    Card Operations & Mis Risk Officer

    DEPARTMENT: CARD CENTRE

    REPORTS TO: MANAGER, CARD OPERATIONS

    JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT

    The purpose of this role is to provide exceptional customer service and card operations excellence performance, through prompt provision of service standards and business performance data, management of card and PIN application process and reconciliation of chargeback suspense account.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Processing and Reconciliation the Visa chargeback account for KE, Tanzania and Uganda (10%)
    • T24/Prime manual postings (20%)
    • Risk management (20%)
    • Input of new credit and debit cards and Pin management and related customer service tasks (30%)
    • Collect and preparation of monthly MIS for card business and service level review for Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania (20%)

    COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with and manage expectations of customers (internal and external) and other stake holders who impact performance.
    • Knowledge and effective application of all relevant banking polices processes, procedures and guidelines to consistently achieve required compliance standards.
    • Detail consciousness skills to be able to focuses on detail, working methodically and in an organized and systematic manner and ensures work is done with high accuracy to provide high quality service.
    • Planning and Organizational skills to deliver time bound reports within set deadlines.
    • Knowledge and experience in current card operation practices, rules and regulations
    • Good numeric skills
    • Analytical Skills

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • University degree-Minimum Upper Second/GPA 3.0
    • Three years’ experience in card business
    • Experience in operations management
    • Knowledge of Visa Rules and regulations. Compliance regulations and chargeback reason codes.
    • Proficiency in MS Office computer applications

    Relationship Officer-Asset Finance

    DEPARTMENT: BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

    REPORTS TO: TEAM LEADER-ASSET FINANCE

    JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT

    To drive, sell and manage Asset Finance in the bank and ensure efficient customer service and support at all times, revenue collection and recognition as well as timely production of management information and reports.

    This incorporates: Sources of business from Motor and Asset Suppliers, collating all the necessarily security documents, visiting existing and new customers, and coordinating with Relationship / Business Development / Branch teams in preparation of proposals.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Growth of income from Asset Finance. (20%)
    • Growth of customer base for Asset Finance. (20%)
    • Growth of volumes from Motor and Asset Suppliers. (20%)
    • Visiting customers, Motor and Asset Suppliers. (20%)
    • Liaise with internal functional partners to ensure support to Relationship / Business Development / Branch Teams. (10%)
    • Derive insights to competitor strategies and take proactive steps. (5%)
    • Adherence to and application of Group policies, processes, procedures and tools to achieve optimal efficiency, compliance and cost containment. (5%)

    Financial Risk Analyst

    DEPARTMENT: HEAD, FINANCIAL RISK MANAGEMENT-NEW BUSINESS VENTURES

    REPORTS TO: NEW BUSINESS VENTURES

    JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT

    The Financial Risk Analyst role is portfolio specific, and is responsible for designing, developing, promoting and maintaining financial risk algorithms and models that measure customer credit risk profiles and match these to product arrangements, with a view to optimize profit. These financial risk models shall be applied to customer credit limit management, portfolio management and collections strategies.

    The role is responsible for the credit risk performance of a specific portfolio; either retail or merchant, for the countries that the financial intermediation products may be offered by NBV.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design and development of effective credit risk management models for all products and markets (20%)
    • Execution and maintenance of these credit risk models to optimize profit (30%)
    • Portfolio monitoring to identify trends and mitigation strategies to achieve target credit risk metrics (30%)
    • Contribution to the product development and GTM strategies to assure that credit quality is integrated to product design and market communication (10%)
    • Contribute to the development and evolution of collections strategies to assure that assure attainment of target conversion rates (10%)

    COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Exceptional quantitative and statistical skills.
    • Knowledge and experience in modern financial risk management practices to initiate and implement tactical changes to support business performance.
    • Exceptional analytics and presentation skills to translate data into insights, insights into ideas.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • At least an undergraduate degree or its equivalent in Mathematics, Finance, Banking, Economics, Actuarial Science, Business Administration (with a major in Finance) or similar quantitative disciplines.
    • Professional qualification in Finance or Risk Management e.g. CFA, FRICS, CPA,
    • Experience with financial analysis and reporting
    • Preferably 4 years of relevant professional experience in banking and/or finance, including at least 2 years performing in Financial Risk Management in a data intensive environment.
    • Experience with R, SPSS or other statistical packages and office automation tools like MS Excel, MS Access at an advanced level.
