor psychosocial and resilience building activities for all children at existing Tdh facilities or in the community
- Develop networks for referral of high risk cases and ensure regular follow ups of cases in need of additional and mental health need
- Participate and represent Tdh in relevant working group meetings/Forums at camp and Dadaab level to enhance coordination and foster good working relationship with partners
- Develop unit reports as required

Reporting to: Child Protection Technical Coordinator

Main responsibilities:
- Specifically, Responsible for behaviour change components of the project
- Establish the behaviour change project structures at community level
- Coordinate with the behaviour change Officers the roll out of behaviour change project activities
- Provide training and mentorship to Behaviour Change Officers and Community’s Own Child Protection Mentors
- Coordinate with relevant partners/agencies through participating in working group meeting and building new partnerships on livelihood programmes
- Build the capacity of the teams to ensure that the transfer of positive and essential behaviour knowledge, and attitudes and practices to children, parents/caregivers and community groups and other groups as may be identified during the project period
- Build string link between the teams and community structures to ensure that the behaviour change objectives are realised
- Provide the overall leadership role to the behaviour change teams
- Participate in needs assessments and project evaluations
- Develops plans and reports in line with the donor requirements

Requirements:
- Degree in Community development, Social Work, Psychology or any other relevant Social Sciences from a recognised University
- A minimum of 4 years of practical experience in developing and implementing community behaviour change interventions
- Knowledge on child protection
- Practical experience in identifying barriers to behaviour change and developing innovative ways of addressing them.
- Good documentation and report writing skills.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Team management experience
- Willingness to work in insecure environment
- Leadership skills
