    Finance Intern

    Farsight is recruiting a Finance Intern with demonstrated experience in finance and accounting. Working closely with Finance departments, the finance intern is instrumental in supporting program activities through his/her services.

    Essential Job Responsibilities

    • Receive and process all cash advances on time and arrange for bank runs in coordination with the Finance Officer to ensure cash is availed to staff and sub recipients on a timely basis.
    • Receive and examine payment requests supporting documents
    • Assist with recording invoices into the accounting system
    • Follow up on positing of captured invoices for timely payment processing
    • Processing all payment requests submitted from suppliers and staff
    • Maintain an unpaid invoices file
    • Ensure that all recurrent invoices and utility bills are paid on time
    • Recording and updating financial books of accounts with payments
    • Record grant liquidations after review by Finance Officer
    • Assist in preparation of journals/ Filing all financial documents
    • Reviewing of supplier reconciliation/accounts payable and ensure accounts payable are up to date
    • Assist in the production of monthly financial reports
    • Other duties as requested by the supervisor
    • Purchase of office supplies.

    Reports Directly To: Finance Officer

    Knowledge and Experience

    • Relevant Degree in Finance or Accounting
    • Atleast CPA Part 2
    • Atleast 1 year of experience
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Excellent oral and written English skills.
    • High computer skills on MS Office programs, especially in MS Excel.

    Procurement & Administration Officer

    Essential Job Responsibilities

    • Procurement
      • Daily coordination of Farsight Africa’s procurement activities.
      • Full understanding of Farsight Africa’s procurement policies and formats. Assists, as needed, in training staff on these policies.
      • Assist Program and operational personnel in regular procurement planning meetings.
      • Assists staff as needed on creating clear and understandable purchase requests and other documentation.
      • Collect quotations and bids from the market– as per Farsight Africa’s standards and formats.
      • Interact with contractors, in coordination with the Production manager.
      • Prepare the required documentation of supplies and transactions and completed to Farsight Africa’s standards.
      • Prepare status reports on deliveries for P&L and office Management and recipient of supplies.
      • Assist in the maintenance of thorough procurement files as outlined in the Farsight Africa’s procurement policy.
      • Assist the P&L management and office staff with procurement activities, as required.
      • Assists P&L Management with asset management. Identify assets during the course of procurement and notify the Asset Controller on receipts of assets.
      • The Procurement Officer will conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Farsight Africa and to not jeopardize its mission.
    • Administration:
      • Establish and maintain appropriate filing systems for office correspondence. Receive and dispatch mail.
      • Organize all Country travel arrangements including bookings, accommodations, visas, and ticketing, and other logistics responsibilities as required.
      • Keep and maintain accurate inventory management records, including inventory labelling and tracking in accordance with FARSIGHT AFRICA’S Country Purchase and
      • Procurement Policies
      • Provide verbal and written translation support documents, contracts, meeting, statements, records, etc. as requested.
      • Purchase of office supplies.
      • Co-ordinate any other necessary administrative and office management details as delegated by the management.

    Reports Directly To: Chief executive officer

    Works Directly With: Finance and Production team

    Knowledge and Experience

    • Degree in procurement and supplies is desired.
    • Atleast 3 years of experience in supply chain management.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to interact effectively with international and national personnel.
    • Excellent oral and written English skills.
    • High computer skills on MS Office programs, especially in MS Excel.
    • A demonstrated ability to multi-task and process information into action as to not delay program activities.
    • A clear understanding of procurement ethics, policies and procedures.
    • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines required
