    Insurance Claims

    Job Description

    • Register and analyse intimated claims and advise client on supporting claims documents;
    • Appoint service providers where applicable;
    • Analyze adjuster/ Investigators claim reports to recommend settlement/ approve/ admit;
    • Process fully documented claims and referring any suspicious claims to the supervisor;
    • Initiate reinsurance and third party recoveries (written demand letters);
    • Review claims reserves on a continuous basis in view of new developments and to close files where all payments have been made;
    • Process all service providers invoices and payment within the set standards;
    • Issue discharge vouchers for all fully documented claims;
    • Attend to customer queries and complaints promptly and professionally;
    • Communicate risk improvement measures to the underwriter to take appropriate action;
    • Follow up on claims payments and
    • Prepare various claims analysis reports for clients and management consumption.

    Qualifications

    • Diploma in business or Insurance or in a relevant field / Relevant technical training certificate
    • Part qualification in relevant professional field in IIK or ACII
    • Up to two (2) years’ relevant experience
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Problem solving skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Good analytical skills
    • Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications
    • Understanding of the working environment /competitors
    • Technical competence in insurance
    • Basic knowledge of regulations by AKI and IRA

    Business Development Manager

    Job Description

    To drive marine business through all sales units distribution network by championing and carrying out marketing activities so as to ensure the company achieves its corporate sales revenue budget, profitability and customer service.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Drive the achievement of targeted company sales targets on marine through the sales units distribution network
    • Monitor marine business performance and take corrective action so as to meet the set targets
    • Identify opportunities for further marine business growth and implement strategies to take advantage of them
    • Manage all costs within the marine marketing budget for the Company
    • Submit quality and accurate marine business reports in a timely manner for review by senior management
    • Conduct joint field work with intermediaries/clients when necessary to support their business development activities
    • Conduct regular workshops and seminars aimed at communicating and developing marine business
    • To establish new networks for marine business in the company
    • Ensure customer service standards are met as per the customer service charter
    • Imparting product & process training to the marine stakeholders partners
    • Collect market intelligence so as to enable the company maintain a competitive edge
    • Ensure that the CIC brand reaches all potential marine clients so as to ensure profitability.
    • Oversee the establishment of strategic linkages with intermediaries and contribute to strengthening cooperative strategic linkages in marine business.
    • Advise the team on potential opportunities on imports into the country and by whom.
    • Liaise with all importers into the county on our positioning on providing competitive insurance
    • Advise on portal improvements after feedback and keep it enhanced with new development
    • Ensure increased uptake of marine business through the marine on line portal

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree in business related studies or any relevant discipline
    • ACII or AIIK
    • At least 5 years’ relevant experience, 2 of which must be at a supervisory level.
    • Knowledge of the practice of marine cargo business will be an added advantage
    • Demonstrated skills in strategic thinking, formulating strategies and driving strategic initiatives within a large company.
    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills and the ability to work vertically throughout the entire CIC Structure.
    • Must be extremely organised, yet comfortable in a rapidly changing, dynamic environment.
    • Ability to drive complex strategy projects in the company
    • Analytical skills
    • Ability to proactively identify and crystallise strategy development needs and turn them into projects.
    • Proven ability to build relationships at all levels within an organisation
    • Ability to handle multi-tasking environment, meet deadlines, and work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues
    • Good negotiation skills
    • Leadership skills
    • Knowledge of marine products
