    Student Intern - Flight Operations Engineering

    Job Description

    The purpose of the Student Attachment Program is to provide an opportunity for university and college students to become familiar with the operations of Kenya Airways, and to acquire work experience at a professional level through on-the-job training during vacations before resuming your studies.

    During the internship, students shall be placed in one of the departments or units of the specified Kenya Airways department, and, to the extent possible, shall be given assignments relevant to their current studies. Before the end of the program, the interns must submit a brief report about their experience/ learning in Kenya Airways and provide ideas and suggestions that can help improve the Program in future years.

    Qualifications 

    Conditions of Internship

    Kenya Airways does not provide medical insurance cover for Interns. Those selected for internship will be required to submit proof of medical insurance while at Kenya Airways.

    Since the hiring for the Internship Program is done locally, Kenya Airways does not pay transportation costs whatsoever.

    Because Internship Program is addressed to students who are pursuing their degree programs or diploma programs, participation in the program will not extend beyond three (3) months.

    Candidates afforded internship in the past by Kenya Airways are not eligible to apply  

    Documentation that will be required should you be selected for internship are:

    • Letter from learning institution requesting for internship and confirming that this is part of the course requirement
    • Original and copy of KCSE/GCSE/O’level Certificate

    System Development Analyst - Systems Support

    Job Description

    The Revenue Management (RM) Systems Development Analyst is responsible for supporting the RM team with the execution and implementation of RM Systems development initiatives. In this role, you are responsible for conducting systems performance analysis and evaluation of functionalities, highlighting areas for system improvement and projected benefits in Revenue Management Department. You will gather and share system knowledge across the department, ensure the normal operation of RM Systems and promptly resolve system disruptions. You will perform on-going analysis and evaluate RM systems functionalities. This includes modification and maintenance of RM systems data inputs and settings.

    Job Responsibility

    • Conducting systems performance analysis and evaluation of functionalities

    Analyst - Revenue Analysis

    Description

    Brief Posting Description

    Supports Manager Revenue Analysis to maintain Revenue Management standards on forecasting and analysis; and to develop and monitor revenue and cost budgets in line with company policy.

    Detailed Description

    • Maintains accurate management information databases for Revenue Management including historical traffic, cabin factors, yields, capacities amongst others.
    • Produce and analyses data and trends on Revenue, yield, Traffic-flow and booking developments and advises stakeholders on threats, opportunities and recommends corrective actions.
      Conduct relevant performance analysis/create reports to highlight on key performance indicators.
      Generates baseline data for the forecasting process and assists revenue staff in ensuring quality forecasting, and compiles monthly reforecast with the clusters in line with the company requirements.
    • Support the airline distribution in developing reports and communicate CRS cost with an aim to achieving budget targets.
    • Prepare and submit reports on Special Prorate agreements performance to ensure that revenue targets are achieved through competitive levels.
    • Provides information on actual performance of pricing programs, traffic flows and connectivity’s for the Revenue budget and scheduling process.

    HR Business Partner

    Description

    This role will act as a consultant to the functional business unit leader as well as provide guidance and support to the allocated departments across all areas on human resources matters. In liaison with the Principal HRB Partner act as employee’s champion and change agent, assessing and anticipating HR-related needs and communicating them proactively with the HR department and Business Units.

    • Function as an internal consultant to management and function employees by helping them identify and resolve issues, encouraging excellent management practices, anticipating internal organization issues, proposing solutions, and understanding/representing the employee perspective. 
    • In liaison with the Principal HR Business Partner, provide HR guidance and support to the allocated business units across a breadth of areas including talent management, employee development, performance management, change management and employee relations. 
    • In liaison with the Principal HR Business Partner / Head of HR Business Partners facilitate talent reviews and succession planning discussions and work with the business units to ensure plans are actively put into practice.
    • Assist with labor relations initiatives, assuring compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement as well the company rules and regulations.
    • Using the approved manpower plan, recruit for the vacant positions.
    • Prepare Business function Human Resource forecasts in consultation with Principal HR Business Partner and Business Unit Heads in scoping and justification of proposed and existing roles in line with the business strategy by recommending optimal staff establishment.
    • Support the development of Talent management within the Business Unit by enabling the Business Unit to attract, retain and motivate talent.
    • Coordinating and facilitating the entire process of performance management, ensuring timely submission of reports and their analysis within the allocated business unit.
    • Champion and enforce labour laws as constituted within the country and the company’s policies.
    • Frequently support and advice on Human Resources challenges and issues facing the business units.
    • In liaison with business unit heads and Principal HR Business Partner, ensure that leave plans are in place and are adhered to.
    • Interpretation of the policies and procedures and assess compliance by all employees within the business unit. (Advise managers and employees on disciplinary issues and procedures).
