    Key Account Manager

    Job description

    Reporting to the General Manager–Merchant Acquiring, the successful candidate will be expected to lead a sales team, define their business targets and data driven strategies while managing external partners and collaboations with internal departments.

    Key duties and responsibilities will be as follows:-

    • Grow and develop acquiring business from existing key merchants
    • Drive aggressive recruitment of new key merchants to generate new business
    • Develop a solid and trusting relationship between key merchants and the Bank
    • Develop a complete understanding of key merchants’ needs and resolve their complaints/issues
    • Deepen merchant relationships through cross selling of other Bank products by working closely with other departments
    • Develop and implement new and existing business development strategies to ensure that set targets are achieved
    • Primary contact person for key merchants
    • Ensure 100% compliance to the Bank’s policies and procedures
    • Promote the Bank’s corporate image

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • An O-Level pass of at least C+
    • A degree in a business related field
    • Holders of a marketing related professional qualification will have an added advantage
    • Must have at least 5 years’ experience in the Bank, two of which must be in a supervisory role
    • Experience in Card and Mobile Telephony Business will be an added advantage
    • Effective writing and presentation skills in English
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office

    Desired Competencies

    • Excellent interpersonal selling and networking skills
    • Able to work independently with minimum supervision and demonstrate a good level of maturity
    • Team player with strong leadership skills
    • Good planning and organisation skills
    • Good working knowledge of Ms Office Suite

    Head of Sales and Distribution - EazzyPay

    Job description

    Reporting to the General Manager–Merchant Acquiring, the successful candidate will be expected to lead a sales team, define their business targets and data driven strategies while managing external partners and collaboations with internal departments. Key duties and responsibilities will be as follows:-

    • Leadership/Supervisory Role
      • Own EazzyPay targets and delivery of the same
      • To provide leadership over the sales team
      • Develop a high performing team through effective use of KPIs/SMART targets and timely reviews with active feedback and coaching
      • Reward and recognise high performing teams and staff, hence motivating the team towards high performance
      • In charge of developing daily/weekly/monthly/annual and seasonal sales targets for the department examining growth opportunities, enabling sales improvements, product mix development and taking responsibility for the department’s performance against targets
      • Manage the departmental calendar with regard to trading priorities inclusive of launches, promotions, exclusives and campaign activities for the purpose of maximising sales opportunities
      • Tasked with establishing and overseeing the adoption of departmental vision and values, which form part of the work culture
    • Strategy Execution
      • Tasked with implementing sales strategies that further the department’s agenda and drive enhanced revenue generation for the business
      • Unlock key business opportunities and manage key relationships and clients
      • Harness support of key business enablers to support realisation of the strategy
      • Create and implement sales action plans that incorporate key actions that work, to set KPIs for the business
    • Analytics
      • Utilises analytics tools and works with the analytics team in undertaking detailed analysis of the business performance for the purpose of reporting strategy successes, weaknesses and opportunities to management
      • Through various research and analyses, the role holder identifies areas of improvement in sales strategies with a view of establishing actionable insights for the improving of sales and business profits
    • Collaboration
      • Role is highly collaborative and, as such, the role holder teams up with the product development teams in creating product intelligence, for example, product/brand adjacencies, affinities, display rules, conducting trend analysis, and ensuring that these are aligned to support and drive sales and conversion
      • Monitors the development of the business’s product from its conceptualization through to its testing and launch and therefore, carefully understands the product whose sales he/she is supposed to spearhead, making it easy to tailor unique strategies around that product
      • Works closely with the analytics department in processing relevant data and information, translating it into actionable strategies that drive sales and leads to achievement of targets. Similarly partners with the senior management for administrative purposes, for example, the development of plans, strategies, structure, budget, vision and establishment of goals for the department.

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • A degree or Masters in either Communications, Marketing, Business Management, Business Administration or any other related field
    • At least 10 years of working experience in a sales position within a fast-paced and dynamic business environment, preferably working in the position of a Senior Sales Manager
    • Proven ability to manage and lead teams
    • A suitable candidate will also have had experience evaluating product/market situations and analysing raw data and information, transforming it into actionable
    • Good knowledge of the business environment, industry regulations and government regulations
    • Strong marketing and selling skills
    • World class customer service skills and relationship management
    • Build strong relationships with the external partners and consumers and regularly interact with them in various capacities
    • Must possess exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
    • Demonstrate high proficiency in Ms Word and PowerPoint, which are necessary for creating both visually and verbally engaging reports and presentations.

    • Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills with ablility to form strong and long-lasting relationships both internally and externally on behalf of the business
    • Display initiative and an enthusiastic, positive and persuasive style
    • Take immediate control of situations and does what it takes to attain objectives and solve problems
    • Is a good team leader with a confident and “in charge” attitude to lead the group to the completion of goals
    • Encourage direct reports by delegating work and exerting effective controls progressively towards objectives
    • Possess great interpersonal skills
    • Able to lead and inspire the team, including other managers, to achieve results
