    Head Of Retail

    Job description

    An international technology company are looking to bring on a Head of Retail to join their team in Kenya supporting their stores across Africa. As the Head of Retail, you will be responsible for the creation & management of a profitable chain of stores, inlcuding identifying & obtain best possible store locations & franchisee partners.

    This role is responsible for the creation & management of a profitable chain of stores. This role will ensure compliance with national strategies, while delivering a strong local competitive edge.

    • Strategic Roll outs:
      • Identify & obtain best possible store locations & franchise partners
      • Oversee the vendor eco-system from contracting to performance reviews
      • Own delivery of an agreed roll out plan as per agreed quality standards
      • Ensure plan for closure of current ARC during conversion
      • Device Management
    • Store Operations & Audit / Compliance:
      • CAPEX Management for retail shops
      • Management of all vendor & partner relationships
      • Management of franchisee relationship
      • Maximize efficiency of store support processes to ensure error free retail operations
      • Ensuring total compliance with all defined processes & systems
      • Identification of issues & areas of improvement based on on-going analysis of KPIs
      • Manage issues with local authorities, if any
      • Profitability:
      • Manage overall financial performance of the store through delivery of agreed revenue & cost targets
      • Ensure profitability of each store & devise strategies for non-performing stores
      • Devise marketing programs
      • Competitive benchmarking for improvement of productivity
      • People Development / Team Management:
      • Create a high performing Own Retail team
      • Oversee the process for procuring outsourced store staff
      • Ensure deployment of national training initiatives; supplement through local inputs
    • Customer Experience:
      • Responsibility for delivery of agreed CSMM targets
      • Identify areas of improvement & ensure implementation of programs
    • Challenges
      • Resolution of conflicting directions between OR central team & regional leadership/ manpower attrition/ identification & procurement of best locations/ oversight of roll out/ management of issues with franchisee/ delivery of profitability/ geographical spread of operations

    Requirements

    • 10-12 years experience.
    • Must have exposure in retail operations.

    Head of Mobile Money

    Job description

    An international technology company are looking to bring on a Head of Mobile Money to join their team in Kenya supporting their Mobile Money business across Africa. As the Head of Mobile Money, you will be responsible for leading and managing the overall Mobile Money business, performance & strategy in the region

    Responsible for leading and managing the overall Mobile Money business and performance of the Mobile Money P&L entity in the region, cascading the group’s Mobile Money strategic direction and priorities; defining, tracking and enforcing ways of working with the objective of achieving the strategic intent and periodic AOP. Also, champion the implementation of key Initiatives and extraction of determined results from those initiatives.

    Define the strategy & roadmap for the Mobile Money business within the existing & evolving regulatory, industry & technological framework in the region; develops globally benchmarked strategies aligned to the organization’s long term vision and competitive landscape

    • Provide leadership in the Operating plan KPI’s and objectives
    • Ensure Mobile Money is integrated into all Regional and OPCO initiatives, campaigns and plans
    • To incubate (conceptualize, develop the product proposition) & establish Mobile Money as the new, significant and sustainable revenue stream within the mainstream GSM business. This business will need to be seen as a cluster of financial services products for adoption by large consumer, institutional and government segments
    • Provides consultative direction for the OPCOs towards predetermined short and long-term goals and objectives. Reviews businesses, assignments, initiatives and determines course of action to be pursued to obtain targeted results. Optimally engage OPCOs ECs to ensure Mobile Money full ownership and drive
    • Build the mobile payments ecosystem by identifying & aligning partners with our tactical & strategic business goals and ensuring their support for the business roadmap and customer delight objectives
    • Optimally engage OPCOs via visits, reviews, meetings/calls to ensure “compare and share”, alignment with the strategic intent, implementation of key prioritizes/initiatives and that OPCOs is fully enabled to deliver the AOP
    • Liaise with regulators, bank, payment companies and other technology providers to develop mobile payments sector
    • Fully engage OPCO MD and EC to ensure Mobile Money is top of mind and fully owned and championed by them as a non-negotiable
    • Coordinate with legal and regulatory teams on effectively managing regulatory requirements

    Requirements

    • 15+ years’ experience in related field; at least 5 years leadership experience
    • Able to handle, prioritize, multiple projects simultaneously
    • Proven ability to analyze complex business issues and identify, design and implement effective practical recommendations
    • Business Management experience mandatory
