Specific areas of responsibilities include:
- In consultation with the project manager, the Agribusiness and Marketing Officer will plan for effective execution of the business and marketing related project activities for the Rehabilitation of Ecosystem and Agriculture Project (REAP) as outlined in the project proposal.
- Monitor and support timely and appropriate utilization of budgeted resources for related project interventions as well as ensure effective and timely response plans
- Work closely with key stakeholders and community members in establishment of beneficiary targeting criteria as well as identifying various vulnerable groups, disaggregating these groups on gender and age and developing a detailed beneficiary data base.
- Support community/Farmers Capacity building on alternative livelihood options through group saving associations modalities
- Design appropriate Group Saving and Loaning Associations (GSLA) and Agriculture training curriculum as per targeted modules
- Take lead in establishment and modulated training of targeted Community Members on GSLA
- Coordinate with the Project manager to ensure that appropriate controls, monitoring and evaluation tools are in place and being utilized in a timely manner in the implementation process.
- Contribute to effective and timely implementation of project activities
- Fostering partnership and networks with stakeholders. e.g. the government ministries, relevant civil society organization’s and community based groups
- Prepare articles, stories and photographs that can be used to enhance the projects’ image
- Work closely with the stakeholders and community lead persons in identification of GSLAs groups
- Coordinate product promotion during market days and conduct market research for farmers produce
- Support project manager in providing technical support, trainings and overseeing the establishment of the vegetable gardens, fruit nurseries and model farms
- Develop, review and revise (as required) training materials to address identified gaps and meet local capacities
- Ensure regular visits to GSLA and marketing groups to offer technical support
- Represent the ADRA Kenya and actively participate in County and Sub-county Planning and Coordination meetings if it is necessary
- Prepare project documentation including quarterly and monthly project reports on implementation status, intermediate and final narrative reports as per donor requirements and sending them to manager and other relevant team members for review/further action within set deadlines.

Candidate profile Qualifications
- This position would suit a candidate with a university bachelor’s degree preferably in Agribusiness/Agriculture/Agricultural economics or related area.
- Two or more years’ experience in successfully promoting increased production and marketing of agriculture products.
- Two or more years of experience promoting Group saving and loaning associations (GSLAs).
- Agricultural extension experience and coordination of development programs with some experience in farmer cooperatives agricultural credit. Experience with value chains related to agricultural products/horticultural products and livestock.
- Ideally, candidates will have had experience facilitating: Agribusiness, Marketing, Post-harvest handling, Enterprise Development, Business Development Services, Business Linkages.

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Livelihood Officer will purposely plan, implement, monitor and document all project activities as outlined in the proposal. Generally he/she will provide necessary technical support, related training, follow-up, and guidance to Rehabilitating Agriculture and Rangeland ecosystems (RARE) project.
Specific areas of responsibilities include:
- In consultation with the project manager, the livelihood officer will plan for effective execution of the project activities related to rehabilitation of agriculture and rangeland ecosystems as outlined in the project proposal which includes but not limited to skills, practices and capacities geared towards improving food security in Mandera West.
- Monitor and support timely and appropriate utilization of budgeted resources for related project interventions as well as ensure effective and timely response plans
- Work closely with the project manager to conduct sound and rational baseline and end line surveys as per ADRA Kenya requirement an donor policies
- Take lead in community mobilization and sensitization as per the planned project activities
- Work closely with key stakeholders and community members in establishment of beneficiary targeting criteria as well as identifying various vulnerable groups, disaggregating these groups on gender and age and developing a detailed beneficiary data base
- Compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports as per donor guidelines and ADRA Policy
- Organize and coordinate farmers/pastoralist (Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration) FMNR exchange visits and open days

Duties and responsibilities
The Programs Manager will be responsible for execution of the following duties.
- Provide technical leadership and managerial oversight for the projects, and ensure timely implementation and reporting of activities.
- Assist Program Director in providing innovative solutions that would prove radically useful and time, cost-saving across the work of ADRA Kenya.
- Strategizing: Assist Program Director in ensuring that the mission, values and strategic direction of ADRA Kenya is known, understood and followed by all staff. This strategic perspective is expressed in a practical manner in detailed, time-bound operational plans (OKRs). Plan, manage, organize and evaluate the administration of program in accordance with ADRA's policies and procedures. Responsible for innovative ways of building a sustainable program portfolio. Constantly evaluate and look how to improve the programs department.
- Strategizing: Assist Program Director in review and evaluation of the projects progress. Work with the project managers to develop actions plans to incorporate or implement findings and recommendations in the projects operation and finance. Take the lead in the development of objective evaluation criteria for assessing the program planner, project managers/coordinators performance and training needs.
- Team builder: Assist Program Director to ensure smooth, timely and quality operation of the Programs Department. Supervision, coaching, mentoring and management of programs department staff. Provide managerial support and supervision to the program planner, project managers/coordinators by setting the work standards, provides on-going guidance, coaching and mentoring. Coordinate regular meetings with program staff. Performance evaluation of the Programs Department staff. Initiate firing and hiring needs.
- Assist Program Director in preparation of reports for each board meeting from the assigned area of work.
- Regular field visits if budget and security allows.
- Assist Program Director in development, maintenance and update of all policies directly connected to the Programs Department. Assist in developing all organizational policies.
- Assist Program Director in seeking and development of diversified funding opportunities and financing of projects by building and maintaining strong relationships with donors, multilateral organizations, other development agencies and ADRA supporting offices. Finalization of reports and key donor correspondence. Ensure effective project monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Assist Program Director in overseeing implementation of donor contracts including monitoring of financial inputs and expenses, and activity reporting. Assist in writing proposals
- Monitor program progress and report to Program Director.
- Any other duty or responsibility as assigned by the Program Director.

Candidate profile Qualifications
- Eligible candidates must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (preferably Development/Leadership and Management/Agribusiness/Health).
- Three or more years’ of Technical and managerial experience in food security programs.
- Key personnel will be evaluated based on education and experience related to the program, and on demonstrated effectiveness for program implementation and working with international NGOs.
