    Maseno University founded in 1991, is the only University on the globe that lies along the Equator (00).The University is located in Maseno Township along Kisumu-Busia road, 25 km from Kisumu City and approximately 400 km west of Nairobi the capital city of Kenya. The University also shares its boundaries with Vihiga and Kisumu County. In pursuit of its mission and mandate, the University wishes to invite applications from qualified candidates to fill the positions indicated below:

    Requirements for Appointment of Academic Staff

    Must have:

    • An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university;
    • At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level as a Lecturer or six (6) years research /industry experience
    • A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals;
    • Supervised at least three (3) post-graduate students to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent;
    • Attended and presented papers at conferences/workshops/seminars;
    • Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable).

    • At least fifteen (15) years of teaching experience at the university level with at least three (3) years as an associate Professor or six (6) years research /industry experience.
    • A minimum of sixty (60) publication points since attaining associate Professorship, forty (40) of which should be in refereed scholarly journals.
    • Supervised at least five (5) post-graduate students to completion as an associate Professor with at least two at doctoral level.
    • He or she must have attracted research or development funds since last promotion.
    • Attended and presented papers at conferences/workshops/seminars.

    • Attended and presented papers at conferences/workshops/seminars;
    • He or she must have attracted research or development funds as a Senior-Lecturer/Research Fellow.
