    Learning Design Associate

    Job description

    Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar Learning Designer for our Primary School. As a Learning Design Associate, you will revolutionize the way 21st-century skills and knowledge are developed in African schools. You will be a central member of the team that will develop the learning model that we will use in our schools in Kenya and South Africa. This is an opportunity to be a part of an innovative network of schools that is developing generations of innovators and leaders who shape the African Century.

    About The Role

    Key responsibilities for the role include:

    • Use themes, big ideas, Cambridge Curriculum, and Kenyan National Curriculum to create the day by day overview of lessons.
    • Create year-long Scope & Sequences for your subject areas and grade levels
    • Create detailed, inquiry-based lesson plans using Reggio Emilia approach, blended learning, and small-group instruction
    • Create materials that go along with each lesson
    • Create a full unit’s worth of material that culminates in Project Based Learning
    • Work with the Team Lead and classroom teachers to revise lessons after they have been taught.
    • Work with learning designers in Humanities and Math/Science to create integrated projects and investigations
    • Create strong assessments/rubrics/continuums/checklists that allow each teacher to evaluate students
    • Create assessments that infuse multiple assessment methods (Common Core, Creative Curriculum, Cambridge, etc.) into the questions (upper primary).
    • Receive professional development on the Nova Model of Learning Design, integrated curriculum design, STEAM, Project-Based Learning
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned by your manager
    • Respond adequately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.

    About You

    Skills and Qualifications required:

    • You have 3-4 years of experience in a rigorous, high-expectations early primary setting
    • You have a track record of developing creative and rigorous curriculum that has led to distinctive learning outcomes and can demonstrate this through example products and references
    • You have a desire to further develop your curriculum development skills and apply them to transform the lives of African youth
    • You have strong writing skills and are able to use those to create lessons that will help people learn it while being engaged and interested
    • You are driven by data and can use data from student assessments to strengthen lessons and spiral in key skills
    • You are excited about our organizational culture—and in particular, you are fired up to challenge yourself by embracing mutual vulnerability and a firehose of feedback.

    Brand & Admissions Manager

    Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar Brand & Admissions Manager to lead a vibrant and talented team. The goal of the Brand & Admissions team is to help expand our Nova Pioneer footprint across Kenya while achieving our annual admissions enrolment targets and delivering an exceptional prospective parent and student experience. This role is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

    Responsibilities

    • Team building and coaching
    • Foster the growth and development of a team of Brand & Admissions Associates, supporting the potential of each individual’s best version of him/herself
    • Monitoring and inspiring morale and the continuous upward shift in the experience of joy at work as a delivery orientated Nova Pioneer team
    • Closely support each member of the team, ensuring weekly and daily prioritisation and execution aligned with broader goals and admissions targets
    • Admissions performance
    • Continuous tracking of data on admissions performance, giving key stakeholders visibility into our progress against targets
    • Regular problem-solving to remove bottlenecks and improve performance to meet targets, ensuring the team of Brand and Admissions Associates are able to facilitate and track each applicant through the admissions funnel, from application to admissions decision in an organized and timely manner that reflects the Nova Pioneer brand
    • Gather insights to ensure an approach that is different in the ways that are necessary for each community in which Nova Pioneer schools are located
    • Admissions process strategy
    • Ensure continuous improvement in the admissions strategy across the network of schools
    • Build a thorough understanding of how parents in our target demographic think about school choice and properly segment and customize the experience based on their perceptions, preferences and decision-making criteria
    • Craft a customer journey that articulates clearly the joy and innovation that is experienced within the community, ensuring all necessary legal and administrative requirements are met
    • Develop methodologies to meticulously track ROI of our admissions initiatives and activations and make data-driven decisions to positively impact enrollment
    • Brand building
    • Build the mechanisms that allows the collection and creation of compelling content for digital distribution by other members of the marketing team which engages current and prospective families. Compelling content drives brand awareness and catapults Nova Pioneer into the stratosphere of game-changing educational organisations.
    • Ensure consistent improvement in the ways in which we amplify the message of how Nova Pioneer builds innovators and leaders throughout the prospective parent and student admissions experience
    • Drive significant and sustainable improvement in the on-campus touchpoints that parents have with us through events like Open Day, Campus Experience and Accepted events.

    Qualifications

    • You have at least 5+ years experience building and managing important relationships in marketing, communications and/or business development positions.
    • You are results driven: You are goal oriented, move fast and take ownership of work
    • You have a strong ability to work with data: You know how to structure data in a compelling way, analyse data to pull out key insights and trends, and
    • make data-driven decisions
    • You have strong project management skills: You are able to juggle multiple tasks, provide support to junior level staff and meet deadlines and targets

    Facilities Supervisor

    Nova Pioneer is looking for a superstar Facilities Supervisor for our Tatu City Campuses. The Facilities Supervisor will identify and address safety risks on the different Campus grounds.     Responsibilities

    Key responsibilities for the role include:

    • Being the go-to-person on the team when it comes to campus cleanliness, maintenance & repairs, facilities management, security and utilities.
    • Responsible for the operation, supervision and maintenance of building systems to provide continuous supply of water, electrical power, and other utilities required for operations.
    • Inspect the building and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions in need of repair.
    • Prepare a schedule for maintenance matters with the operations team and agree when work will be carried out.
    • Perform routine building maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
    • Minimize maintenance disruptions to the running of the school.
    • Adequately respond to maintenance requests.
    • Ensure that all building management equipment has an appropriate policy and standard level.
    • Respond adequately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • 2+ years experience in facilities management.
    • Degree or Diploma in a related field.
